012 Phoenix Conference

At about six o'clock in the evening, the three people who were still in the twins' room to discuss their business plans keenly heard someone walking up the stairs to the fourth floor.

The three of them looked at each other, Lawrence touched each other, disappeared from the twins' room, and when he appeared on his bed in his original position, the next moment, there was a knock on the wooden door of the bedroom, Lawrence jumped up from the bed and opened the wooden door,

"Lawrence—the meeting is about to begin, you know." Mrs. Weasley said, her expression clearly not satisfied with the matter, and she glanced at the closed door on the other side, which was the twins' room,

"You go to the kitchen first, I'm going to warn these two guys." Mrs. Weasley said that Lawrence had to go downstairs first.

When he walked into the kitchen on the first floor, he found that there were already many people sitting next to the long table, such as Nimphadora, who was more often seen in the old house. Tonks – she's having a fight with Alasto. Moody spoke, and they sat at the very end of the long table, which Lawrence guessed was because it was because everyone at the table could be seen at a glance, and the only entrance to the kitchen,

Sirius was chatting with a graceful and elegant witch, Remus was talking to a black wizard on the other side, Professor McGonagall and Snape were sitting closer to the doorway, and there were about four or five other members of the group, who were sitting on the other side of the long table, a strong hand on Lawrence's shoulder, which Lawrence knew was Dumbledore's hand,

"Sit down, Lawrence," Dumbledore said, "we don't have a fixed place."

"Here, Lawrence—" Sirius beckoned, and Lawrence walked over to Sirius's left hand side and sat down,

"This is Emmeline. Vance," Sirius introduced, "I'll help you get a vote."

"What vote?" Lawrence asked casually,

"Do you want to make an exception to the ballot for you to join?" Emmeline. Vance said in a soft voice,

"I think since you're sitting here, I think you'd be willing to join." Sirius shrugged his shoulders as Remus sat down in the vacant seat to Lawrence's left, followed by the tall black wizard,

"Kingsley. Shaker is an Auror." Remus introduced the black wizard and Lawrence nodded in greeting, and when Fleur. When Delacour stepped into the kitchen and appeared behind Lawrence like a gust of wind, Emmeline. Vance reacted quickly and pulled Sirius, and the two moved to the right, Fleur to Emmeline. Vance nodded in acknowledgement and sat down in the seat to the right that Lawrence had vacated,

The Weasleys entered the kitchen, followed by Bill and Charlie, who closed the wooden door, which seemed to signal the start of the meeting, and Dumbledore waved his hand at the kitchen door, then stood up and presided over the meeting,

"Thank you all for taking the time to attend tonight's impromptu meeting," Dumbledore said, "Bill and Charlie have to rush back home, and you know it's two hours off here, so let's get it done as soon as possible." (Note 1)

"Except for a few members of the team who are on a secret mission, such as Hagrid, I have learned their thoughts on the others, such as Digo, Podmore, etc.," Dumbledore said, "We are going to discuss today whether we can make an exception for Lawrence. Rovander joins the Order of the Phoenix."

"I don't see anything to discuss, Dumbledore," Mrs. Weasley's voice was a little sharp, she didn't even call him 'Professor' as usual, "it doesn't meet the criteria for joining."

"Yes, Molly, I know that, so I need to know everyone's opinion," Dumbledore replied, "Otherwise I'll just have to ask Lawrence himself."

"He's just a kid." Molly insisted, and Lawrence frowned when he heard this, "He hasn't left school yet."

"I understand your opinion, Molly." Dumbledore said mildly,

"What I want to know is that it's your judgment, Albus," a cloud-like, white-haired wizard asked, "do you think it's really necessary to have him on board?"

"Yes, I think so, Epheas." Dumbledore replied, and the wizard named Ephias stopped talking, as if such an answer was enough for him,

"I trust your judgment, Albus," Moody, who sat at the very end of the long table, roared in his hoarse voice, "but you must explain what kind of mission would require a wizard who has not yet left the school to join us?"

"I'm curious, too, that there are me and Professor Snape in the school," Professor McGonagall asked, "and you're there, why do you need students to attend?"

"As you all know on this subject, the Ministry of Magic is going to have a Defence Against the Dark Arts professor," Dumbledore replied quietly, "I think whoever accepts this position must have some tasks for the Ministry of Magic—like spying on me, with professors who are close to me."

"And spy on Potter, right?" Moody hissed, "I think the Ministry of Magic will do that, so you're trying to get Rowander to spy on Potter better than the Ministry of Magic or the Professors?"

