Chapter 229: Failed Lawsuit
A full day at Hogsmeade was a pleasant experience, but it didn't last long for the day. Upon returning to the Gryffindor Tower, Hermione dropped off her package when she received a letter from Hagrid.
"Hagrid's letter?, remember, today is the day of his Hippogriff's going to London for trial. Maybe this is the result of the trial. With that, Hermione unfolded the letter and placed it on the coffee table to look at it with Ryan.
The parchment on which the letter was written was wet, and the ink on it was blurred by large teardrops, making it difficult to make out in some places. Dear Hermione: We lost. Allow me to take it back to Hogwarts. The date of the execution is yet to be decided. Buckbeak loves London. I will not forget all the help you gave us.
"It wasn't appropriate for Hagrid to bring the Hippogriff to the third-grade classroom, but it wasn't his fault that the accident was not his own. In particular, Malfoy's deliberate violation of the rules after Hagrid's lecture was not listened to should be the main culprit. How can you blame Buckbeak for all the blame? So Buckbeak shouldn't be put to death. Hermione said after a quick glance at the letter.
"Malfoy's dad basically controls the committee, and he does what he wants them to do. Ryan replied. "You know he's a man with a lot of power in the wizarding world. The committee is a completely marginalized guy in the Ministry of Magic, how can they turn against a hippony because of a winged beast? β
"So what are we supposed to do?" Hermione's tone sounded a little helpless. After all, it's always a very bad thing to watch an innocent life pass away without being powerless.
"I think we can do something less legal. Ryan whispered. "As far as I know, according to the Ministry of Magic's process, the final appeal will come directly to the school. Haigo's place is very close to the Forbidden Forest, we can ask Wolf to help us find some friends, and once the final verdict is out, we can directly ask his friends to let Buckbeak go. β
"It doesn't bother Wolf, does it?" Hermione was a little happy at first, but quickly became worried. "We shouldn't implicate our friends in our business"
"Well, I can ask. Ryan patted the back of her hand and comforted. "If we can, ask him for help, if it doesn't work, we'll think of other ways. β
After making an appointment with Wolf in the Emerald Dream that night, she and Hermione met Wolf from the woods at the edge of the Forbidden Forest at noon the next day.
"Thank you for bringing the beef-flavored sandwiches. Wolf said as he ate the gift that the Duke of Honey had bought for him. "By the way, what are you looking for me for?"
"Well, there's a Hippogriff named Buckbeak who could be innocently killed, so I wanted to ask if you can find a helper to save it?" Hermione asked quickly.
"Where are they going to kill that poor animal? We can't do anything if it's too far. It seemed that Wolf was also very concerned about this matter, and he quickly stopped chewing and asked seriously.
"Right on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, at Hagrid's hut. Ryan replied.
"That's fine, I know a lot of friends with the centaurs. When the time comes, just mobilize them. β
"It doesn't pose a danger to you, does it?" asked Hermione, a little worried.
"No, don't worry. There's no way humans are going to kill the unicorns. Ryan did the unicorns a big favor last time, and this time to save an innocent life, I think the unicorns should be more than willing to do it. Wolf nodded.
"Thank you! Thank you!" Ryan and the others quickly thanked excitedly, because they knew that unicorns were very shy magical creatures, and their willingness to help in such a situation was much more than they expected.
"Then let's wait for the specific situation to be determined later, and then make detailed arrangements. Wolf concluded.
With the good news, Ryan and Hermione went to Hagrid's hut after dinner to inquire about the trial. Of course, given that Hagrid was a man of temperament, they decided to keep their plan of action a secret.
He knocked on the door of the cabin, and it was a moment before Hagrid opened it with a sad face. "Oh, it's you two. Come in and sit down. β
After bringing tea and snacks to the two of them, Hagrid collapsed into the couch feebly. "It's all my fault this time. Stammering and unable to speak. They were all dressed in black robes and sat gloomily on it. I've missed a few of the cases you've looked up for me, Hermione. At first, some of the people sitting above nodded slightly. Then Lucius Malfoy stood up and spoke, and the committee did exactly what he asked..."
At this point, Hagrid buried his face in his handkerchief again and began to weep. Ryan hurriedly stepped forward and patted his arm to comfort him. "Didn't you say there's another chance to appeal? β
"No, not really. Hagrid sniffed loudly. "I know at today's trial that the committee is completely at the mercy of Lucius Malfoy. So I can only promise to let Vic live the happiest days of his life before he dies. After all, I owe it..."
"It seems that the situation is very serious now, and we can only save Buckbeak by means other than litigation. After coming out of Hagrid, Hermione said to Ryan on the way.
"I remember that you used to be the most rule-abiding, so how could you be willing to use it, umβoutside the rules?" asked Ryan in a playful tone.
"The problem is that Malfoy doesn't intend to play by the rules, and I don't think it's okay to do something outside the rules in order to save an innocent life. Hermione said solemnly.
It seems that after all that has been going through, everyone is going to change.
Back at the tower, they had planned to tell Harry about the interrogation, as it was Harry and Ron who first offered to help Hagrid when Ryan was on a study tour in Brazil.
However, after searching around the tower, Harry was nowhere to be found, so they had no choice but to take their textbooks and materials to the library to study.
It wasn't until the next morning at breakfast that Ryan read the Daily Prophet cast by an owl. Sirius appeared on the streets of Hogsmeade at dinner yesterday afternoon, holding on to his body before being taken to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries and Injuries, asking the villagers to inform the school that he and his godson, Harry Potter, could meet.
Eventually, he fainted, and Harry, accompanied by Professor McGonagall, traveled to St. Mungo's to see his godfather.
At least that's a lot better than the original story, Ryan thought to himself after reading the contents of the newspaper.
