Chapter 13: Princess Elia
"Snowflakes burn,
Dew jumps.
clouds shattered,
Fish run.
I see you,
Crying and smiling. β
Ilia held her hands up in front of her eyes, her gaze unhindered across the backs of her hands to the opposite side. If there is a big mirror opposite now, and you are sure that you are not in it, ha, this skill is awesome, and you will not lose when playing hide and seek.
But no one was playing games with her at the moment, and who would play with the air, and the little princess had been standing here for a long time, when three peasants with carriages, two milking cows, and a monk had passed by, and only the farmer's big greyhound barked at her, and the others ignored her. Also, even I look like a clip art drawn with a pencil in my own eyes, and others can't see me.
At first, Ilia thought it was good, at least she didn't have to worry about being caught by Solanda's men, and she could play whatever she wanted in her own world, but after a long day, Nurse Weima hadn't come to find her, which couldn't help but make her a little anxious.
Will Weimar Nurse forget about me? She's got so much to do, adults, she's always busy, so it's best for the kids not to trouble them, just wait a little longer, and I can have another tea party with Kima, or play the sequel to Princess and Wyvern Knight.
Ilea sat down again on the big rock on the side of the road, put the doll in her arms on her lap and arranged the skirt for it, don't look at her own ephedra pajamas, but she is very careful to tidy up the doll, the folds of the skirt must have 24, not one more, the doll holds a small teacup in her hand, elegantly tilts her head to taste the invisible tea, and the feet under the skirt must also be placed in a proper manner, which is like a noble lady.
"Hey, you." The sudden sound of a boy's voice startled Ilia, and she searched around to find a boy about her own age, with short, clean hair, a freckled face, and a patched leather wallet and wide khaki trousers, staring at her at the edge of the woods not far behind her.
"Can you see me?" Surprised and delighted, Ilia hurriedly stood up and ran towards him.
"Don't come here." Not only was the boy unfriendly, but he instantly had a bow in his hand, and before Ilia could stop his foot, he was about to draw the bow and shoot, "I don't know you." β
"So what?" Ilia's eyes widened, "Just because you don't know me, you're going to have to shoot me?" "Boys are so unreasonable, no wonder Solandar always calls them stupid and looks down on them. But Sorenda seemed to look down on anyone, and Ilia shrugged.
"I thought I knew you, I thought, I thought it was a prank," the boy opened and closed his fingers as he held the bow, apparently nervous. "Who are you? Where did it come from? How did you have this magic? β
"I-" Ilia's tongue bent and she instantly gave herself a new name, "My name is Iggy, what about you?" "Ilia and Kima, we're playing a new game.
"Lemon. Uh, you haven't answered my question yet. The boy licked his lips.
"Oh, lemon, it's a funnier name than mine." The little girl Yiqi paced the small square step and slowly rubbed in front of the lemon, "I'm waiting for someone here, if you have time, you can play tea with me, if you don't want to play, you can chat with me, but I just don't want to answer your questions." β
"That's what you summoned me for?" Lemon asked, puzzled.
"Summoning?" Iggie was even more puzzled.
"That song you sing, that's the key that summons us."
That song? Iggie struggled to remember, and finally remembered what song she had just hummed, "The snow burns, and the dew jumps." The clouds shattered, and the fish ran. I see you, crying and smiling. None of the lyrics were true, so Iggy happily sang them again and asked Lemon, "You think I have to sing well, don't you?" β
Lemon's face darkened, "Please stop singing, aren't you really my clansman?" Doing so will only cause us trouble. β
Iggie shook her long brown-red curly hair and said unhappily, "What trouble will you get by singing a song, your people are too stingy." β
"Hey, that's not a good idea to talk about others, little girl." At the edge of the woods came another man, who looked like a king-sized lemon, but he wore a floppy hat with blue feathers on his head, a wide gray cloak dragged behind his back, and his boots were dirty, crumpled and stained with sporadic horse manure.
"You're scaring me, sir." Iggie politely tugged at the corner of her skirt and curtsy.
"I'm not an adult," the young man laughed, "but you've scared me, and we're even." He winked at Lemon and walked over and put his arm around Iggie's shoulder, "Come on dear, it's getting dark, and it's not our people's job to leave the little girl alone by the King's Road." It's not far from our house, and I have a sister who's as old as you, go and play with her for a night, she can do anything, pretend to be a family drinker, have a tea party with the dolls, play Wagda chess, dance the ferry dance, everything......"
Izzy was fascinated by the beautiful games, some of which she had never even heard of, but she suddenly remembered that she had to wait for Weimar Nurse, and she couldn't just walk away with strangers, "I'm sorry, I have to wait for someone." She said firmly, but her eyes betrayed her, she really wanted to go.
"Oath-keeping child." The young man sighed, "Then I'll have to leave Lemon with you, and I'll go home and get you something to eat first." β
"You're so nice, sir." Iggy almost wanted to pounce on him and kiss him on the cheek.
The young man smiled eerily at her, turned and disappeared into the woods.
"So," Iggy regained her interest in the game, turning to Lemon, "will you do the Dodo Dance?" β
"I, I'm a boy, I can't dance." Lemon stammered.
"Nonsense, all the boys in the court can dance!" Iggy didn't know how to dance at all, she just wanted Lemon to teach her, but she didn't expect him to either, it was really disappointing, she had to choreograph the steps, pretend to dance, but in fact she just stepped on the messy footprints.