"If that's why you need Rovander, then I don't agree." Professor McGonagall said, "I don't think this kind of thing should be done by 'using' students."

"What kind of reason makes you want to reveal some information to Rovand beforehand?" Kingsley. Shackle asked, "Or what do you want to ask Rovander to do?" What so many of us members of the Order of the Phoenix can't do?"

"There's something I want Lawrence to do, Kingsley." Dumbledore admitted, "But not when he was still at school."

"I think you kept mentioning that he was a student," Sirius said impatiently, "and I think he's far more capable than many of the wizards who graduated."

"We never question his abilities, Sirius," Remus began, "and no one even questions his will against Voldemort, and his performance that night was enough to prove it."

"But do you remember why we joined the Order of the Phoenix?" Remus said, "Even if so many young wizards were willing to join us in the difficult circumstances of the last war, why did we refuse?"

"Why refuse?" Tonks asked angrily, "Wouldn't it be nice to have more men?"

"Don't be stupid, Tonks," Remus said sternly, "can you allow those young wizards to go to war, and then lose their precious lives or put your hopes in Merlin's blessing?" That's what we're going to do."

"And he's not out of school yet," Kingsley said calmly, "it's not that bad, and I think it's time for students to do what students do, to enjoy their lives, and not to sacrifice them."

"Every member of our Order of the Phoenix has a sense of sacrifice," Remus said, "and from the moment we joined, I think every member would be willing to sacrifice their lives if we could add any chance of victory to defeat Voldemort."

"I believe I have the same realization." Lawrence spoke for the first time at this meeting,

"We believe in that too, so I don't think we can let you join at this stage." Remus responded, "We don't let too young members join, because we can die at any time, so we need someone to inherit our will, even if there is only one left - young are always full of enthusiasm and impulsive, but this attitude is the easiest to die in the execution of tasks."

"Very well, is there anything else you would like to add?" Dumbledore nodded, "Don't sleep, Mundungus."

"What? Someone would like to join? It's crazy—" A sleepy-eyed wizard looked up, apparently still unclear, "—that's wonderful."

"It's not decided yet, Mundungus," Dumbledore replied patiently, "and now we're preparing to vote."

"Vote? Of course......" Mundungus burped and struggled to open his eyes,

"Emmeline? Heska? Hibiscus? Ladies and ladies don't have any comments to make?" Dumbledore asked the members who had not expressed their opinions, "Arthur? Bill? Charlie?"

"Now, then, let's vote," Dumbledore said, "in favor of Lawrence. Rovander joins the Order of the Phoenix, please raise your hand."

Fleur raised her hand first, Sirius and Emmeline followed, Tonks glanced at Remus and raised his hand, Mundungus' hand staggered, the white-haired Ephias raised his hand, Bill and Charlie looked at each other, and finally raised their hands under their mother's forced gaze,

Dumbledore waited for a moment, and after confirming that no one was going to change their minds, he nodded,

"Against Lawrence, then. Rovander joins the Order of the Phoenix, please raise your hand."

Mrs. Weasley was the first to raise her hand, and then Moody, Professor McGonagall, Remus, Kingsley, and Hasgar raised their hands one after another.

"Digo and Podmore are both opposed." Dumbledore said quietly, everyone had calculated the final vote, and the number of people who agreed and opposed was exactly the same, except for Mr. Weasley and Snape who did not vote,

Professor McGonagall looked at Snape, who did not vote against with some confusion, given the relationship between Lawrence and Snape, Snape's failure to vote against itself can tell something,

"Arthur—" Mrs. Weasley looked at her husband for help, and Arthur sighed and raised his hand,

"Well, I think it's out," Dumbledore nodded, he didn't cast his own vote, "Lawrence can't join the Order of the Phoenix, and we'll only be able to reveal what we can tell 'them' before he does."

"That's the end of this impromptu meeting, but luckily it didn't make it to dinner," Dumbledore said in a brisk tone, "Bill, Charlie, you two had better hurry up and go home, or you'll have to go to work the next day with dark circles under your eyes."

"Let the others take me to the door, Molly, and start making dinner, or everyone will go hungry," Dumbledore said with a smile, turning his head to look at Lawrence, "Lawrence—can you take me to the door?"

Note 1: The original text is 'The time on that side is two hours later than here', my idea is that the Romanian and Egyptian time zone is UK +2, so the UK is 18~19 o'clock, and the time on that side should be 20~21 o'clock, so I write two hours late, but it seems to cause misunderstanding...... So it was changed to "There was a difference of two hours between the time over there and here."
