10. Ambition
After autumn, it's the New Year.
For Jia Hu, the New Year is just kowtowing to the elders in the morning, receiving the red envelopes from the elders, and keeping vigil with the elders at night, and there is no other difference - he still can't practice martial arts, can't write, and his daily task is to endorse.
Luckily, he already knew almost the words and could read on his own. The day before the New Year, that is, on the afternoon of the Chinese New Year's Eve, the whole mansion was busy, and Jia Hu slipped into his grandfather's study, intending to find some books to kill time.
Fingers slid over the rows of books, and Jia Hu still remembered the first time he came here last year to look for books.
He asked his grandfather, "If you want to read history, what should you read?" β
Jia Daishan's eyes seemed to flash with a hint of surprise, "How did Hu'er think of reading history books?" He thought that a child like Jia Hu, who had just started his life, would find some interesting books to read, such as "The Classic of Mountains and Seas" - which he liked very much when he was a child.
Jia Hu was silent for a moment, reading history makes a person wiseβhe wanted to say this, but he didn't think it seemed like a child's words. After thinking for a moment, Jia Hu spoke: "When my mother read the "Three Character Classic" to me, I asked my mother who wrote it, and my mother said that it was written by the Song people. When I asked what "Song" was, my mother only said that it was a dynasty in the past, and I would understand it when I studied history. In fact, Jia Hu wants to know, is this "Song" the "Song" he thinks?
In Jia Hu's previous life, he had never been exposed to anything from Chinese studies, and only roughly knew that the textbooks for Chinese enlightenment were San, Bai, Qian, and "Qionglin Kindergarten", etc., which were all available here. It is said that the dynasty mapped in "Dream of Red Mansions" is the Qing Dynasty, and Jia Hu denied this possibility from the beginning. First, the real Qing Dynasty did not have four kings and eight princes, and secondly, there were no braided heads and flag outfits here, and I had never heard of any words such as Manchu and Han. When Jia Hu was enlightened, Liu said that the name of the dynasty was Zhou, which confirmed Jia Hu's speculation.
So here's the question, Zhou? Is it the week of Xia Shang Zhou? However, the "Three Character Classic" was written by the Song people, and the previous history was roughly the same, but after the Yuan Dynasty, it was gone. Jahu was puzzled.
These confusions may be understood after reading the history books.
"So Hu'er wants to know about the change of dynasties?" Jia Daishan narrowed his eyes and made a conclusion: some talents that can be created are too ambitious.
That's a big question. Jia Hu swallowed, he knew that he sometimes didn't look like a child, but no matter how smart he was, he was still just a child. Please let it go~
Jia Hu raised his head and asked innocently, "Grandfather, what is the change of dynasty?" Is it said in the book that 'Xia Youyu, Shang Youtang, Zhou Wenwu, called the Three Kings'? β
"Oh? Hu'er's "Three Character Classic" remembers it very well. Do you know anything else? "Jia Daishan took the school test.
Jia Hu thought about it in embarrassment, his brows were tangled, he couldn't let me memorize all the history, right? Probably not, he said: "'Carry the chaos, know the rise and fall'? "Yes," Hu'er wants to read history books because history books 'contain chaos', and after reading them, they 'know the rise and fall'. β
What a perfect excuse!
Jia Hu was a little excited, but Jia Daishan sank his face when he heard this, "Nonsense! β
Jia Hu was stunned, and looked at him with some grievances.
Seeing Jia Hu's overwhelmed appearance, Jia Daishan came to his senses. In front of him was not a rough man in the barracks, but a Mengtong.
His face relaxed, and his voice was still majestic, "Hu'er, it's not enough to remember the "Three Character Classic", you have to put it in your heart. β
After saying the above words in a serious manner, Jia Daishan suddenly asked, "What is behind 'for scholars'?" β
"As a scholar, there must be a beginning. At the end of primary school, to four books. β¦β¦ The scriptures are clear, and the party reads the child. β¦β¦ Through the scriptures, read the history. Jia Hu carried it on his back as he pondered what it meant. When he memorized these sentences, Jia Hu was ashamed to find that he really didn't take it to heart.
