Commemoration 9-18

Commemorating 9-18, Don't Forget the National Shame!

The September 18 Incident (also known as the Mukden Incident and the Wicker Lake Incident) was a war of aggression against China deliberately created and launched by Japan in Northeast China, and was the beginning of the Japanese imperialist invasion of China.

On the night of September 18, 1931, under the arrangement of the Japanese Kwantung Army, the railway "garrison" blew up the tracks of the Japanese-built South Manchurian Railway near Wicker Lake in Shenyang, and blamed the Chinese army. The Japanese army used this as an excuse to bombard Shenyang's Beidaying for the "September 18 Incident". The next day, the Japanese army invaded Shenyang, and then occupied the three northeastern provinces one after another. In February 1932, the entire Northeast fell. After that, Japan established a puppet regime of Manchukuo in Northeast China, and began a 14-year enslavement and colonization of the people of Northeast China.

The "September 18 Incident" was the inevitable result of the aggressive and expansionist policy pursued by Japanese imperialism against China for a long time, and was also an important step taken in an attempt to turn China into its exclusive colony. At the same time, it marked the beginning of the World Anti-Fascist War and opened the prelude to the Eastern Theater of World War II.
