Dead Space
QAQ belated information update ~ I always thought I had changed it.
All honor belongs to Du Niang.
Dead Space is a third-person shooter game produced by Electronic Arts (EA) that sells over-the-shoulder perspective and sci-fi horror. Players take on the role of an engineer named Issac Clarke, who follows his companions on a mission to investigate the shipwreck-signaling Ishimura spaceship. On board the ship, they were attacked by unidentified monsters, and only three people, including Isaac, survived. Isaac will need to team up with the other two to get through the storm and find a way to escape. Dead Space was originally released as the first game in 2008, and has since gone on to include novels, comics, anime, and more.
The story takes place in the year 2508. A large 1,000-man spaceship USGIshimura that is on a mining mission near the colonized planet of Aegis 7. Ishimura is the Japanese romanized pronunciation, corresponding to the kanji: 石村) sent a distress signal to the CEC (Concordance Extraction Corporation, Harmony Mining Corporation). After receiving the signal, the CEC immediately dispatched a small spacecraft named USG Kellion to the location of the Ishimura to investigate. Isaac Clarke, a space engineer, set off with four other CEC employees. Isaac had previously received a strange video message from his girlfriend, Nicole Brennan, who worked as a medical officer on the Ishimura, to confirm his safety. [2]
Just as the Corleone was trying to land on the Ishimura, the Ishimura's guidance system malfunctioned, and the Corleone crashed in the shipyard of the Ishimura. Immediately after the forced landing, the group launched an investigation into the spacecraft. While exploring the lobby inside the Ishimura, the team members were attacked by an unidentified creature, Necromorph, killing Corporal Johnston and Corporal Chen. The only three members left in the group: the main character, Isaac Clarke, the black security guard Zach Hammond, and the female flight attendant, Kendra Daniels. Unexpected circumstances separate Isaac from the other two, and Isaac investigates the interior of the ship on his own, while keeping in touch with Hammond and Danielles to help each other.
While exploring the interior of Ishimura, Isaac dodged a neurotic attack by one of the survivors, Dr. Challus Mercer. Investigation also revealed that there were many fragments of audiovisual and written materials scattered inside, all of which told the story of what happened before Isaac and his party landed on the Ishimura. The information revealed that the captain of the Ishimura was a religious believer called the Church of Unitology, a religion that was very large and had considerable penetration. The mission of the Ishimura was to obtain the relics considered valuable by the religion on the planet Iggis 7, the Beacon (theMarker; can be understood as a "miracle"), the Unification Church attempted to use the Ishimura to bring the beacon back to Earth for study. The whole mission is actually an illegal mining operation.
When the beacon was brought aboard the Ishimura, all the inhabitants of the planet Iggis 7 suffered from depression and gradually uncontrollably developed violent tendencies, eventually killing each other. The corpses of the inhabitants mutate into terrifying and violent monsters called Necromorphs. After witnessing his daughter's suicide, one of the colony's security guards fled to the Ishimura in an airship with her body, only to bring in the alien lifeforms hidden in the airship. The catastrophe of the colonized planet was repeated aboard the Ishimura, where alien lifeforms slaughtered around the spaceship and transformed the corpses they came into contact with into Necromorphs, which had lost their human characteristics, and their appearance became terrifying, and their behavior was extremely vicious, and they slaughtered lifeforms in a frenzy to obtain new parasites.
While Isaac is constantly being attacked by corpse mutants, he shuttles through different areas of the Ishimura to carry out various repair missions. After the emergency system was repaired, the trio sent a distress signal and successfully contacted another spacecraft, the USGValor. Unknowingly, the crew of the Spirit unknowingly received and opened the escape boat that Hammond had launched in order to seal the corpse mutant, causing the crew of the Spirit to be slaughtered by the corpse mutant, and the Spirit also crashed into the cargo bay of the Ishimura.
