023 High Inquisitor at Hogwarts
"Looks like that Umbridge guy isn't going to show up." George felt pity and said,
On Monday morning, they were taking a course in herbology in the greenhouse, and at breakfast, they read a report in the Daily Prophet that Umbridge had become the first High Inquisitor since the founding of Hogwarts.
Lawrence, Fred, and George shuddered at the thought of Umbridge's photo winking at every newspaper reader under the headline on the front page of the newspaper.
"I suddenly realized that our advertising slogan was still a little too conservative," Fred said, "and remember how the newspapers praised Umbridge?"
"As soon as he took office, he received praise from all sides and revolutionized the way Defence Against the Dark Arts was taught," Lawrence rolled his eyes, "and also reviewed the other teachers' classes?"
"It's really revolutionary in a way," George sarcastically said, "I mean, the way she teaches her now is to open the textbook, open one of the chapters, and have the students read from the first word to the last."
"I think I know," Fred said in a tone of sudden realization, carefully skirting the vines on the floor, "we almost forgot that no one had ever been in this position for more than a year."
"It's really well-intentioned," George understood what Fred meant, and he quipped, "I guess this kind of teaching is no problem even if a mountain monster teaches it."
"Remember Lockhart?" Lawrence laughs, "He at least taught us how to tell stories."
"And acting." Fred added humorously, and the three of them did not have a quiet conversation, which caused laughter from the students around them,
"Be serious," Professor Sprout said unabashedly, but dutifully admonished each student, "It's seventh grade, so don't I need to remind you of the precautions in the greenhouse?" Huh?"
"Yes, Professor." Everyone replied like this, they put away their jokes, and seriously fertilized the dangerous plants in the greenhouse.
After the herb class, just before lunch, George saw Umbridge, she took the clipboard, cowered in the corner, looked at Professor Flitwick standing on a large stack of books with critical eyes, and wrote with a quill.
Professor Flitwick didn't seem to care at all that there was an extra person standing in the corner, he waved his wand, and lines of notes automatically appeared on the blackboard, and Professor Flitwick accompanied the notes, explaining the theory of oath magic to the students of the Witchcraft test class in his shrill voice,
It's a pretty complicated one, and it's one of the magic that can be easily confused with contract magic, and it's even a bit beyond the scope of superwork, but no one disagrees.
Lawrence noticed that Umbridge's quill stopped, her face was a little flustered, obviously she didn't understand what Professor Flitwick was teaching at all, and when Professor Flitwick's explanation came to an end, it was time for the class to ask questions.
"So, can anyone tell me where the most famous oath magic is in Hogwarts?" Professor Flitwick asked, and about five or six people raised their hands, and Professor Flitwick pointed to a Ravenclaw student and motioned for him to answer,
"The pen of acceptance and the book of recognition, Professor." Ravenclaw students said, (Note 1)
"Ravenclaw plus five points," Professor Flitwick said, "perhaps you can simply tell us what these two items are, Mr. Diggory?"
"The Pen of Acceptance and the Book of Recognition are some of the oldest known magical items," Cedric said, "and they are hidden somewhere in Hogwarts, and they are working tirelessly to record the names of gifted students who come to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and only the Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster can come to them and take the list of new students who will be enrolled."
"Hufflepuff plus five points," Professor Flitwick nodded approvingly, "help us explain how they work, Mr. Rovande?"
"Accurate detection of magic, where it appears, and who uses it has always been the subject of research in the wizarding world, but just centuries ago, the founders of the four schools had already performed this magic that we had never heard of," Lawrence said, "It is recorded that the Pen of Acceptance was made from the feathers of a bird, and when it sensed that a child had shown magic, it would try to write that person's name on the Book of Recognition, and if it was written with the name of the Book of Recognition, it would qualify as a student at Hogwarts." (Note 2)
"Very good, Gryffindor plus five points." Professor Flitwick nodded, "Miss Selwyn, could you please help us add some information about the Book of Recognition?"
"The Book of Recognition is a black dragon book, and it's much stricter than the Pen of Acceptance," Selwyn said briefly, "and it doesn't want that name to be written without enough dramatic magic, and thanks to its strictness, Hogwarts has never let Squibs admit to school."
