004 Conversation at the Leaky Cauldron
On the last day of the summer vacation, Hermione arrived in Diagon Alley, and on the same day, the Weasleys finally ended their vacation in Egypt and planned to spend the rest of their vacation at the Leaky Cauldron.
"Hello, Lawrence, nice to meet you." Percy walked over and shook Lawrence's hand as if they had never met,
"Ugh...... Hello, Percy." Lawrence raised an eyebrow, and it glanced at the twins, seeing that they were grinning,
"I heard you're a fifth-year prefect, and I must say, that's great news." Percy said with some conceit, the male student council president badge on his chest shining,
"You, prefect?" As if he had discovered a new world, George pushed Percy away and shook Lawrence's hand warmly with both hands, "It's great to see you, Mr. Rovande, I mean, Mr. Prefect."
"It's our pleasure," Fred pushed George away, and bowed deeply to Lawrence, "It's wonderful, sir."
Percy ignored them and turned to shake hands with Harry, who had just returned to the bar, and the twins leaned over again, and Lawrence noticed that Hermione was holding a big ginger cat in addition to a large bag of books,
"Yo, Crookshan?" Lawrence looked at the cat and said hello, and before the end of the holiday, he would go to see the big smart cat whenever he had free time, and the two sides were also familiar with each other.
"Do you know him?" Hermione asked in some surprise, and Crookshank Mountain let out a slight snoring sound, which was considered to have said hello,
"Oh, of course, he refused to let me buy it." Lawrence laughed, looking at the twins who were joking, "I was going to introduce him to the twins, but he had already chosen you to be his master."
"Oh, that's enough, Fred, George." Mrs. Weasley shouted, stopping the twins' playfulness, pointing to the badge on Percy's chest and telling Lawrence and Harry, "The second male student council president in our family."
"It must be the last one." Fred muttered,
"I think so," said Mrs. Weasley, "and although your grades seem to be doing well, I don't think you're always reassuring, unlike Lawrence."
"This guy is a monster," George protested, "please compare normal wizards to us."
"We want to live our lives to the fullest," Fred said, "and of course, Lawrence always makes our lives very fulfilling."
Ginny giggled and snickered,
"You should give your sister a good example." Mrs. Weasley said loudly,
"Ginny has other brothers to set an example to, Mother." Percy said with some arrogance, "I'll go change my clothes first and then come to dinner."
"Why didn't we use magic to put him in the pyramid?" Fred asked in a low voice with some annoyance, and George also looked suffocated,
"Their move was discovered by Mom." Ginny whispered to Lawrence, Harry, and Hermione while Mrs. Weasley wasn't looking, "though they insisted that Percy himself had touched the pyramid mechanism."
Because there were so many of them, Mr. Tom put the three tables side by side, so the group ate this sumptuous dinner, and when they were full, they returned to the room to pack their bags, and after Lawrence stuffed some of his brick books into the suitcase, Percy and Ron's argument grew louder, Lawrence walked out of the room, and Harry was already standing in the door of their room,
"Spotted rat tonic." Ron's voice came from the room, accompanied by the cacophony of rummaging through the cabinets, "I guess I might stay in the bar."
"If you don't find my badge, don't leave." Percy yelled loudly, Lawrence probably knew what was going on,
"I'll help you get the medicine, I've got my stuff packed." Harry said to Ron, and he turned to see Lawrence,
"Do you think it's normal that Fred and George didn't come out to see that they were so noisy?" Lawrence smiled and whispered to Harry, and then he said in his normal voice, "Oh, Harry, I'll go with you to find it, it's always quicker for two people, right?"
Harry smiled knowingly, and as they passed the reception room on their way to the bar, Lawrence and Harry both heard something - the Weasleys' voices, they seemed to be arguing over something, and Lawrence and Harry looked at each other.
"We should tell him." Mr. Weasley said angrily, "Harry has a right to know, but you always insist on treating Harry as a child, he's thirteen years old, and—"
"Oh my God, he's going to be terrified," Mrs. Weasley screamed, "Do you want Harry to let those things haunt him when he goes back to school?" He didn't know he would be happier—"
"I don't want to upset him, I just want to keep him on his toes." Mr. Weasley retorted, "You know that Ron and Harry went to the Forbidden Forest twice, but you can't let Harry run around like this, do you know what danger he would have if he came out of the house that day? If the knight's bus hadn't picked him up in time, he would have been dead before the minister found him."
Lawrence patted Harry on the shoulder and motioned for Harry to move forward, Harry hesitated for a moment and quietly followed Lawrence down the stairs, and when Lawrence couldn't hear the Weasleys arguing, he stopped and turned to face Harry,
"I know you want to keep listening," Lawrence said, and Harry nodded silently, "but I think it's better for us not to eavesdrop."
"Do you remember the day you arrived at the Leaky Cauldron?" Lawrence continued, "I talked to the Minister for a while that day, and I probably know why the Ministry of Magic is so nervous, but the Minister wants me not to tell you."
"Oh, you think it's better if I don't know?" Harry hung his head in frustration,
"No, actually, I think it's up to you." Lawrence replied, and Harry looked up in surprise,
"I'd love to know," Harry admitted, "why everyone was so nervous when Black escaped, I used magic outside of school, but the Ministry of Magic didn't punish me, the minister said it was a trivial matter, but it didn't make sense—"
"It's a terrible thing, even—" Lawrence said solemnly, "I'm sorry for me to say that, it's almost as bad as your parents' deaths."
"I-don't understand-" Harry was a little confused, but he wasn't as adamant, "what's as bad as — the death of my parents?"
"The decision is yours, and I can only assure you," Lawrence said, "and if you want to know, be prepared for me to tell you everything I know."
"All right—" Harry agreed,
"I think Mr. Weasley will tell you something tomorrow," Lawrence said, "I don't know how much Mr. Weasley intends to tell you, but I don't think there will be much information, at least not all that he knows."
They ended their conversation and walked into the dark bar, where Harry found the tonic in Ron's seat for dinner, and when he returned upstairs, the Weasleys in the reception room had already left, and Fred and George were sneakily looking around the staircase, snickering from time to time.
"We're the badge," Fred snickered, showing the changed badge to Lawrence and Harry, Harry smiled reluctantly, he walked outside Ron and Percy's room, handed Ron the tonic potion, and walked back to his room,
"What's wrong with him?" George asked,
"Hmm—" Lawrence shrugged and didn't answer, glancing at the two of them, "I hope you didn't change a few words of my badge?"
"How?" Fred said in an injured tone, "Why do you think of us like that?"
"I thought you knew us well," said George sadly,
"If you want to change your badge, how can a few words be enough?" Fred looked at Percy's male student council president badge in his hand,
"At least a few sentences, can you make it into a poem?" George added, and Lawrence rolled his eyes and walked back to his room.

Author's Note: These chapters don't feel like they're very important, and in fact I don't think the third volume will be too long.
