006 Deng Bulido's warning
After seeing that Harry and the others were all right, Lawrence returned to the carriage where the twins and Luna were, and nothing happened for the rest of the journey, the Dementors cast a shadow on the psyche of each student, and the carriages that were always giggling were rarely quiet.
The train stopped on the small platform in Hogsmeade, and every student scrambled to get onto the platform, Lawrence looked up at the gray clouds that followed the sky,
"First-year, go here—" Hagrid shouted as usual, full of energy,
"Shall we take a carriage?" Luna asked, "The carriages pulled by the creatures?"
"What? Oh, yes," replied George, "we hitched a carriage."
"There's nothing pulling the wagon." Fred looked at Luna a little strangely, "It's always empty—"
"It's Thestrals, and in fact I'm only seeing them now," Lawrence said, "and only those who have witnessed death can see magical creatures."
"I've heard of this name," George was a little surprised, "but I heard they are a little ominous?"
"It's just rumors, but in fact, they have an amazing sense of direction, and they can always find someone who needs them," Lawrence replied, "and if they are tamed, they are smart, friendly, and very fast."
"Can you see that? So you've all witnessed—" Fred remembered what Luna had said in the carriage and quickly changed his words, "I mean, when did you witness death?" Lawrence? You didn't say that before."
"This summer, I attended Nicol. Lemay's funeral, the events of the Philosopher's Stone, remember?" Lawrence briefly described the funeral, but he omitted the distribution of the estate.
"An astonishing experience." George said, "This is a true legend, isn't it?"
"Death," Fred didn't understand, "smart people are always puzzling, how can death be thought to be just 'that thing.'"
Lawrence didn't answer, Luna looked at Thestrals and didn't know what she was thinking, her silver-gray eyes reflected Thestrals' jet-black body without a trace of flesh, black skin clinging to bones, dragon-like heads, wings from shoulder bones tucked at the sides, long tails wagging at their sides.
"Well, it's a Dementor again." The carriage crashed into a puff of cold air, Lawrence looked up, his right hand hidden in his robes holding his wand, as they passed through an ornate iron door, and two tall Dementors stood silently on either side, their wide cloaks swinging in the wind, revealing their large, rotten hands from the sleeves of their robes,
"It's so much better than on the train." Fred exhaled, the white heat dissipated with the wind, the carriage gradually moved away from there, and the temperature returned to normal,
"There were only two of them there," Lawrence said, "and there were probably more than fifty on the train, and the more there were, the harder it would be to deal with."
"Is it reliable that the Ministry of Magic doesn't know?" George said in as brisk a tone as he could, "But I think Dunbury can deal with them."
The carriage staggered to a halt at the school gate, and the twins pushed Lawrence, pointing to Professor McGonagall standing at the school gate,
"Lawrence, well done, Professor Lupin told me that there was an owl written on the car." Professor McGonagall's serious expression showed a rare smile, "Come on in."
"Potter! Granger! Follow me—" Professor McGonagall shouted from behind, and they turned around, and Harry and Hermione looked surprised, apparently not understanding why Professor McGonagall was looking for them,
"I thought they were here to trouble us." George whispered, pointing to a headless student not far away,
"Look, our products." Fred said with some excitement,
"Professor McGonagall is a good teacher," Luna said suddenly, "we Ravenclaws think that your product might be disrupting our class—"
"Well, of course," replied George, "we didn't say she was bad, just a little harsh—"
"That's good, we think she's here to teach us more useful things." Luna said, "If she could compliment her, it would be a very good performance."
The twins looked at each other, and they rarely heard what the students of the other houses were talking about the dean of their own college.
"Well, actually, we think Professor McGonagall is like you Ravenclaws," Fred complained quietly, "both a little lacking in humor."
"Knowledge is treasure, how can it disturb others who seek knowledge?" Unable to understand it, Luna walked down the hall and parted, Lawrence and the twins walked to Gryffindor's table, and Luna walked back to Ravenclaw's table,
"Luna reminds us," said George thoughtfully, "that we shouldn't disturb anyone else who wants to go to class."
"Then we should study something," Fred replied quickly, "something that allows some people who don't want to go to class to leave the classroom without a hitch."
"Hey," Lawrence couldn't help but laugh, "as long as it's against the school rules, you're always quick to react."
"Of course," the twins replied proudly in unison, "we're professionals."