Reading is also particular, when to read what books, the "Three Character Classic" has long been indicated. Now that he has not finished elementary school, he is going to read history. Jia Hu understood that his grandfather was trying not to be too ambitious, and he hadn't learned to walk yet, so he wanted to run. Although this was not his intention, it made Jia Hu realize his problem.
The three views of ancient scholars are their way of thinking, which is shaped by these enlightenment books that seem to be less important than the Four Books and the Five Classics. Jia Hu relied on the broader vision of modern people and disdained to accept their brainwashing, but he stumbled here to know how powerful they were. Now he just reads as he pleases, and does not follow the teachings, and his grandfather sees it, and if he makes people see his disrespect for the royal family somewhere in the future, wouldn't it be even worse? Not only is it bad, it will even affect the family!
So, after so long, he still has "three wrong views"? Moreover, I really hate the feudal monarchy.
Jia Hu's mood was a little delicate.
He said to himself, you have to hide yourself deeper, preferably like an ancient through and through - until you can control your own destiny.
Jia Hu obediently confessed his mistake to his grandfather, and finally found a few books on enlightenment.
Since then, when studying in Jia Daishan's study, Jia Hu has not only cooked the rolling melons on the back of the book, but also memorized his own notes on it. There are some things that are different from my own concepts, and I must also point them out and "debate" with Jia Daishan, instead of holding them in my heart and silently drawing a fork.
Jia Hu understands everything, Jia Daishan is secretly happy, and thinks that this child has understanding. In the next few days, while reading, some of Jia Hu's different views also attracted Jia Daishan's attention.
As we all know, ancient texts and poems have no punctuation marks. They call "broken sentences" "sentence reading".
One day, Jia Huxin learned a poem.
This poem is familiar to everyone, it is "Qingming" by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu.
"During the Qingming Festival, it rained a lot, and the pedestrians on the road wanted to break their souls. Where is the restaurant? The shepherd boy refers to Xinghua Village. β
Jia Hu remembered an interesting story he had read on the Internet and asked, "Grandfather, why does it have to be read like this?" β
Jadaishan motioned for him to continue.
Based on his vague memory, Jia Hu said: "I think it can also be read like this: 'During the Qingming Festival, it rains, and people on the road want to break their souls. I would like to ask the restaurant, where is the shepherd boy? Yao refers to Xinghua Village. ββ
Jia Daishan smiled. He asked, "Does every sentence rhyme?" β
"Not strictly rhyme. -- But it's in the form of a word. β
Indeed, such poems are read in the form of words, and they are not generally funny. But this poem was written by a poet in the Tang Dynasty, when the word was not yet recognized by the literati, and it was not until the Song Dynasty that the lyricist was dominant. Now, although it is said that Tang and Song poems are tied, only poems are required to be written during the imperial examination. If it is said that for governing the country and economics, poetry is a trail, then lyrics and songs are a trail in the trail, such a sentence reading, interesting is interesting, and it can also be used to have fun with friends in talking and laughing, but it is difficult to get into the hall of elegance. β
"So, isn't anyone reading it wrong?"
Jia Daishan was very strange, "What could anyone read wrong?" That's how everybody reads it. As the saying goes: 'If you are familiar with 300 Tang poems, you will not be able to compose poems and chant them.' Even if Mr. has not taught this poem, those who are familiar with Tang poetry can see its rhyme, and then understand the sentence. β
"Then what if a Mongolian boy like me knows a few words, but is not taught by my husband and does not know how to read sentences?"
"Such a person is not even a scholar, so why bother about it?"
"Everyone in the world wants to study, isn't it worth the trouble to solve their difficulties in reading?"
Jia Hu was very angry, but Jia Daishan didn't believe that it was difficult to read the sentence.
