Chapter 0094 - Visiting the Park

After Zhao Weidong saw Abt leave, he considered that there was nothing to do today, and there were several attractions in New York that must be visited, which can represent the national business card of the United States, they were to Statue of Liberty and Wall Street yesterday, and there are two: Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and today I arranged to see both of these attractions, and he discussed them with Ling Jun and Alice, and they all agreed to go to these two attractions.

Alice immediately went to arrange the security personnel and their vehicles, and the group left the bank headquarters, and they decided to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art first, anyway, the two attractions were together, and they drove towards the goal, the Grand Museum is located next to Central Park, and as the most popular single attraction in New York City, it really lives up to its name. Its highlights include Egyptian art, American wings, weapons and armor, 20th-century art, Greek and Roman art, costume academy, and Impressionist artists.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is set against the backdrop of New York's Central Park, with a quiet and elegant environment. It is the largest art museum in the United States and a world-famous museum. Located on 82nd Avenue on 5th Avenue in New York, USA, it is a huge treasure trove that occupies four blocks opposite the famous American Museum of Natural History, covering an area of 130,000 square meters.

It is one of the world's four largest museums, along with the British Museum in London, the Louvre in Paris, and the Leningrad Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia. Zhao Weidong knew that if he wanted to really visit the Hall of Fame, it would probably take several days.

Therefore, Zhao Weidong and the others decided to take the method of wandering aimlessly, mainly to appreciate its architecture, and the exhibits are just to look at the flowers, focusing on the Chinese art exhibition room, and they will also feel that the trip is worthwhile.

Zhao Weidong and the others walked into the solemn hall, bought tickets and entered the museum, which exhibited works of art from ancient civilizations to contemporary times, including hundreds of masterpieces of world civilizations.

The museum exhibits not only paintings and sculptures, but also tapestries, musical instruments, costumes, and ornaments.

The five main halls are: European Painting, American Painting, Primitive Art, Medieval Painting and Egyptian Antiques. One of the four newly built wings is dedicated to original art exhibitions, known as the Michael C. Rockefeller Room.

There are also a number of garden courtyards in the museum, with a glass roof rising high above the middle, and it is pleasant to rest in it for a while.

However, Zhao Weidong felt that the architecture did not reflect the creativity of the Americans, and the high staircases and large columns were as rigid and monotonous as any standard museum. However, the content of the exhibition is rich and colorful, reflecting the American style of sufficient funds and grandeur.

The entire 2,460-year-old Egyptian tomb is housed in a giant glass enclosure in the museum's purpose-built hall. The costume hall is also the largest in the world, with a collection of 15,000 national costumes from five continents over the past four centuries.

The exhibition content of the museum is extremely rich, Zhao Weidong they can not see all of them, can only look at more introduction, through the introduction of the general understanding of the exhibition hall including ancient and modern historical periods of architecture, sculpture, painting, drawing, prints, photos, glassware, ceramics, textiles, metal products, furniture, ancient houses, weapons, armor and musical instruments.

Zhao Weidong and when they entered the China Room, the first thing that caught their eyes was a mural six meters high and ten meters wide. The Buddhas in the painting have different expressions, the scene is very spectacular, from the text introduction, this is a mural in the Yuan Dynasty period, from Guangsheng Temple in Shanxi Province, although the mural has gone through all the vicissitudes of life, but the picture is still quite clear, carefully watch, you can see that the bottom layer of the mural is several centimeters thick adobe wall, there are more than 20 beautifully carved and lifelike Buddha statues in the exhibition hall, most of them are also from Shanxi Province.

The Chinese art exhibition room contains exquisite Buddhist sculptures from the 5th to the 15th century, ceramics, jade and ritual ware from the Bronze Age, exquisite art from the Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, tomb figurines, paintings of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, calligraphy works and decorative arts, courtyards and Ming Dynasty furniture. There are too many precious cultural relics in China in other people's museums, and I can only go to other people's countries to see my own country's cultural relics, which is really a cup.