They began to discuss how to leave the classroom in a reasonable way, and the three of them did not stop discussing until the end of the classification and Dunley did not mention Lawrence's name without mentioning.
"A lot of people may be a little unimpressed with me," Dunbury said in a somewhat serious tone, "and some of you may know that on the train Gryffindor's new prefect, Lawrence. Rovande, he has single-handedly repelled at least fifty Dementors - you might think that the Patronus Charm is nothing more than that, and that a fifteen-year-old wizard can cast it perfectly?"
"I must say, this is a very amazing achievement, many ordinary adult wizards are not even able to cast a physical Patronus, it takes a lot of practice, I want to emphasize again-" Dunburido's gaze swept over every student in the hall, "This is advice, and a warning, the Dementors will not understand your explanations and excuses, do not try to hide them, invisibility cloaks or illusions are not effective against them, do not try to break the school rules and leave the school, do not give them a chance to harm you - it will be more painful than death."
"What do you think?" Fred asked, "We're going to take the O.W.L. exam this semester, so we shouldn't have much time to get out of campus?"
"And we've got something we want to develop again," George shrugged, "and it's going to be a busy year."
"Lawrence, you'll be fine," Fred nudged Lawrence with his elbow, "and they get in the way and destroy them."
"Well, let's take it easy, there are two happy things to announce now," Deng Bulido said with a smile, "We have two teachers who will join us—"
"Remus. Professor Lupin, who will be our Defence Against the Dark Arts professor," Deng Bulido said, the applause in the hall was not enthusiastic, but several students who knew about Professor Lupin's performance on the train clapped their hands vigorously,
"I think we're finally going to be able to take a good lesson in Defence Against the Dark Arts this year?" Fred asked, somewhat uncertainly,
"Professor Lupin can cast a Patronus, and when I chased those Dementors, there were people in the last few carriages, I think he should have been," Lawrence said of the fact, "and look at Professor McGonagall."
"Professor Lupin can actually have a good chat with Professor McGonagall?" George said in a dreamy tone, his surprise was understandable, and if the serious Professor McGonagall could smile and talk to anyone, as Luna said, that person must be very good,
"Former Professor McGonagall, perhaps?" Fred guessed, "It doesn't feel like Professor Lupin is very old."
"I don't know which house," George asked, "but it's certainly not a Slytherin, I mean, the one who can get in there won't be as poor as we are, right?"
They laughed, Professor Lupin's nails and old suitcase showed that he wasn't rich, and Lawrence had heard him say in the car that he needed the job.
"Second teacher, I must first regret to announce," Dunburydo continued, "that Professor Kettleburn, who protects magical biology, has resigned so that he can spend the rest of his life with his remaining hands and feet, so we welcome the Keykeeper and the Hunting Ground Guard, Rubeus. Hagrid has come to fill the vacated position."
Everyone clapped their hands, the Gryffindor students were especially enthusiastic, Hagrid's face was swollen red, and his large hands combed his messy black beard, but it was too strong and accidentally broke some of it.
"Oh my God, no wonder this year's book looks like this." George laughed and shouted,
"There are so many amazing creatures at Hogwarts," Fred said, "Hagrid must know a lot about taming them, right?"
"Probably? In fact, I think," replied Lawrence uncertainly, "that Hagrid's way of dealing with those creatures was more of an instinct—the three-headed dog didn't have much of a published tame way."
"Anyway, now we can start eating, right?" George looked at the empty plate on the table, and just as Deng Buliduo announced the start of the meal, George grabbed a plate of roast beef with satisfaction, "I'm hungry—ah, that's amazing—"
The hall echoed with the sounds of conversation and laughter, the clinking of knives and forks against plates, and despite the presence of Dementors outside the school, it was clear that everyone was excited about the start of the school year.
"We're in fifth grade." Lawrence suddenly said seriously, "You will definitely be able to accomplish your dreams."
"Why are you so serious all of a sudden," Fred laughed, and he took a glass of pumpkin juice, "Isn't that certain?" We made an agreement in the first grade."
"You have to find your dream quickly," George said, winking at Lawrence, "Even if you have the same ambition as Percy to become Minister of Magic, we will be responsible for helping you get rid of Percy and leaving you with one less opponent."
"Oh, less stupid." Lawrence said, the three laughed, and they each picked up a glass of pumpkin juice and toasted.
