Important definitions of terms in Inception:

Dream maker: It is the person who dreamed, the master of the dream, and each layer can be different. Create an environment for dreams. When performing Inception missions, they create the environment of the dream based on the blueprints, and sometimes they have to act on the opportunity to change the design slightly.

Dream Maker: Have a high IQ and can design complex dream environments, you can not enter the dream world, you only need to design the dream makers on each floor, and let them create the dream environment according to the design drawings. In the play, the first part of the dream within a dream is a dreammaker who is a betrayer, so it is his responsibility to design the wrong carpet. The dreammaker of all the tasks in the third part is a little girl, so it was originally planned that she would not take a plane with everyone, and she was only responsible for planning the labyrinthine environment of each layer of dreams, but then because she wanted to watch Cobb, she took a plane together and entered the dream. Also collaborating with the little girl to design the environment are the handsome guy and the forger. Why is it known that forgers were also involved in the design? Because in the snow on the third floor, the forger added a passage, and the little girl knew about it, indicating that it was added at the time of design.

Defender: It is a person who enters the dreamer's dream created by the subconscious, because the participant subconsciously doubts the dream, and repels or even attacks the dreamer, the less real the dream is relative to reality, the stronger the defender's repulsion. It's only an attack on dreammakers. And people who have been trained in dream defense are more aggressive when they enter the dream world.

Limbo: Lost domain, under the influence of drugs, dies in a dream and does not wake up, but enters a lost consciousness space, and subconsciously manipulates the environment of this space. In this space, people's memories will be damaged, and they will not remember that they are dreaming and will be taken as reality, so that they will be awake if they forget about suicide. There are no dreamers here, and the environment is formed according to the subconscious mind and broken memories.

Kick: Translated as crossing in the play. Causing the dreamer to suddenly lose balance and wake up from the dream is still effective under the drugs of the Indians, but it cannot be kicked in layers, so when performing the task, it is necessary to kick the N-layer dream at the same time to return to the first layer of the dream.

The most critical logical points of Inception:

1. There is a temporal dimension between dreams and reality.

The first layer: 1 minute of reality is equal to 12 minutes of dream. 2nd layer: 1 day for the first layer is equal to 26 days for the second layer. Tier 3: 1 month for tier 2 equals 20 months for tier 3. The fourth layer of the drama does not give a conversion number. The Limbo Lost Domain time dimension is close to infinity.

2. The way to distinguish between dreams and reality.

Three are conventionally given: I. Totem, which violates the laws of physics in dreams. To distinguish whether you are in someone else's dream, the focus is on "someone else's", on the contrary, your own dream is not effective, because only you know how to distinguish the totem. Cobb and Mel's spinning top will keep spinning in their dreams, and will stop falling in reality. Arthur's dice is filled with lead, and in reality it is supposed to always spin one point, and in dreams it can appear as others. The little girl's metal chess piece falls when it is pushed in real life, but it cannot be pushed down in dreams.

II. The environment of the dream is far from reality, and it is too outrageous, and you will know that it is in a dream. III. In dreams people don't know how they started, how they got to a place, the scene jumps.

The director also gave a very secret way to distinguish it, which is something that many or most viewers do not notice, in all the dreams that appear in the play, Cobb's left ring finger wears a wedding ring, and in the real world, the left ring finger is empty. It is for this reason that many people's view that the whole scene is a dream has been overturned, and in the final ending, there is no wedding ring on his left hand when he hands the passport to security, and there is no wedding ring on his left hand on the back of the chair when he returns home, indicating that these are reality and not dreams.

