Chapter 497: Transmission of Ideas
"This mound is in the machine, so think that the god man, the tomb he chose must be extraordinary, watching the feng shui acupuncture point is the head of the dragon's lair, plus he wants to use this acupoint to suppress the demon Genghis Khan, it is estimated that there are some other things in it. We seem to have to be careful. Makushu said worriedly.
"Hold the grass, this time it's a hard stubble." An Xiangfei patted the stele and said with a wry smile.
"I don't care, let's not survive so many times, I'm afraid of this time." I took a deep breath and said.
Besides, even if this tomb was chosen for Zhengya Genghis Khan, it was also against Genghis Khan, not against us.
"Makushu, what's wrong with you, how do I feel like you've been thinking about it all this time." I couldn't help but ask.
"Oh, it's nothing, it's just that the more you go to the back of the fight, the more weird you feel in your heart." Makushu said.
And of course I know the reason, because the Jing Yuan Beads are constantly converging, and they are already releasing energy, changing this empty aura, which will definitely have an impact on him who is confused in time and space. But I was a little happy inside. Because he will be back soon, there is Yuying, there is the gentle and considerate An Xiangfei, the lively and clever An Rufei, and the curtain Xiu who loves me.
"Okay, let's not talk about it, like talking about the character of this hill, otherwise Uncle Ben really wouldn't dare to go down without permission." An Xiangfei said.
Hearing An Xiangfei say this made me amused and helpless, this guy is sometimes like a child, sometimes he is afraid of everything, and sometimes he is afraid of everything.
Well, this persuasion of Genghis Khan reduced the killing and destruction of the Mongol army during its attack on the Central Plains, so that he was highly praised by the public at that time, and made the Quanzhen Tao the most prosperous religion at that time. For example, the "Records of the Golden Lotus Authentic Sect" written by the Quanzhen Taoist priest recorded a story in which three people discussed the contributions of Qiu Chuji, the first two praised him for his superb cultivation and meritorious service in promoting the Tao, while the last one criticized the two for "seeing the small but not seeing the great", praising Qiu Chuji's greatest contribution was to make "half of the four hundred states live in peace", and the people who survived were "no less than hundreds of trillions"; Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty wrote a couplet, saying, "Eternal life, do not eat Xia to seek secrets; One word to stop killing, the first to know that there is a miracle to help the world", all expressed the same kind of views, among which the four words "one word to stop killing" have become a common word for the contribution of the Qiu Chuji. Qiu Chuji was not only an outstanding thinker and Taoist leader, but also an important zhengzhi scholar, whose greatest contribution was to put into practice his ideas of helping the world and the people, which had a significant impact on the society of the time.
Although Qiu Chuji has been engaged in religious activities for a long time, he has a keen insight into social issues. He knew very well that in order for his theory to have lasting vitality, it must bring benefits to the people in practice, and this practice must have the full support of the ruling class. In the twenty-eighth year of Jin Dading (1188), he first won the favor of Jin Shizong, who believed in Taoism at that time, and summoned him twice in Beijing within a month to inquire about his longevity and the skills of governing the country and protecting the people. Qiu Chuji told Jin Shizong "to analyze the principles of heaven and man, and to interpret the sect of morality, which is very comfortable". This was the first time that Qiu Chuji promoted his ideas to the supreme ruler, and it was successful. Jin Shizong not only personally gave a big peach as a reward and asked him to preside over the Wanchun Festival Jiao ceremony, but also ordered the statue of Wang Zhe, the founder of the Quanzhen Sect, to be carved in the palace nunnery as a commemoration, which undoubtedly played an important role in expanding the influence of the Quanzhen Sect and improving his social status.
In the third year of Jin Xingding (1219), Qiu Chuji was invited to go to Genghis Khan's camp in Central Asia to discuss with him. This was an epoch-making event in the history of religion, and it was also a major move by Qiu Chuji to realize his ideals and talents, and it was of far-reaching significance. Prior to this, Qiu Chuji saw the decline of the Jin Dynasty, so he lived in seclusion in his hometown Qixia to preach and teach, and successively declined the invitation of the rulers of the Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty to ask for his auxiliary government. However, he resolutely accepted Genghis Khan's invitation and traveled tens of thousands of miles to the west to camp in the snow-capped mountains (present-day Hindu Kush in Afghanistan) to meet the Mongol Great Khan, fully demonstrating the Taoist leader's far-sighted insight in Zhengzhi. On the one hand, he was deeply aware of the general trend of the future, and saw that the heavy task of ending the war and unifying the country had historically fallen on Genghis Khan and Meng Yuanzhengquan, and that for the future development of the Quanzhen Sect and the realization of his long-cherished aspirations, he must be supported by the new feudal dynasty that was about to emerge. On the other hand, Qiu Chuji also saw hope and was encouraged by the edict issued to him by Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan's invitation ostensibly asked Qiu to talk about the way of health preservation for himself, but in fact he asked about the plan for governing the country and securing the country. Genghis Khan's thirst for talent in governing the country jumped on the paper, and his deep affection touched Qiu Chuji, so that he pinned his hopes for realizing his ideals and ambitions on Genghis Khan, so he was able to ignore the 72-year-old age, went through hardships, traveled thousands of miles to the west, and began another major practice of "cultivating real skills abroad".
In the camp of Genghis Khan's Western Expeditionary Army, which was stationed in present-day Afghanistan, Qiu Chuji spent several months with the Great Khan day and night, and discussed with him many times, the specific content of which can be found in the book "Xuanqing Feng Huilu" edited by Yelu Chucai. Judging from the records of the book, the influence of Qiu Chuji on Genghis Khan is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:
The first is the propaganda of "eliminating violence and stopping killing", which to a certain extent alleviated the brutal killing policy pursued by the Mongol and Yuan rulers against the people in the conquered areas. In response to Genghis Khan's desire for immortality, Qiu asked him to combine the pursuit of "becoming an immortal" with doing good, and advised Genghis Khan that the way of health preservation is to "consolidate the spirit internally and cultivate yin virtue externally". The inner spirit is not to go around to conquer, and the external cultivation of yin virtue is to go to the violent killing. Qiu Chuji first praised Genghis Khan's army to destroy Western Xia and Jin in line with the will of heaven and the people, Yinghe the psychology of the Great Khan, and then advised him to prohibit brutal killings in order to make the cause finally successful. Genghis Khan's policy of ruling the Central Plains in the later period was somewhat relaxed, and Mu Huali, who was an official in Shandong, and his successors adopted measures to recruit security against local rebellions. After that, Qiu Chuji still continued to advise General Meng Yuan to reduce the slaughter of the people, "All the generals come to admonish, it will be convenient to persuade them not to kill, people must be in a hurry, those who are captured by others will come to their aid, and the soldiers and horses will be named after the division, and there are many people who want to get rid of the disaster of the army." Later generations have a high evaluation of this, believing that he "saved his life in the wok, and took his life under the knife and saw". "If you stop killing with a word, you will know that there are miraculous feats in the world."