Zhao Weidong they are also on the second floor of the porcelain exhibition area, see the perennial exhibition of porcelain from various countries, the main exhibits of Chinese porcelain in various periods, the current theme of the porcelain exhibition is "17th and 18th century Chinese porcelain and global trade", the exhibits in addition to the display of some of the Ming and Qing dynasties of the representative porcelain, especially highlighting China's export porcelain and foreign porcelain with Chinese style, is an exhibition to show the influence of Chinese porcelain and culture on the West. Before they knew it, a few hours passed quickly, and they felt that it was almost over, and left the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

They had a meal next to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and after they finished their meal, they headed to Central Park. Central Park is the most beautiful urban park in the world's metropolises, with lakes, trees, flowers, and birds, and many Chinese artists set up stalls to make money by drawing and sketching. At Fifth Avenue and Central Park West, it stretches from 59th Street in the south to 110th Street in the north, and is surrounded by the famous Fifth Avenue and Central Park West Avenue on the east and west sides, and the park covers about 843 acres, spanning 51 blocks long and 3 blocks wide, and is one of the largest man-made natural features in the world.

The park was built in 1873 and lasted 15 years, and in 1851 the New York State Legislature passed the Parks Act, which promoted the development of New York City's Central Park, providing a leisurely place for people to live busy and stressful lives. Located in the middle of Manhattan, Central Park covers an area of 340 hectares and covers 150 blocks, with a total of 93 kilometers of walking trails, 9,000 benches, and 6,000 trees.

The park is equipped with light green acres of grassland, a small forest with lush trees, a courtyard, an ice rink, a carousel, an amphitheater, two small zoos, a lake where you can raft on the water, tennis courts, sports fields, art galleries and so on. With a wide range of activities, from regular softball games to concerts on festivals, the park provides a much-needed retreat and a tranquil spiritual home for residents and visitors alike.

Admission to Central Park is free. More than 25 million visitors visit the park each year, with nearly 300,000 visitors per day in the summer and about 30,000 per day in the winter.

Central Park is beautiful all year round, with bright greens in spring, sunshine in summer, red autumn maple in autumn, and silver and white in winter.

Central Park is surrounded by 59th Street, 110th Street, 59th Road, and Central Park West Road, and is equipped with light green acres of grassland, a small forest with lush trees, courtyards, an ice rink, a carousel, an amphitheater, two small zoos, a lake where you can raft on the water, tennis courts, sports fields, art museums, and so on.

There is a park called Strawberry Farm, which is a peace park in honor of John Lennan, and you can see a variety of flowers from all over the world.

Zhao Weidong and their stroll started from West 72nd Street, crossed Central Park West Road and West Trail, and came to the park, it is now winter, everywhere is white, tall trees are covered in silver.

Zhao Weidong is still a little strange, he didn't see snow in the city, he didn't expect so much snow in the park, they followed the trail to the sheep grassland, before 1934, this big turf was really used to graze sheep, and later it was very realistically named after the sheep grassland,

Nowadays, although it is not used for sheep grazing, it is a good place for people to picnic and sunbathe, surrounded by a fence, and in the summer you can see a spectacular sunbathing scene, everyone (all white) tries to get a tan, and the nearby grassland and "human flesh" landscape, lined with high-rise buildings in the distance, is also a great spectacle of summer, and now it is a white expanse.

Then go north, go along the West Trail, and then turn right to reach the side of 79th Street, Zhao Weidong and they continue to walk east, through the intersection of the side of 79th Street and the East Trail, they come to the Strawberry Field, because Lennon wrote a famous song in 1967 - "Strawberry Farm Forever", from the Dakota can overlook this place,

The garden, known as the "International Peace Park", has walks, bushes, forests, flower beds, etc., and has a star-shaped, black-and-white mosaic on the trail, which is also mentioned in the lyrics of a song by John Lennon, and Beatles fans from all over the world will gather here to commemorate him.

Zhao Weidong and the others then took the south trail to reach the protected waters, followed the trail to the west through the east trail, and then entered the Lobu Lake Boat Parking Yard, where the lake pools were frozen and white. Head south from the brick tunnel at the fountain and cross the side of 72nd Avenue below to enter the boulevard.

From the end of the boulevard, walk to the west side of the East Trail. On the west side of the lake is a statue of the Danish novelist Hans Christian Andersen, and an ugly duckling crouching at his feet, where storytellers are said to read stories to children on summer weekends. Walking forward to the south of the pool, Zhao Weidong sighed that there were really many people who came to the park to take pictures of snow scenes in such a cold weather.

The park's lake, covered with thick ice, has become the best outdoor skating rink, and young people of all colors glide on the ice, with brightly colored hats and scarves flying on their heads. Zhao Weidong and the others then turned left to Dajun Square, and the stroll through Central Park came to an end, which took about three hours in total.
