School holidays in Japan
In Japan, the school year is divided into three semesters, and the new school year officially starts in April, before which there is a spring break (about two weeks) and a sports day is held in the first semester.
The summer vacation in July is about the same time as the holiday in China.
Entering the second semester in September, there will be more activities in this semester: high school has a school festival (you should know it when you watch anime), school trips (this junior high school also has it), and winter vacation at the end of December.
The new semester starts in February, and the end of March is closed (spring break).
The rest have red days, like traditional Chinese festivals, but on that day, only one day off, and there are generally one or two days per month.
Daily school starts at about 8 o'clock and ends at about 3 o'clock, but those who participate in school group activities can generally go home at about 5 o'clock.
