Chapter 427 Main Functional Area

Most of the territory of the Republic of Kachin State is mountainous, especially on the east and north sides. There are many mountain ranges such as Kumen Ridge running north and south in the www.biquge.info, and the upper source of the Irrawaddy River and the Qindun River are all in the territory. Rainfall is abundant, and most of the inhabitants of the republic are engaged in agriculture. Rice, vegetables, cotton, tobacco and sugar cane are grown, among others. Many forests, teak, and many bamboo forests. There are many kinds of minerals such as precious and secondary gems, and there are amber jade mines in the west. There are rice milling, sugar refining, wood processing and other industries.

The highest peak of the Salween Federal Republic, the Kagabo Peak, and the largest lake, Indoki Lake, are within its borders, and the Hugong Plain in the Deneka River basin and the grape plain in the Mai Li Kai River basin are important plains for the Kachin people.

The north of Myitkyina is a deep valley with high mountains and deep valleys, including Mong Bang Mountain, Xiannuo Mountain, and Gaoligong Mountain, with an altitude of between 2,000 and 4,000 meters, and the highest peak in the north reaches 5,887 meters. The Republic of Kachin State is home to two major rivers, the Miles Khai River and the Nmei Khai River, with deep valleys and steep slopes, mostly covered by tropical rainforests. The mountainous region is sparsely populated, and traffic is relatively closed except for the road from Myitkyina to the north to the grapes. The area south of Myitkyina is mostly alpine forests. Kachin State has valleys such as Hugong, Mon Gong, Mon Yang, Myitkyina and Bhamo, which are low-lying and flat, with many rice paddies and marshlands. These valleys pass through important lines of communication connecting the outside. The climate of the Republic of Kachin State has a clear vertical distribution. The valleys are hot, and the mountains are cooler. In the northern mountainous areas, heavy snow covers the mountains from December to March of the following year, and some shady slopes above 3,000 meters above sea level are covered with snow all year round. May to October is the rainy season in the Republic of Kachin State. Annual rainfall of more than 3,000 mm is recorded north of Myitkyina and in the Hugong Valley, and 1,000 to 1,500 mm south of Myitkyina.

In accordance with the provisions of the "Federal Main Functional Area Plan", the federal land is divided into optimized development areas, key development areas, restricted development areas and prohibited development areas. In terms of development content, the federal territory is divided into urbanized areas, main agricultural production areas, and key ecological function areas.

Optimized development area refers to the urbanized area in the Federal Republic of Salween that is relatively economically developed, densely populated, has a high development intensity, and has more prominent resource problems, so that it should be optimized for industrialization and urbanization.

The key development areas are urbanized areas that have a certain economic foundation, strong carrying capacity of resources and environment, great development potential, and good conditions for gathering population and economy, so they should focus on industrialization and urbanization development.

The optimized development areas and key development areas are all urbanized areas, and the development content is generally the same, but the development intensity and development methods are different.

The restricted development areas are divided into two categories, one is the main agricultural product producing areas, and the other is the key ecological function areas that restrict the development of industrialization and urbanization.

The area where development is prohibited refers to the area that needs to be protected, and the key ecological function areas in which industrialization and urbanization development are prohibited and strictly protected.

After the vigorous efforts of the local government of the Republic of Kachin State, Myitkyina, Bhamo and Grape Town, the capital of Myitkyina, Bhamo and Grape Town, have been listed as key development areas by the federal central government.

Menggong is listed as the main production area of agricultural products, and the valleys such as Hugong and Mengyang are listed by the federal central government as key ecological function areas that restrict industrialization and urbanization development, and belong to the restricted development areas.

Because the total population of Kachin State is only 1.3 million, with the rapid development of the major industries under the Longzheng umbrella in the Federation, it is expected that more than 300,000 people will outflow to the Panshi Kingdom, Salween Special Economic Zone, Mergui Special Economic Zone and Kodong Special Economic Zone, and the permanent population of the Republic of Kachin State is expected to be less than 1 million.

With a total resident population of less than 1 million, the existing key development areas and restricted development areas in the Republic of Kachin State are not allocated enough, so except for Myitkyina, Bhamo, Grape Town, Mong Kung and Hugong and Mong Yang valleys, the rest of the Kachin State is a prohibited development area.

The Wa State Republic, the Hua State Republic, the Shan State Republic, and the Panshi Kingdom originated from the Shan State Autonomous State of the former Myanmar.

The Republic of Wa, the Republic of Huabang, the Republic of Shan and the Kingdom of Panshi are mostly surrounded by the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and in a certain sense, this area belongs to the extension of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

The northern part of this area is mostly lofty mountains, with an average altitude of 1,200 meters, about 4,000 feet, and the highest is more than 2,400 meters. The average elevation of the area is 500 to 600 feet, with Mount Leliang being the highest point in the area at 8,777 feet. The elevation of Laizhuang Mountain, Laibannon Mountain, and Laizhan Mountain is more than 8,000 feet, and the natural landscape in this area is very magnificent.

The Salween River, one of the longest rivers in Asia, bisects the region from north to south along the Tibetan Plateau in China, with steep mountains of 6,000 to 7,000 feet on both sides.

The Salween River runs from north to south through the Republic of Wa, the Republic of Warbang, the Republic of Shan, the Kingdom of Panshi, the Republic of Kayah, the Republic of Kayin and the Republic of Mon before flowing into the Bay of Modama in the city of Moramin.

In the area where the Republic of Wa, the Republic of Huabang, the Republic of Shan and the Kingdom of Panshi are located, the tributaries that mainly flow into the Salween River are the Nandi River, Nanning River, Nanban River, Nanding River, Nanchun River, etc. in the west. In the east, the Nanma River, the Nannan River, the Nanka River, the Nanxing River, the Nanhan River, the Nanta River, the Nanmei Gong River, etc. The Mekong River is the boundary between this region and Laos, and the Mekong River shoreline between the countries is 120 miles long, and the main tributaries that flow into the Mekong River from this area are the Nam Lang River, the Nam Lei River, and the Nam Bang River. The main rivers in the north of this area are Nanmao River and Nandu River, and the main rivers in the south are Nanzuoji River, Nanlan River, Nanpaopa River, Nanpilu River, etc.

Many rivers in this area flow along with the steep mountains and dangerous waterfalls, forming countless beautiful waterfalls, the largest waterfall is located in Jingdong County, called "Zhongang Waterfall", the largest lake is Haiya Lake, local residents build houses on the lake and live, it is a rare landscape.

The area where the Wa State, the Wabang Republic, the Shan State Republic and the Rock Kingdom are located has a population of 5.7 million, accounting for more than half of the total population of the Federal Republic.

Covering an area of 500 square kilometers, the Rock Kingdom is listed as an optimized development area by the federal central government, and belongs to the urbanized area that optimizes industrialization and urbanization development.

The Republic of Huabang, which has a very high population density, is listed as a key development area by the federal central government as a whole, and belongs to the urbanized areas that focus on industrialization and urbanization.

Because the vast and sparsely populated Republic of Wa is located in the Wa Mountains, it has been listed by the federal central government as a key ecological function area for restricting industrialization and urbanization development, and is a restricted development area. (To be continued.) )