3. Principles of Dreams:

(1) Each layer of dreams has a dreamer, and everyone else comes to this person's dream through a device. The environment of the next layer will be affected by the environment of the previous layer. (2) The defenders in the dream are brought by the person who enters the dream, and they will only attack the dreamer of this dream. Therefore, during the mission, the dreammaker will stay in the current dream realm and try to avoid the pursuit of the defenders, and will be responsible for waking up other people who enter the next dream realm. (3) If you are killed in a dream or encounter a kick stimulus in the body of the previous layer, you will wake up to the previous layer. If a large amount of sedatives are taken, dying in several layers of dreams under the effect of sedatives will not return to the previous layer, but will reach the limbo until the effect of the drugs in real life has passed the awakening, but since in the limbo, time is infinite, so the awakened soul may be damaged to varying degrees. (4) If the dreamer on each floor wakes up to the previous floor, the dream will collapse, and the others in the dream will wake up for a short time.

Inception Dreams:

Session 1: Limbo. At the beginning, Cobb is picked up from the sea and brought to Saito. The close-up view of the hand given to the meal has a wedding ring, and the spinning top that Saito turns keeps spinning, proving that it is a dream. Start reminiscing.

Session 2: Dream within a dream. Level 2: Meet Saito. Dream Maker: Little handsome guy. Cobb wears a ring. The handsome little guy is shot and killed by Cobb, and the dream collapses. First floor: Saito's secret little house. Dream Maker: The Betrayer. The little handsome guy wakes up from the dream of the second layer and tries to keep Saito in the dream of the second layer, but fails. Cobb wakes up by falling into the water kick. Saito found the carpet different, and knew that it was still in a dream. The little boy wakes everyone up through the music countdown, because it is the first dream, and he does not take a lot of sedatives, so he can wake up on his own, which is why the little handsome guy wakes up first. The betrayer is killed by the defenders and wakes up to end the dream.

After that it all happens in the real world. Back in the apartment, Cobb's spinning top stopped falling, and his left hand was not wearing a wedding ring.

Session 3: An experiment to make a little girl understand dreams. Dream Maker: Cobb.

Session 4: The little girl's first design dream. Dream Maker: Little girl. Cobb has a ring on his left hand, which can be seen clearly in the cinema. The little girl is killed to end the dream.

Scene 5: The little handsome guy teaches the little girl to create a labyrinthine dream that never has borders. Dream Maker: Little handsome guy.

Scene 6: Cobb experiments on whether the Indians' potions are stable enough. Dream Maker: Cobb. Cobb, who was lying on the bed before entering the dream, did not have a ring on his left hand.

Scene 7: The forger imitates the old man. Dream Maker: Forger. Because it is possible to fake others in a dream, even in the mirror, to be able to see the appearance of an old man is to dream.

Scene 8: The little girl discovers Cobb's secret about his wife. Dream Maker: Cobb. Cobb in the elevator wears a ring on his hand.

On the plane, Cobb's hand is not wearing a ring.

The last dream is the implantation of the idea task:

The first layer: The task is to make the rich second generation feel that his father does not want to inherit the company for him. Dream Maker: Indian. In the dream, it rained heavily because the Indians drank a lot of champagne on the plane. Saito was shot and injured by the defenders of the rich second generation in the first dream. kidnapping the rich second generation, through the conversation between the forger and the rich second generation, he knows that his father has another will, which is to make him choose to give up the company and become suspicious of the old man. Finally, the Indians stay on the first floor to avoid the defenders, find the kick point and give a musical countdown to the kick at the same time. The first kick was the impact of rushing off the bridge, but it was missed because the handsome guy in the second dream didn't have time to kick. The second chance is to rush into the point of impact of the water, success. The others returned to the first layer of dreams and swam out of the water, leaving the dead Saito and Cobb, who had not yet woken up, in the van.

The second layer: The task is to make the rich second generation have the idea of rebelling against his father. Dream Maker: Little handsome guy. In the hotel, Cobb told the rich second generation that it was a dream, and that someone wanted to enter his dream to steal something, and the rich second generation came up with the idea that it was the old man who designed him to get the password, so he cooperated with everyone to enter the third layer of the dream. The handsome little guy stays on the second level of the dream to hide from the defenders and blows up the room they dreamed of from the ceiling of the room downstairs as a kick as originally planned. Later, due to the weightlessness of the space, the originally planned kick point was missed, and then a way was found to succeed in the second kick.

