873 Fitting accuracy of one-fortieth of a hair
(For @ Forever Brother Wang's big alliance plus more 4/5)
The assembly of the engine is indeed a very big technical problem.
Not only aero engines, but also other engines, which can fly because of a strong heart. Missiles also need powerful engines.
The power workshop in the first area not only produces turboshaft engines used in helicopters, but also produces engines used in missiles.
With the excellent performance of Houyi and Black Arrow in the Middle East battlefield and the acquisition of huge orders, the assembly capacity of District 1 has been increased to a very high level.
However, this alone is not enough to assemble turbofan engines that require higher precision.
As Liu Yijiu said, the engine of a fighter plane needs to be used repeatedly for a long time, and the missile is directly a one-shot deal, as long as the output power is strong enough. Even some small rocket artillery shells are not equipped with engines at all!
The first engine after the improvement of the process, Liu Yijiu has been guarding it since the beginning of welding, and the quality requirements have almost reached a demanding level.
In terms of quality assurance, even if there is a seven-tech agreement, China's industrial base is backward, and the quality awareness is not too high, compared with the Soviet Union and the United States led by NATO countries, it is still much worse, by Liu Yijiu with Qi Hai and others composed of an expert group of comprehensive tracking, the quality is all up to the highest level of China's manufacturing industry.
The eagle soaring in the blue sky of the republic must be given an absolutely strong heart. Liu Yijiu feels that no matter how hard he puts in, it is worth it.
To this end, the best ninth-level assembly fitters were specially mobilized from the first district of the ninth hospital. These are the top technical masters who assemble the turboshaft engines used in helicopters, and the same is true of Factory 132, the seventh-level assembly fitter, who is only the current apprentice, in order to achieve the highest assembly level, even seconded three of the most skilled level 9 assembly fitters from the aerospace 002 base.
The assembly of the first turbofan-8 after the improved process gathered the top assembly technology in China.
"Starts tomorrow. It will be the assembly of our first turbofan-8, and whether our fighter can soar in the sky or not depends on our work...... "The night before the assembly." Liu Yijiu, Wang Yueshan and others, the leaders of the 611 Institute, the turbofan R&D team and the leaders of the 132 factory all gathered together. Not for anything else. It was a mobilization meeting.
In the face of the people below, more than a dozen of them are more than 52 years younger, and the top assembly fitters from the Ninth Academy, the Aerospace 002 Base, and the 132 Factory are sitting at the front.
Their faces were complicated, some were excited, some were worried, and many of them frowned.
Look at the big guys on the rostrum, and then look at the technicians behind them. There is no one who does not feel nervous.
Liu Yijiu even referred to the first turbofan-8 engine as the engine they will start assembling tomorrow.
Moreover, it is two at a time. Directly on the air test platform, once there is a problem with the engine, the aircraft will not be able to fly, once the assembly of the engine can not meet the requirements, this will make the progress of the entire fighter project be blocked.
It is true that they are the top assembly fitters in the country, but they are also facing the biggest technical challenges in the current manufacturing industry in the country!
“…… I hope that everyone will do their best to assemble the heart of our fighter in a short time. To be honest, many of you here know that the prototype of our new generation fighter manufactured by Factory 132 has been waiting for the engine to ......"
Liu Yijiu didn't care about putting pressure on these assembly fitters.
After the mobilization meeting, Qi Hai asked Liu Yijiu with a worried face, giving too much pressure, whether these assembly workers would not be able to play as much as they wanted.
"Their ability to withstand pressure is beyond our imagination. Human potential can only burst out under the pressure of their imminent collapse. The Soviet Union and the United States are also dominated by manpower assembly, why can they do it, but we can't? Liu Yijiu explained.
The domestic ninth-level fitters, in fact, are still much worse than those of the Soviet Union and the United States.
Especially the top fitters of the United States, as well as NATO.
Of course, this is not because the domestic fitters do not work hard, but because they have seen the most top-quality parts, and they cannot compare with the United States and the Soviet Union in terms of experience in assembling the most top-notch equipment.
They have to be pressured to take the initiative to be more careful in the assembly process and to come up with more effective solutions.
If nothing else, it can be clear from the time when the atomic bomb was developed in China.
