"Anna?"

Warrenga's voice brought Anna to her senses.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing." Anna smiled. In fact, she would have liked to learn more from Warrenga, but she now had something urgent to solve, so after a few more gossip, Anna left with Seryosha first.

"Where are you going, Mom?" Seryosha is very well-behaved, since his mother said that he was leaving now, when there were outsiders, he didn't ask much, but he was a curious baby after all, so after they left for a while, Seryosha asked.

"I'd like to go see Mr. Slyuddin, I might have eaten a little more in the morning." Anna lied, she didn't want Seryosha to worry about her, of course, partly because it made her feel a little overwhelmed by this worry.

After all, she had just served this, and Anna did not want to see such a situation if she hurt Seryosha for her own reasons.

"Mom, next time you want a proper diet, my father often says that if you eat too much, your brain will not bother to work." Seryosha said seriously.

"I will." Anna stroked Seryosha's ear, she liked the little guy's serious tone. He was really cute when he recited those dogmas of Karenin.

Anna found Slyuddin, who looked like he had just taken care of himself and was ready to go out.

"Is there anything wrong with you? Madam. Slyuddin said.

"My mother has eaten a lot in the morning, you need to give her a good look, sir, she's a little uncomfortable now." Seryosha said he took Anna's hand and set her up in a soft chair, looking very reliable.

"Seryosha."

"What's wrong? Mom. ”

"Can you help me get a glass of orange juice?" That would make me feel better. Tell them it doesn't take much. ”

"Of course, Mom, you can wait a minute."

After Seryosha left, Anna looked at Slyuddin.

"Madame, is there anything important you want to ask me about your son?" Slyuddin's face became serious.

"Yes." Anna nodded, but didn't immediately say her question.

Slyudin took out a doctor's patience, and after about half a minute, Anna asked, her voice not as calm as before, but a little nervous.

"I want you to see if I'm pregnant."

When she said that, Anna felt relieved and quickly lifted it up again.

"Let me see." Slyuddin gave a reassuring look.

The clock ticked by, and it shouldn't have been too long, but Anna felt as if it was an hour or two long.

She looked like someone who was waiting to be sentenced.

Slyudin laughed, "It's time for you to keep yourself in a good mood all the time. ”

Slyuddin gave her a slightly surprised look when she saw the lady in front of her, but soon, she was shocked again.

"So, I'm pregnant, am I?" Anna asked.

"Yes, ma'am, congratulations, you are pregnant." Slyudin avoided being too excited, for he knew some of the lady's temperament, and if he were as excited as he always was, he would be too unqualified as a doctor.

"Are you going to tell Mr. Karenin at once?" Slyuddin asked softly.

"Yes, I'm going to tell him, but wait a minute." Anna whispered that she was in her mind allowing herself to quickly accept the fact, a fact that she might not be so happy about.

"Is my mom okay? Mr. Seryosha came over with orange juice and asked.

"It's fine, don't worry, little one." Slyuddin said with a smile and suggested, "You can give her orange juice." ”

Seryosha carried orange juice over, and Anna took it, thanked him, and took a few sips.

She knew she was acting calm now, her left hand holding the bottom of the cup, her right hand gently resting on the rim of the cup, she drank half a glass of orange juice in three minutes, and there was a faint sweetness in her mouth.

"Seryosha, I have something to say to your father, can you stay with Mr. Slyudin first?"

"Can't I listen?"

"I'll tell you later, but I'll have to tell your father first." Anna touched Seryosha's curly hair, and the latter nodded.

"Can you please take care of him for a while?" Anna asked Slyuddin.

"Don't worry, I'll take him for a walk in the garden." Slyudin grinned, "Please come back to me when you've communicated." ”

Anna thanked her and headed into the room, bringing in a glass of orange juice with her.

"Knock knock." Anna knocked on the door of the study and was allowed to enter.

She put orange juice on Karenin's table and said, "I have something to tell you." ”

Karenin sensed from Anna's tone that this would not be a problem that would only take a few seconds to solve, so he put down his pen and put aside the official documents on top of the stack of documents that were called to be solved.

"You should have noticed the recent change in my diet, Alexei, I just went to Mr. Slyudin for my health, and then I was told that I was pregnant."