The third layer: The task is to make the rich second generation see with his own eyes what he thinks the old man knows, and his father does not want to follow his old path, but does what he likes. Dream Maker: Forger. In the fortress hospital in the snow, Mel came out and shot the rich second generation and caused him to go into shock, and when he died, he would enter Limbo. In order to rescue the rich second generation and complete the task, Cobb and the little girl dragged the rich second generation to the fourth layer of the dream through the instrument, and after rescuing the rich second generation with electric shock, the rich second generation saw his father and completed the task. Saito, who was injured in the first layer in the process, died and fell into the limbo. The forger blew up the hospital as a kick, succeeded.

The fourth layer: the dream of the rich second generation after coma. Dream Maker: Cobb. Here Cobb meets Mel again, and Cobb realizes that he has actually fulfilled his promise to Mel in his dream, and comes out of his guilt. Later, he was stabbed by Mel, but note that Cobb didn't die here, and didn't fall into limbo from here. The little girl threw the rich second generation down from the upper floor, causing him to wake up after the shock on the third floor restored his heartbeat. In the case of the first three floors of kick at the same time, the dream collapses, and the little girl falls downstairs to cooperate with the kick, and successfully returns to the first layer of the dream. Cobb stays behind holding his wife and waits to enter the limbo to find Saito and bring him back to the real world, and the little girl reminds Cobb not to forget the purpose before leaving.

Level 5: The limbo of the first dream. This is the limbo that Saito entered who died on the first floor, and Cobb, who didn't come out of the car after falling into the water on the first floor, drowned, and at this time he and Saito were still connected by instruments, so he was able to fall into the limbo with Saito and was brought to Saito. Saito is much older because he died a few seconds earlier than Cobb, and the Cobb consciousness that entered limbo is not very clear, and he was vague for a while, and the purpose that Saito remembered after turning the totem, Saito also recalled, so he chose to commit suicide to return to reality. But there is no shooting in the play, so it may also be that the medicine has been used in reality and woke up, because as soon as she woke up, the flight attendant said that there were still 20 minutes to reach her destination. However, because their memories were retrieved in limbo, Saito and Cobb's consciousness after returning to reality was not seriously confused.

After returning to reality, Saito made a phone call to solve Cobb's troubles. Cobb returned home, only to finally come true after a long time of wandering, Cobb turned the top a little uncertainly, and soon believed everything when he saw the child's face, and at the end of the film, the top turned slower and slower, and it also wobbled, only to be cut off before stopping.

Scene of the spinning top turning: For the first time, the spinning top rotated by Saito in the first dream rotates steadily and continuously. The second time, after waking up from the second dream, he returned to the apartment to make a phone call before Cobb's spinning top was able to stop. Third time: Cobb's spinning top is able to stop after the fourth dream. Fourth: After waking up from the sixth dream, Cobb spun the top in a panic by the sink and stopped falling to the ground. Fifth time: Cobb explains that his totem is a never-ending spinning top, which is given a shot of a spinning top that keeps turning. Sixth: Mel's hidden totem is turned by Cobb, convincing Mel that it was all a dream, and the spinning top spins steadily. Seventh: The spinning top at the end of the credits.

PS: 1. Cobb and his wife's dream is to die of old age in a deep dream, come to limbo, lie on the track back to reality, so when they lie on the rail, they are young, and after Cobb realizes that he has grown old together with Mel, the situation of lying on the rail is old again, because everything is subconsciously determined in limbo. In limbo, there is a broken memory, not complete amnesia, and when Cobb was in limbo, he only knew that he couldn't live like this, but he didn't know where suicide could go, and he just wanted to end everything in limbo.

2. In the play, there is no explanation of how other people come back to reality from the first layer, and the simplest reason is that after the effect of the sedative, they wake up naturally.