China's atomic energy industry began to develop with the help of Soviet experts, however, when the foundation was not laid, the Soviet Union withdrew all the experts from the Republic of China. The nuclear engineers of the Republic, even the top nuclear physicist Qian Sanqiang, do not know how to build the atomic bomb.
However, in a short period of 4 years, which was still basically a blank foundation, China raised a mushroom cloud at 3 pm on October 16, 1964 at Lop Nur!
The first atomic bomb of the United States has a deep industrial base, a huge scientific research population and the world's top nuclear scientists, which lasted 6 years, the same is true of the Soviet Union, and it took 6 years and 9 months, while China, without an industrial base, without perfect support, without much foundation, not even a computer, relying on the abacus to carry out complex mathematical calculations, also made the atomic bomb.
When China made the atomic bomb, how bad were the conditions?
No foundation, no labs, no funding!
It can be seen from Premier Zhou's words: "Even if the Chinese have no pants to wear, they have to build an atomic bomb!" ”
Now that the conditions are good, there are no achievements under the same difficult conditions as in the past, how can this work?
In the early days of the establishment of the republic, especially when the older generation of scientists was still there, the foundation of the republic went from poor to very strong, however, because of the problems of reform and opening up, technology introduction, etc., the country had more talents, better conditions, and more huge funds, but it did not have the previous scientific research capabilities.
This went on for a long time.
It is because people's minds have been affected, the bricks who engage in research are called beasts, plagiarism of papers, falsification of academic reports, etc., scientific research funds are used for personal consumption, and even these funds are embezzled to support women......
Although this is only part of the garbage, they are a great insult to the older generation of scientists and all technicians who have dedicated their lives to the development of the motherland!
Compared with the current group of older generation of scientific and technological personnel, they are completely a pile of garbage.
Liu Yijiu couldn't imagine how painful it would be if he only appeared in that era and wanted to do things.
These old technicians in front of them are definitely hard-working old scalpers.
You have to get the best out of them!
If so, Liu Yijiu had no way to explain to other managers, so he could only hold it in his stomach.
By the next day, all the parts needed for the engine were transported to the assembly workshop, and more than a dozen assembly fitters were doing different jobs. Some are equipped with fans and impellers, some are equipped with housings, and some are equipped with ducts and electronics outside the engine......
At the beginning of the assembly, the problem was not too big, especially the relationship between this engine was too important, and a large group of leaders watched them all day long, staring at them to work, and these people were under even more pressure.
There is absolutely no room for problems.
With the work of many grade 9 fitters as well as middle-aged fitters, the assembly progress of the engine is very fast.
What was originally scattered with many parts gradually became larger, fewer parts.
When it was time for the final assembly, it was all the more than ten old fitters who did it themselves.
"No, it deviated by 1 lead (0.01 mm, some are called 1 wire, a special name for the machinery industry), disassembled and reassembled...... Come this way a little bit...... After that, come back a little ...... "A lot of things, there are no special tools for detection."
This is especially true when assembling the impeller.
Although the engine impeller adopts the welding processing technology, so that the whole impeller becomes a whole, the accuracy can also be guaranteed, when the impeller is assembled into the engine and forms a whole, it is indeed the most complex, the most difficult and the most time-consuming work in the entire engine assembly.
Several gray-haired old skilled workers took action in person.
In order to ensure that the impeller inside the engine can reach the designed concentricity, that is, when the impeller inside the engine rotates, the 21-level fan impeller rotates around the same straight line in the middle.
No matter how strong the assembler is, it is impossible to ensure that two different rotating body (round) parts are completely guaranteed to be on the same straight line, and at most they can ensure that the two parts are infinitely close to the straight line where the center of the circle is located when assembling.
During the design process, the turbofan-8 engine, with 21 impellers, was assembled on a single shaft, and it was required to ensure that the center of each was no more than 0.0015 mm away from the theoretical center!
A human hair is about 0.06~~0.1 mm, that is to say, 21 impellers with a diameter of nearly one meter, after assembly, each must ensure that the deviation from the theoretical axis in the middle does not exceed one-fortieth of the deviation of a hair!
It's a tolerance that makes even the most in-aisle feel terrifying.
Of course, the layman will not be too shocked at all, because they don't understand how terrifying the assembly accuracy of one-fortieth of a hair is!
Even though, they know that this data is very small.
