Chapter 495: History and Culture
After Qiu Chuji and Genghis Khan separated, Genghis Khan was very concerned about Qiu Chuji, and he wrote to Qiu Chuji many times to express his deep longing. "Journey to the West in Changchun" also contains: "Marshal Jia Changzhi is here on his own, and he has passed the decree: The immortals have been in spring and summer, and the road is easy, is the food and post riding good?" To Xuande (now Xuanhua, Hebei) and other places, do you care about the museum? Is the summoning in the next household? I often think of the immortals, and the immortals do not forget me. Marshal Jia Chang came from Genghis Khan's station and conveyed Genghis Khan's greetings: "The gods left me in the spring, and now it's summer, and it's hard along the way, is it good to eat?" Is it good to live? Is the car good to drive? When I arrived in Xuande and other places, was the magistrate's arrangement satisfactory? Have those who have come to Me greet you? I often think of the gods, and the gods should not forget me. It can be seen how thoughtful Genghis Khan was about Qiu's wit.
Qiu Chuji left Genghis Khan and walked for about a year. In the spring of 1224, Qiu Chuji returned from his westward journey and arrived in Beijing. For more than three years of the rest of his life, he never went to Shandong again
In 1227, Genghis Khan attacked Western Xia with all his might, and the war was tense, but he still could not forget Qiu's chance. "Changchun Real Journey to the West" contains: "On May 20, on the fifth day, the Taoist Wang Zhiming went to Qinzhou, and passed the decree to change the Beigong Xiandao to Wan'an Palace (south of Taiye Pond in Beihai, Beijing), and Changchun Temple to Changchun Palace (now Baiyun Temple). "On the twenty-fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, the Taoist Wang Zhiming came from Qinzhou, and he brought the holy decree of Genghis Khan, which said that the Beigong Xiandao was changed to Wan'an Palace, and the Changchun Temple was changed to Changchun Palace, so that all the monks and cultivators in the world should obey the management of Qiu Chuji, and gave the Golden Tiger Plate, emphasizing that all Taoist affairs are decided by Qiu Chuji.
Generally speaking, the place where Buddhists practice is called a temple, the place where Taoists practice is called a temple, and the residence of the emperor is called a palace. Genghis Khan changed the "view" to "palace", which shows that Genghis Khan regarded Qiu Chuji as an emperor. The high level of courtesy can be seen from this.
From Genghis Khan and Qiu Chuji to see each other pass away, before and after more than 5 years, they did not get along for a long time, but Qiu Chuji's idea of "stop killing" deeply affected Genghis Khan, and then the Mongolian iron cavalry battle, greatly reducing the damage to civilians. Today, in the Qiu Zu Hall in the Baiyun Temple in Beijing (the descendants changed "Qiu" to "Qiu" because of avoiding the name of Confucius), there is a couplet written by Emperor Qianlong: "Eternal life, do not eat Xia to seek secrets; Stop killing in a word, and know that there are miraculous achievements in helping the world", which not only expresses the admiration for Qiu Chuji, but also expresses the praise for Genghis Khan's kindness, and at the same time, it also summarizes the sincere and deep friendship between Genghis Khan and Qiu Chuji. In 2013, the film "Stop Killing Order" directed by Wang Ping and written by Ran Ping was staged, which was based on the story of Qiu Chuji's westward journey to meet Genghis Khan.
In the spring of 1224, Qiu Chuji was invited by Yanjing officials to preside over the Tianchangguan. In 1227, Genghis Khan issued an edict to change the name of Tianchangguan to Changchun Palace (now Baiyun Temple, Beijing), and gave the "Golden Tiger Plate" to "all Taoist affairs depend on the "immortals" to deal with it", that is, the edict ordered Qiu to take charge of Taoism in the world.
On the ninth day of the seventh lunar month in the 22nd year of Mongolian Taizu (the fourth year of the Jin Dynasty, 1227), Qiu Chuji died in the Baoxuan Hall of Changchun Palace at the age of 80. On the first anniversary of his death, his disciples buried him in the Chushun Hall in the Changchun Palace. In 1269, Kublai Khan, the ancestor of the Yuan dynasty, issued an edict to confer on him the title of "Changchun Acting Bishop Zhenren".