Isaac was contacted by Dr. Terrance Kyne, another survivor of the Ishinomura, and advised him to return the beacon to Aegis VII as soon as possible, believing that the beacon was used to block the HiveMind's signals to the individual. With the help of Kane and others, Isaac managed to obtain the Courage's energy core, which was used to power a damaged shuttle ship on the Ishimura, but Hammond was unfortunately killed in the process of capturing the energy core.
Kane thought that sending the beacon back to the planet Iggis 7 would end this, and Isaac agreed, planning to send the beacon back in a repaired shuttle. When everything was ready, Danielles suddenly rebelled, snatched the shuttle boat carrying the beacon, and escaped alone. It turns out that Daniels is an agent sent by the top of the government, mixed with the Corleone's maintenance crew, with the purpose of snatching the beacon on the Ishimura and bringing it back to Earth. When Danielles escapes, it is revealed that the beacon is a copy of the original beacon found on Earth hundreds of years ago, and that the original beacon is believed to be the source of extraterrestrial life, and that everything that happened on the planet Iggis 7 was just a planned experiment.
At this point, a frightened and enraged Isaac enlists the help of his girlfriend Nicole, who successfully uses the equipment on the Ishimura to recall the shuttle boat and retrieve the beacon, and forces Danielles to escape with a life-saving system. Subsequently, Isaac succeeded in returning the beacon to the place where it was excavated. This calmed the HiveMind, but disrupted a gravity control system a few miles above the colony, which was clinging to a pile of ore, which would destroy the colony in a matter of minutes.
Meanwhile, Danielles reappears and plays a clip of Nicole's suicide to Isaac. Only then did Isaac suddenly realize that his beloved girlfriend had long since died, and what he helped again and again on the Ishimura was only an illusion in his brain, and this illusion was the product of the influence of the beacon, and it was the beacon that guided Isaac to send the beacon back.
In the end, the mad leader (HiveMind) kills Danielles. Isaac fought for his life and finally took down the leader. After unloading the beacons, Isaac escaped from the colony using a transport ship. On the spaceship, just as Isaac took off his helmet and watched the video footage sent by Nicole again, the sound of the driver's seat next to him made Isaac look sideways, only to see a mutated dead body that looked like Nicole rushing towards him.

introduction
In the 25th century, humanity is on the verge of extinction as the earth's resources are depleted. In search of a way out, humanity embarked on a journey of cosmic exploration and discovered other resource-rich planets in space. As a result, the humans of Earth have built a huge resource mining spaceship, and the USGIshimura is the most famous of them. [1]
Humans have gone on a frenzied quest for planetary resources and have also caused devastating damage to planets. In the end, humanity turned its greedy gaze on Aegis 7 (Aegis VII; Another translation: Asylum 7, Aegis 7) planet, which has been restricted from visiting for unknown reasons for hundreds of years. Deep below the surface of Iggis 7, a redmarker (understood as a "miracle") was discovered and brought to the Ishimura spacecraft in low Earth orbit. This move became the beginning of the catastrophe of the planet Iggis 7. After the beacon was removed, the humans on the planet Iggis 7 fell into a frenzy and killed each other. Alien hosts mutate human corpses into terrifying Necromorphs, which evolve into even more horrific killings. The inhabitants of the 7 colony of Ijis were almost wiped out. A few survivors fled to the Ishimura spaceship, only to bring in alien creatures with them.
Within hours, the Ishimura was silent. After receiving a distress call, the CEC (Concordance Extraction Corporation) dispatched a small spaceship named USG Kellion to investigate. Isaac Clarke was on his way as a maintenance engineer. For his part, Isaac was also very worried about Nicole Brennan, his girlfriend who worked as a medical officer on the Ishimura. The group was brutally attacked by Necromorphs aboard the Ishimura. Isaac discovers the truth of the matter while searching for a way to escape and learns of his girlfriend's death. In the end, Isaac escaped from the disaster with extraordinary courage and courage (Dead Space 1 story).