"Well, it's not like that," said the boy suddenly, "I've seen Sirin do the Dance, and her face is only facing forward, not turning, like this. Lemon crossed her hands on her hips, her back and neck straight, and her legs swayed from side to side like cramps.
Iki laughed, snot almost flying out of her nose.
At that moment, there was a sudden darkness all around, and then her feet were dangling in the air, and the whole world was flipped horriblyβher head was covered with a black cloth bag, and she was picked up from behind and carried on her shoulders, and no matter how much she kicked and screamed, she could not escape the powerful arm, and at the bottom of her eye, a blue feather swept in the twilight.
I'm the dividing line*******
This valley does not exist on any map at all, and the inhabitants who inhabit it have given it an apt name - Shadow. Walking along the winding Valley of Shadows, you'll find at first completely roadless, surrounded by thorny dark green coniferous forests, huge gray-green sentinel trees towering overhead, and spruce, fir, and pine. However, as long as you find the right incision and take the right path, you will suddenly open up again, the calm blue lake lies between the gray and hazy stone peaks, narrow and deep, the winding hunting trail crosses the high saddle between the two stone peaks, the thin soldier pine clings to the surrounding hillside, and in the distance, a tinkling waterfall flows down the mountainside, and the water falls, leading to a patchwork of stone towns in the valley.
Along the way, Iggie's screams gave the lifeless valley a little popularity, and all kinds of birds returned to their warm nests after a day's travel, and they were all startled by the little girl's singing all the way.
"Put me down!" Iggy finally exclaimed in frustration. Don't ask others to do anything until your life is at stake. This is the supreme creed that Mother and Weimar Nurse have repeatedly admonished themselves. But this time was an exception, because if she was hung upside down a few steps like this, she would vomit out what she had eaten yesterday and the day before yesterday.
Blue Feather obediently put down Iggy as they reached the middle of the town.
All sorts of people came out of the heaps and the mills, and they gathered together in a circle, and surrounded Iggy and the others in the middle. They removed Iggy's blindfold and looked at her panicked face. Iggie bit her lip tightly and glared back at them, her nails clasped tightly into her chubby palms, and she didn't make a sound even though she was shivering.
The stranger's betrayal reminds Iggie of what Solanda had done to herself and Vanessa three days ago. Why do they always change their faces when I'm unsuspecting, is there something wrong with me? Iggie looked at the lemon beside her, and he was still carrying Kima for her, but he never dared to meet her gaze.
"Who are you, child?" Out of the crowd came a middle-aged man in a yellow shirt, his eyes shining with peace and compassion in the light of the night and the surrounding torches.
He reminded Iggy of his father, the man who always smiled at her, and Mom, Vanessa, and Weimar, and she wanted to go back to the halls of Neverwinter and sit warmly around them, drinking a bowl of Weimar's wheat cheese puree, with a spoonful of butter and a dollop of honey. Thinking of this, she rubbed her stomach, and the stomach that she wanted to vomit just now growled now.
"What's wrong?" A haggard-looking woman with messy gray hair squeezed in from the crowd, and the kind-eyed man didn't know what to say, so she looked at Iggy, "I haven't seen this kid either." β
"She said her name was Iggy." Lemon answered for her. "I heard her sing while playing on the King's Road, but I found that she had the same magic as we did. Then she sang it again, and Simon went. β
Simon the Blue Feather grinned and said, "Yes, the little one is so energetic, it took me a lot of effort to get her back, and lo and behold, her sleeves are all torn by her." β
"Who are you? Why our magic? The woman crouched down and looked at Itchy in a kind tone, "Sue me, child." β
"I don't." Iggy didn't have much affection for these people, she turned to Lemon and held out her hand, "Give me back Kima, I'm going home." β
Lemon handed Kima over without even thinking about it, and Iggie held the doll and looked at the people in front of her vigilantly, stepping back step by step.
"Of course, kid, you can go home." The woman found that she did not want to go against the child's wishes anyway, but she insisted on finding out where she came from, "You have to tell us where you live before we can send you home." β
"I, I'm living in Winterfell," Iggie looked at her incredulously, "are you really going to send me home?" β
"Winterfell?" "Oh!" "Hood's wife seems to have gone there." There was a lot of gossip in the crowd.
"As long as you tell me why there is invisibility magic, I promise to send you back to Winterfell early tomorrow morning." The woman looked at Iggy encouragingly, and now, she had made a rough judgment from the way Iggie was dressed and the delicate doll in her hand, but she wasn't sure yet.
"Weimar wants to play a game with me," Iggy thought for a moment, "find someone to play." She puffed white smoke out of her eyes, and when the smoke covered me, I became transparent. She asked me to hide in the woods on the King's Road, and if she couldn't find me, let me sing that song, and she would come. Iggie said disappointedly, "But I sang it, and she still didn't come." β
"Weimar." "Sure enough, it's Weima." People started whispering again.
"You know Weimar?" Iggy asked hopefully.
"I'm afraid so." The woman and the kind-eyed man looked at each other, the others nodded in unison, and the woman raised her sallow face and smiled hard, "If I'm not mistaken, you're Princess Vanessa, right?" β
"Vanessa?" Iggy smiled, "No, that's a princess, I'm not." "It's another game, a game that doesn't let strangers know who they are, and she and Weimar never get tired of it, and now she's glad it came in handy.
"So you'reβ"
"I'm Iggy." Iggy stretched out her little hand and patted her belly, "Now Iggie is hungry and wants to eat roast lamb with pepper and cheese pudding." β