"That's it! If you don't know how to read a sentence, won't you ask Mr. If you can't afford to hire a gentleman, why spend money on books you can't read or read? β
Jia Hu was speechless and said strongly: "If punctuation can be implemented, wouldn't those who don't know how to read sentences be able to read books?" Isn't that a good thing? β
Jia Daishan asked curiously, "What is punctuation?" β
Jia Hu roughly said that the function of using this to read sentences is just to put forward such a concept, modern punctuation, but it is not said.
Satisfying his curiosity, Jia Daishancai said, "It may be useful, but it is not necessary." Readers can break sentences by the meaning of the sentence, and punctuation is redundant. β
Jia Hu was very frustrated, the seniors were obviously very successful in promoting punctuation, why didn't it work with him?
Seeing that his favored grandson lowered his head in frustration, Jia Daishan comforted him and said: "Hu'er, at your age, it is already remarkable that you can come up with such a convenient way to deal with others." But don't think too deeply, so the plaything is discouraged, and you miss the big thing of reading. β
"Yes." Jia Hu said in a muffled voice.
After a few days, Jia Hu thought that it seemed that the predecessors were holding up the banner of "punctuation is conducive to clarifying the meaning of the text", and it was an example without punctuation, which was easy to cause ambiguity. Is it a "redundant move" when it comes to me?
I must have given the wrong example! Jia Hu burst into tears.
However, he had not yet learned the Analects. This matter is buried in Jia Hu's heart, and it has been until today.
Jia Hu's fingers wandered through the rows of various editions of the Analects, wondering whether to tell his grandfather that he had read the Analects in advance. However, it would not be wonderful if my grandfather misunderstood that he was trying to prove the "punctuation theory". Jia Hu thought regretfully, it seems that it is better to wait for himself to grow up and bring it up inadvertently.
didn't forget about the matter, Jia Hu found the place where the history books were placed, and flipped through them locally.
Jia Hu's eyes were finally fixed on the "Founding Chronicle" in his hand, which recorded some major events at the beginning and end of the founding of the dynasty. Jia Hu found that history turned a corner after the Yuan Dynasty. Originally, Zhu Yuanzhang sat in the world, and the country name was Ming, here Zhu Yuanzhang was just a relatively famous general, and there was another person who ascended the throne, and the country name became Zhou.
It seems that here is the Zhou dynasty that replaced the Zhu family.
"Since the founding of the Great Zhou Dynasty, it has been 70 years, Zhou Chengzu opened the country, the world is undecided, it is located in Zhou Yingzong, until the later years of Zhou Yingzong, the world is initially peaceful, and the four kings and eight princes are sealed."
Jia Hu looked at a passage in the book and fell into deep thought.
Dongping, Xining, Nan'an, and Beijing, the titles of the four kings represent the wish of Yingzong. The emperor wanted the world to be calm, but he did not have the belligerent spirit of Emperor Zhu, since the later years of Yingzong, he had not fought any major wars, and the guards on the border had friction with the surrounding small countries from time to time, but they did not fight, maintaining the illusion of peace. The small countries in the Western Regions, the Japanese in the southeast, and the Mongolia in the north are not easy to get along with, and sooner or later they will fight one day.
Remember that in "Dream of Red Mansions", Tanchun married far away because the prince of Nan'an lost the battle?
Jia Hu was thinking in his heart.
No matter what he was thinking about, he put the book he had read back in its place, and Jia Hu went out with another copy of "A Thousand Poems".
After keeping vigil at night and admiring the fireworks of the imperial city, Jia Hu fell asleep. After Chinese New Year's Eve, I read as usual, and there is nothing else to tell.
Liu's due date is also in the first month, and the whole year is cautious, for fear that something will happen to her. Jia Amnesty is also worried that this Jia Lian, who came early, may also advance the time of Jia Hu's premature death, keep a tight eye on the yard, and even the nerves are tense during the Chinese New Year's Eve vigil, and the Lantern Festival rarely goes out.
On the twentieth day of the first month, the Liu family launched.