"Slytherin plus five," Professor Flitwick said, "let's talk about accurate detection of magic."
"If there's a kind of magic that can detect precisely and know who the spell caster is - we're not talking about the Ministry of Magic trace now," Professor Flitwick said, "then there is no doubt that we will have no secrets, and that our whereabouts, any action related to magic, will be under surveillanceβit will be an extremely dangerous thing to do, and obviously no one will agree to let this happen."
"The four founders of Hogwarts who imparted magical knowledge did not record this spell, and we Spell researchers have reason to believe that they have cast an extremely powerful oath, at least they must have limited themselves, and also limited these two items, and only used this magic for the purpose of recruiting new students in the school, and not for other purposes."
"We all know that once the magic item involves other creatures with considerable magical power, there is instability, such as the dark magic detector, secret sensor, enemy mirror, they all have some big problems." Professor Flitwick took a breath and continued,
"But it's clear that both items are extremely disciplined β every headmaster wants the Book of Recognition to be relaxed, but no one succeeds, and the accuracy and permanence of their magic are impressive, in keeping with the power of the combined influence of multiple vows."
The bell rang for the end of class, and Professor Flitwick coughed lightly, glancing at Umbridge standing in the corner,
"Ladies and gentlemen, please submit a paper on oath magic in the next class, we will teach contract magic in the next class, please briefly describe at least one paragraph in the paper about the difference between an oath and a contract," Professor Flitwick coughed again, "Professor Umbridge?"
Everyone looked at Umbridge, and the crowd snickered a few times, and from the look on her face, everyone knew that Umbridge didn't understand what the class was going on.
"Uh-hmm," Umbridge blinked blankly, trying to sort through his jumbled thoughts, "Miss Spinnett, what do you think of this lesson?"
"Very good, Professor," replied the Gryffindor chaser, standing up, "Professor Flitwick has always taught him very clearly."
"Do you think Professor Flitwick's voice is too sharp to distract you?" Umbridge deliberately said in a sweet tone,
"No, Professor." Aria. Spinnett replied quickly,
"Uh...... What do you think of a professor standing in a book in class?" The smirk on Umbridge's face was almost unbearable, and George let out a burst of boos from the side,
"May I say that, Professor," Fred jumped up from his position, bowing to Professor Flitwick before continuing, "and it's nice that Professor Flitwick is just right in time for us to see the full blackboard."
There was a burst of laughter, Umbridge hurriedly wrote a few strokes on the clipboard, and reluctantly asked a few questions, but none of them were related to the teaching content, and finally in the increasingly obvious snickering, Umbridge ran away with a black face and a clipboard,
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's go to lunch after class." Professor Flitwick winked eyes at the class, and the sound of tidying up sounded, and everyone walked out of the classroom.
"I think this is the last time we'll see her in other classes." Fred snickered,
"She's just a straw bale." George said disdainfully, and there was a wave of approval all around, apparently many of the students agreeing with him.

After dinner on Monday, Lawrence came to the student council room, about two meetings a month, in fact, only the first meeting time will be scheduled on Monday after the first week of school, the rest is decided by the previous meeting, Lawrence pushed open the door of the conference room,
It is a curved meeting room, the center is located at the very bottom, according to the fifth, sixth and seventh grades, there are three rows of curved conference tables facing the center, the higher the back, each row has eight seats, these seats are rarely filled, because there are always people who do not come to the meeting,
Lawrence's footsteps echoed through the empty conference room, he waved his wand to light the torches on the wall, and then walked towards another door in the corner, which was the small office of the student council president, where the student council presidents would finalize the process before the meeting. Selwyn was already sitting in an armchair with the book on her lap spread halfway out, but she wasn't looking at it because Selwyn was napping with his eyes closed.

Note 1: Most of the information in the Pen of Acceptance and the Book of Approval comes from Pottermore, with a little bit of its own settings.
Note 2: The Bird, also known as the Irish Phoenix, is detailed in Where Are the Magical Creatures.