Qiu has a high literary accomplishment, his Taoist words are the best works of the same kind, the predecessors spoke very highly of it, Mr. Tang Guizhang's "Quanjin Yuan Ci" includes all the content of his lyrics, Gu Sili edited "Selected Yuan Poems", Tao Xiang supplemented "Jing Song Jin Yuan Ming Ci", Zhou Yongxian edited "Tang Song Jin Yuan Ci Hook Shen", Zhu Zumou "Zhai Village Series" also included his poems. Qiu Ci is included in the "Qiangxi Collection", which is mainly written by Qiu Chuji when he lived in Qiangxi and Longmen Cultivation, and was later edited and collected by his disciples, a total of six volumes, and "Orthodox Taoist Collection" was included in the Taiping Department. Mr. Tang Guizhang's "Quanjin Yuan Ci" includes all the contents of his lyrics, which is "based on photocopied gold copies and Taoist proofreadings of Zhu Ben", and 19 poems are added according to related books, so that Mr. Tang Guizhang has collected all the Qiu Ci.
Qiu Chuji's posthumous works include "Da Dan Zhizhi", "Theory of Regency News", "Jixi Collection" and "Ming Dao Collection". His poetry works have a certain representation at the turn of Jin and Yuan, and his works are selected in the "Yuan Poetry Tailoring" and "Cilin Chronicle" compiled by later generations. The volume of "Jixi Ci" was compiled by Zhu Xiaocheng, a close friend, in the "Xinjiang Village Series". Qiu Chuji's journey to the west is detailed by his disciple Li Zhichang's "Journey to the West in Changchun".
Qiu Chuji pointed out in the "Quotations of the Patriarch of Changchun": "The form of the born and the dead is also, the nature of the non-born and the extinguished, and the god is also. The tangible is bad, the heaven and the earth are also illusory bodies, and the yuan will be exhausted. There is only a little bit of sunlight, beyond the calamity, in the body is the sea of sex, that is, the Yuan sea. "The true path of the whole truth is based on the true basis of the immortal becoming an immortal, which is beyond the way of life and death or the way of becoming an immortal, but only in the heart of the body seriousness. "According to the view of the true path, the true nature of one's own mind is inherently indebted, but it is only because it is blinded and confused by evil thoughts and unconscious, as long as we work the mind and realize the true nature in the place where one thought is not born, one can have an epiphany in one thought, and even go beyond life and death." This cultivation line of the Quanzhen Path, which focuses on cultivating the mind in order to transcend life and death, is very close to the way of Buddhism. What are the specific practices for cultivating mindfulness?
Qiu Chuji pointed out in "Quotations from the Northern Journey": "But the heart is fixed, walking, living, sitting and lying are all walkways. If the heart is determined, there is also a do, and so is inaction; The mind is uncertain, and it is not doing anything, nor is it doing nothing. In other words, the first thing to do is to have a calm mind, so that we can get rid of delusions, lust, and old habits. Therefore, Qiu Shi said in the poem "Sheben Chases the End": "One thought without life is freedom." "Another example of his "Moon Fairy? Mountain Dwelling" cloud: "Born Geng Jie, love is lonely, and he is free from the clouds." There are a thousand things to be famous for, and I have hung on it in my heart. "His "Uncommon Thoughts? The first film of "Sex Tong" shows this very well: "Farun is turning at the beginning, the wind is wise, and the steep feeling is cool and infinite." The bright color condenses the air and the air will be open-minded. The five thieves ran away, fled three feet, and there was no trace on the surface. The mind is peaceful, and the halberd does not move. Another example: "Put the big four, and you can do nothing." Xiang Biyan Ancient Cave, completely life, facing the wind and the moon, smiling proudly. A song of Xuange, a thousand bells of wine, the cycle of the sun and the moon is not old. Therefore, Zhou Yi said: "Qiu Changchun is a Taoist language, and there are also words of fine police. "His "No Vulgar Thoughts? Lingxu Palace Pear Blossom Words" is the most appreciated by later generations: "The spring outing is vast, it is the season of pear blossoms every year and cold food. The white brocade is fragrant without lines, and the jade trees are piled up with snow. The silent night is heavy, the floating light is hazy, and the cold soaking dissolves the moon. In the heavens on earth, the rotten silver glow shines through. It looks like a real person, the sky is beautiful, and the spirit is comfortable and clean. Wanhua is uneven, who believes, and is not in the same column as Qunfang. Haoqi Qingying, immortal Zhuo Zhuo, it is difficult to distinguish between the soil. Yaotai returned, and the cave was clear. ”
