Chapter 19: Elementary Tasks
In the end, Shi Leiyin was still not able to take on the green Щщщшlā on the day he became a junior mercenary, and there was no other reason, simply because the number of green tasks allowed to take on by junior mercenaries was very rare. Some of them are also labeled as 'Recommended by the Chamber of Commerce', and these are the tasks reserved for mercenaries who are about to be upgraded to mid-level mercenaries, and these green tasks can only be watched until Shi Leiyin's white tasks are completed a hundred times.
However, although the green task will not be received in a short time. The white task can already be fully undertaken. Unlike the apprentice mercenary period, you can only undertake maze cleaning tasks. After becoming a junior mercenary, the white quest has added two categories: trap repair and item exploration and recovery.
The trap repair quest is very simple, and the maid in the mission area will provide a special trap box for the traps that need to be repaired. The mercenaries who take on the task only need to take the boxes to the traps that need to be repaired, clear the traps that have been destroyed or completely consumed, and then place the boxes there and press the expand button. The trap box will automatically become a corresponding trap.
The difficulty of this type of task lies in the need to be familiar with the location of the maze traps. Also, since most of the traps are set in chains, you need to be careful to avoid other traps that have not yet been triggered.
In addition to the danger from other traps, another danger comes from adventurers. Unlike the Maze Cleanup quest, the Trap Repair quest area is not closed or cleared. Only before the quest is released will confirm that there are no adventurers left near the destroyed or attrition trap. This confirmation is issued as a green quest, and junior mercenaries can also take on it, but it is usually marked with the mark of 'Chamber of Commerce Recommended', which is basically a special quest for upgrades.
Although the danger of trap repair is increased, the points awarded are even lower than that of the maze cleanup, and only one point per item. While surprised by the strangeness of the low score of this kind of task, Shi Leiyin carefully looked at several different trap repair tasks. After comparison, I understood. It's not that the trap repair tasks have low points, but that the calculation method is different.
Maze cleaning tasks are calculated based on the completion of the entire area. Therefore, the reward given is based on ten points, and if the cleaning is not clean, a certain number of points will be deducted, and the minimum can be deducted to zero points. Shi Leiyin accidentally missed a relatively large blood stain in one of his previous ten missions, and was deducted a little point.
This is not the case for trap repair tasks, but is calculated according to the number of traps repaired, and one point can be earned for each trap repaired. However, the quest list still posts the repair of traps in a certain area, and does not indicate how many traps in the area need to be fixed. According to the information provided by No. 37, Shi Leiyin knew that in general, there were at least two hundred to three hundred traps of different sizes in a normal-sized area. Of course, the Chamber of Commerce does not wait until the traps are all damaged to issue a repair task, and usually issues a repair task when the trap has a tenth-point of attrition. Calculated in this way, the actual number of points that can be obtained on each task list actually reaches more than twenty points, and if you are lucky, thirty or forty points are possible.
However, after actually undertaking a trap repair task, Shi Leiyin found that this kind of task was not suitable for him to do. The biggest reason for this is that the trap boxes used to repair or rearrange the traps are too large for your size. Although not all trap boxes are the same size, there will always be one or two trap boxes with a particularly large size in each task list. And even if they are not the largest trap boxes, the trap boxes that are usually used are cubes about thirty centimeters long, which are about the same size as the shape of the Thunder Sound sphere, and it is extremely troublesome to carry. During the whole mission, it didn't take much time to repair the traps, but most of the time was spent on carrying the trap boxes.
In addition, there is another reason for counting the number of tasks. Originally, Shi Leiyin did the cleaning task, and the cleaning of ordinary areas could be completed at least twice in a day, and if he didn't eat, drink or sleep, then three times would definitely be no problem. But now the quest to fix the trap can only be completed once a day at most, and in case of bad luck, it can take up to two days. Although the points earned are about the same as those for a two-day cleaning task, or even more points, in terms of task counting, even if you have 200 traps that need to be repaired in the mission area, the task will only be counted once after completion. This is obviously not a suitable task for Shi Leiyin, who wants to upgrade to an intermediate or even high-level mercenary as much as possible.
The item exploration and recovery task is a type of task that makes it difficult for Shi Leiyin to decide. Like other white quests, the Item Quest quest is divided into maze areas. The difference from the previous two categories is that the rewards for this type of mission are divided into two types: basic rewards and additional rewards.
The basic reward is only five points, but you can get it as long as you take it and complete the basic exploration action in the maze area. Even if you finish the quest and go for a lap in that area, you can earn these five points if you don't do anything else.
Additional rewards indicate that points and bonuses are given according to the items retrieved. This is the rare type of mission in white missions that has an additional gold reward. You must know that in addition to the particularly belligerent monster mercenaries, most of the monster mercenaries who have contracts with the Chamber of Commerce are still based on the high gold rewards given by the Chamber of Commerce. Of course, because of this, the Chamber of Commerce will basically not issue tasks that directly give gold coins in mercenary missions. However, these kinds of quests are actually rewarded with gold.
Item Quests are usually limited to three days, and you can enter the destination area at any time during those three days after taking on the quest. You can spend all three days searching for items, or you can leave the area with a teleportation stone after thirty minutes of entry. Of course, multiple entries and exits are allowed as long as they are within the three-day time limit.
Item Quest Quests may be slightly safer than Trap Repair quests. According to the Thirty-Seventh, these missions are usually the most dangerous on the day they are released, and the rewards are likely to be the highest. This is because such missions are usually released after large-scale battles have taken place in the corresponding area. Items to find and recover range from items left behind by adventurers to weapons lost by monster mercenaries. Other adventurers and patrolling monster mercenaries are the biggest factors affecting the benefits of such quests. The Chamber of Commerce allows monster mercenaries to take away items from the maze, and adventurers will break into the maze itself to obtain goods from it, and naturally they will not let go of the good things left on the ground. Finding and taking items before anyone else is key to this type of task.