Anna tried to state this fact in a calm tone, and then she looked at Karenin, waiting for his reply.

The man's blue eyes enlarged slightly, as if to show his surprise, and then he nodded, and his right hand touched the glass of orange juice that Anna had brought him. He seemed to want to take a sip, but suddenly stood up again.

Anna looked at Karenin, who came to her, whose tall body usually looked like a tall aspen, but now he seemed to be at a loss.

But Karenin is Karenin after all.

He doesn't do anything too gaffe, and this half minute has brought him back to his composure.

"That's good, what do you think?" Karenin said in a low voice.

If Anna had been nervous and at a loss a moment ago, she felt much better now.

"To be honest, a little nervous, I'm not sure if this is the best time." Anna decided to speak out calmly, and after the words came out, she felt that the suffocation in her heart had been evacuated a lot.

Karenin nodded slightly, indicating that he recognized Anna's concerns.

"We can't control the gaffe most of the time, but we still have time to prepare, Anna." As he spoke, he gently stroked Anna's cheek with his right hand, and as he slid down to her jaw, a kiss landed on Anna's forehead.

"You know, I thought about your many reactions before coming here." Anna said with a smile.

Karenin said: "So, is it the same as you think? ”

Anna didn't speak, just raised her hands, wrapped her arms around Karenin's neck, and kissed him on the lips.

A little later, Slyudin sent Seryosha back.

Anna and Karenin were going to explain to their son that he was going to have a younger brother or sister.

None of them used any kind of nonsense fairy tale as a metaphor, and they were very concise and to the point, very much in the style of the Karenin family.

Seryosha blinked and blinked, and then concluded: "So, I'm going to be an older brother?" ”

"Yes, we want to know if you're happy with that?" Anna asked, a little apprehensive.

"Why not?" Seryosha said excitedly, he got up from his chair, walked up to Anna, and raised his hand to gently touch Anna's abdomen.

"Is she here?"

"She?"

Seryosha looked at her mother, her eyes sparkled and said, "Can you make her a sister?" I love my sister! ”

"Seryosha, you know it's not up to your mother or your will." Karenin said.

Seryosha turned his head to look at his father: "But father, we always have to be hopeful, don't we?" He muttered to Anna's stomach again, "I'll pray." ”

"What if it's a younger brother?" Anna asked.

Seryosha's eyes widened, and he said half-loudly: "Then I will also be a good brother, but I don't think I can tie a bow or give him a doll." ”

Anna kissed Seryosha because he said something too sweet.

In the evening, Karenin telegraphed Obolansky to inform them and announced the incident at dinner, with both Slyudin and Vlammykir sending their blessings.

Now that Anna is pregnant, Karenin decides to stay here a little longer. Moreover, he received a telegram stating that during his absence, Karenin's nemesis had taken over the position that Karenin was said to have coveted.

"Are you okay?"

"Nothing bad, Anna, everything is fine." Karenin burned the telegram.

"Is it really okay for you to leave Petersburg for so long?" Anna asked Karenin, who laughed and said, "Somebody is desperate for me to do that." ”

The implication was that Karenin would have her own considerations, and Anna said no more.

She may have been a little smart, but Karenin was naturally more experienced in political matters than she was. From her observations, it seems that Karenin is waiting for his moment.

"You are very cunning, Mr. Karenin." Anna said with a smile.

Karenin threw her a serious face: "I will soon have a second child, and my wife needs my care." As he spoke, he took out a fountain pen in response to the fake invitation.

"It's not quite what you look like." Anna said, taking a look.

Karenin's handwriting has always been steady, he writes quickly, somewhat carelessly and emotionally, after all, it is only used to respond to that kind of person.

"If Mr. Stremov had a smart enough brain, he would have figured it out himself." Karenin said with a slight sarcasm.

"Actually, you're a little concerned." After the servant sent the letter out, Anna teased.

Karenin put on a calm face.

"I'm worried about Russia, they're giving a monkey a securities, and while it's not going to destroy our country, it's essential to lose face."

Anna laughed, and then reassured to be here for the time being. She understood that this was only temporary, and that for people like Karenin, only Petersburg was his battlefield. 166 Reading Network
