As the carriage slowly drove out of the gate of the Knights of Lightwings camp, Leo couldn't help but sigh softly: "If only General Viedrins supported us." โ
Don't look at what he said so strongly when he faced General Biedrins in the camp just now, in fact, from the bottom of his heart, Leo certainly still hopes that such a powerful force as the Knights of Light Wings will be on his side.
Duke Habs smiled: "Actually, things are not too bad, after all, this general still remained neutral in the end, didn't he?" โ
Leo scratched his head and said, "To be honest, I don't understand that this general doesn't seem to be seduced and corrupted by the dark forces of Lucie, uh, and Bishop Gavin, so why did he choose to raise an army against the Pope and show his neutrality at such a time?" โ
Although he already knew Lucifer's true identity, Leo found himself subconsciously and preferred to call the demon king "Bishop Gavin".
Cheeto, who was on the side, suddenly spoke: "That should be because he only wants to overthrow Pope Enhill, I heard that a relative of General Biedrins was once burned alive at the stake because of a certain incident of Pope Enhill, and Bishop Gavin should have moved him because of one of Pope Enhill's companies."
"Is that so?" Leo spread his hands and said with a smile: "If you want to say that, then this General Beedrins really looks a bit like those Vengeful Brotherhood guys, all of them are purely to rebel for the revenge of Pope Enhill."
Cheedo pursed his lips slightly: "The Knights of the Wings of Light are the defenders of order, and the Brotherhood of Vengeance is deliberately trying to destroy the current order, these two are not the same style. Then again, there are at least five figures in the Holy See alone who have enmity with Enhill, and if these tens of thousands of people had joined the Brotherhood of Vengeance, I think that entropy demon would have ascended to the Pope by now. โ
"That's right," Leo nodded, his eyes casually swept over the window of the carriage, and suddenly his eyes gathered outside the window, and then he sighed in some surprise: "Lord Duke, it seems that the personal bodyguard you just received yesterday didn't come out."
Duke Habs couldn't help but be stunned for a moment when he heard this, and then he realized that the personal bodyguard that Leo was talking about was actually referring to Foster, the first captain of the Knights of the Wings of Light, who had been a groom for Duke Habs for a day yesterday.
Not only was Foster gone, but even the small group of Lightwing Knights who were with Foster did not appear, and the convoy that had been a hug when they came back now only the carriage driven by Morata was running alone on the avenue.
After a brief reflection, the three of them easily came to the conclusion that it was General Biedrins who had kept Foster.
A smile appeared on Duke Habs's face: "Actually, it seems to be a little easier without this so-called bodyguard, I really don't like this feeling of being watched by others." By the way, Lord Leo, those royal knights under my command should be able to enter the city, right? โ
Leo nodded, and said, "The Duke will be able to see these knights of yours today, to be honest, I'm a little strange, you seem to attach great importance to these royal knights, is there any secret hidden in them?"
Duke Habs smiled inscrutablely: "Everyone has a secret hidden in their deepest hearts, Lord Leo. But rest assured, I and these hundred royal knights are your loyal allies. โ
After arriving at the Inquisition's headquarters, Duke Habs went upstairs alone on the pretext of having tea with Lord Dandrien, leaving Leo and Cheedo to go down an underground passage at the bottom of the Inquisition's building.
A figure slowly emerged from the dark passage underground, like a ghost, and after a moment, it was completely formed in front of the two of them, and then bowed: "I've seen Lord Cheeto, Lord Leo."
This figure is one of the three adjudicators who helped Leo in Ridema City, the second adjudicator of the Sanctuary Assassins, and is also an old acquaintance of Leo.
Cheedo nodded slightly, although Leo was likely to become the Pope, but after all, this was the territory of the Inquisition, so the head of the Inquisition naturally spoke: "How are the people?"
The second adjudicator said: "It is basically a trauma, mainly a weakness caused by excessive bleeding, she has been medicated, she was awake an hour ago, and she does not seem to have any signs of amnesia or insanity."
Cheetos said, "Very good, let's go in and have a look."
Adjudicator No. 2 stepped out of the way, and a dark wooden door appeared behind him.
Leo looked at the scene in front of him with some curiosity, and what appeared in front of him was a passage about two meters wide, and on both sides of the passage were patches of black wooden doors, apparently behind which there was a small underground room.
To Leo's surprise, the underground passage in front of him seemed to stretch far away, at least with Leo's eyes.
Leo couldn't help but muttered to himself, "I've heard that there is an underground passage under the Inquisition that leads to the outside of the city, but I used to think it was a liar."
Cheedo glanced back at Leo with a smile on his face, "It's a long underground passage, but it doesn't lead to the outside of the city. The rest of the passage does not have the same small rooms for shelter and rest as it does here, as only this section has been converted into shelter in case of emergency. โ
"I see." Leo nodded knowingly, and followed Cheedo into the small underground room in front of him.
When Leo walked through the door, his first impression was that the room was really small.
How small is it? A single bed that would fit an adult of normal stature, a small table that would not fit anything after a set of cutlery, a small dim oil lamp on top of it, and two wooden chairs on the left and right sides of the table.
Between the table and the bed was a narrow aisle that could only be walked by one person, and Leo had just sat down to find that his knees were almost on the edge of the bed, and he didn't even have room to stretch his legs.
This made Leo can't help but complain in his heart: "This TM can also be called a room?" It's just a pigeon cage. โ
However, Leo's attention did not linger in the room for long, but quickly focused on the woman lying on the bed.
The woman had already heard Leo and Cheedo coming in, and was looking at them with a wary gaze, when her gaze was fixed on Leo, and a fierce murderous intent suddenly appeared in her eyes.
This is, of course, the survivor that Leo found in the rubble of the Ministry of Inspectorate's headquarters yesterday, the woman who nearly killed Leo with a punch.