plot
Three years later, Isaac is awakened from his sleep by a man named Franco, a subordinate of Diana, who promises to help Isaac out of confinement. But before he could finish speaking, Franco was killed by alien creatures, and Isaac noticed that the disaster on the Ishimura was happening again. [2]
With Diana's help, Isaac runs for his life. During this time, he met Nolan Stross (Nolan Stross, the only survivor of the anime Dead Space: Aftermath). Isaac learns from Diana that he is in the Titans Spacestation in Saturn's orbit, and since Isaac is one of the few people who has seen the beacon and has not been infected (it is implicitly mentioned in the anime Dead Space: Aftermath that extremely high-quality people will "resonate" with the beacon), So 3 years ago, Director Tideman brought him back from the floating debris near the planet Aegis 7 (AegisVII) and locked him up in a hospital confinement cell as a research subject. On the way out, Stroth contacts Isaac again, and after a conversation, it is revealed that he and Isaac have both had contact with the redmarker, as well as being haunted by illusions. But Diana warns Isaac to be careful of Stross, who had killed his wife and children due to a mental disorder.
In order to escape Tedman's tracking, Isaac arrives at the Church of Unitology church after taking a tram through the residential area. Here he found the bodies of many believers who committed suicide and learned a lot of important information from the materials scattered around the church. Founded more than 200 years ago by Michael Altman, the Unification Church believes that humanity can be united by beacon guidance. Apparently the Unification Church used beacons as a sacred object for the denomination. After making his way through a treacherous funeral parlor, Isaac finally arrives at Diana's safe house. As soon as he entered, Isaac was imprisoned by two men. It turns out that Diana is from the Unification Church, and she tells Isaac that the Unification Church brought him here to build beacons. When the others were about to take Isaac on the shuttle, an airship suddenly appeared and attacked, killing Diana and the others on the spot, but Isaac was lucky to escape.
After contacting Stroth, Isaac learns that all the disasters that have occurred are the result of the Beacon, and that the two have a special password set by Tedman in their brains, and that the Beacon needs to be destroyed to end the disaster. Since the beacon was placed in the government district, the two decided to go to the government zone and destroy it. On the way, Isaac is haunted by his girlfriend Nicole's visions three or four times. Nicole constantly tortures Isaac, believing that he has given up on himself, hoping to cause Isaac to feel guilty and eventually "become one" with him. On his way to the government district, Isaac meets another woman named Ellie. At the transit hub, Isaac meets Ellie and Stroth again, and during the conversation, Isaac learns that Ellie is a heavy equipment driver for the CEC (Concordance Extraction Corporation). After Isaac reorganizes the solar array and turns on the power to the tram, the trio ride the tram to the government district.
In order to stop Isaac's advance, Tedman used a solar laser to cut off the track to the tram stop. In desperation, Isaac returned to the Ishimura and activated the gravitational cord. After returning to the tram stop in the rescue pod, a video message arrives that Stroth is going to gouge Ellie's eyeballs. It turns out that after being affected by the beacon, Stroth has always been unable to resist the illusion, and believes that turning off the beacon requires communication with the beacon, and gouging out the eyes has become a key step in his identification. Isaac rushed to stop him, but was attacked by Strøss and killed him in desperation.
Isaac finally can't bear the influence of Nicole's vision, admits that he still loves Nicole, and calmly faces the torture of the illusion. After being freed, Isaac decided to destroy the beacon himself. He and Ellie drove a mining cart to the government district. After learning that the beacon had been placed on the lowest level of the government area, Isaac broke through the encirclement of government forces and destroyed the power equipment on the ground floor of the space station, de-energizing the protection network in the government area. As a result, many corpse variants tested by the government were released, and the government army was wiped out in an instant. The completely out of control beacon continues to attract corpse morphs and Isaac. Before the operation, Isaac did not want Ellie to risk her life and forcibly ejected the lifeboat she was in to escape. In order to destroy the beacon, Isaac went to the location of the beacon alone. Beacon intended to use Isaac's feelings for Nicole to hack into his brain, but was destroyed by Isaac instead.
After the beacon was destroyed, the station's nuclear power generator became unbalanced and exploded. As Isaac sat still, Ellie broke the roof of the space station with an airship, and the two escaped from the Nightmare Land together. On the airship, Isaac recalled what had happened on the Ishimura and glanced at the passenger seat again. This time, what he saw was no longer an illusion, but the figure of Ellie, a comrade-in-arms who was born and died together.
The origin of beacons
In 2208 C.E., an official expedition team went to Chicxulubcrater (now widely believed to be the remnant of a meteorite impact that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago) in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, including Michael Altman, a geophysicist who would later be posthumously recognized as the founder and spiritual leader of the Unification Church.
The most astonishing discovery of the expedition was a mysterious object known as the BlackMarker, which is speculated to be a relic of an alien civilization. In the course of their research, many members of the expedition, including Ultraman, were influenced by the spirit of BlackMarker. Some of the findings about BlackMarker are as follows:
1. The BlackMarker contains the human DNA code, and the BlackMarker is likely to have a direct connection with human evolution.
2. Michael Altman and BlackMarker have a psychic connection, and the information provided by BlackMarker to him makes him even more convinced of the above inference.
3. Many people who have been affected by BlackMarker's spirit have begun to hallucinate, lose their minds and even become crazy. However, after establishing a mental connection with the BlackMarker, Altman believes that the power that causes people to hallucinate and go crazy comes from the human brain itself, not the BlackMarker. He believes that it is the defense mechanism activated by the human brain to resist the psychic influence of the BlackMarker that makes people lose their minds. (A voice log later in Dead Space 2 mentions that the number of people who are able to establish a psychic connection with the beacon Marker - "peaceful conversations" is very small, and most people are simply forced to accept Marker's influence and go crazy, and Ultraman's theory explains why a few people such as the game's protagonist Isaac Clarke and himself are able to maintain their sanity after talking to Marker.) )
Unfortunately, the expedition ended in tragedy. Some of the members of the expedition who had fallen into a frenzy began to see the BlackMarker as a gift from the gods, and Michael Altman, due to his ability to create a peaceful and spiritual connection with the BlackMarker without side effects, was regarded as a prophet. The mad Believers began to use violence against other members of the so-called "heretic" team, and the BlackMarker's unexpected reconstitution effect on dead cells led to the first-ever outbreak of Necromorphs, killing most of the expedition members. Ultraman realizes the danger of the BlackMarker and personally destroys the research base, causing the BlackMarker to sink to the bottom of the sea and its whereabouts are unknown.
Ultraman's Death Unification Church was founded
Michael Altman left the official organization after surviving the expedition and tried to reveal the truth. And the authorities began a campaign to exterminate him. Ultraman was eventually arrested and secretly executed on March 15, 2215, and the research materials on the BlackMarker in his possession of another expedition member, Harmon, became the key to replicating another Marker. Ironically, the military personnel who commanded the operation portrayed Altman's death as an honorable martyrdom, falsely claiming that Altman had been assassinated by dissidents while spreading the truth of Marker's teachings. And distorted Michael Altman's research on BlackMarker into the key to the second evolution of humanity - the so-called "conversion" (Convergence), which was the founding of the Unification Church. In the later spread of the doctrine, the Unification Church became the largest and most influential religion in the known universe, and Michael Altman was posthumously recognized as the first prophet, the first martyr, the founder of the church, and the spiritual leader. Being enshrined in this way on the shrine, Ultraman is afraid that he doesn't know how to feel under the nine springs.
First Iggis 7 event
In 2314 AD, about 200 years before the outbreak of the "Dead Space" event, the Earth government successfully reverse-engineered a new Marker, known as a near-perfect replica, based on the BlackMarker research data it had. The government moved RedMarker and researchers to the Asteroid Aegis 7 (Aegis VII; It is one of the game stages of Dead Space and the location of the anime Dead Space: Collapse). RedMarker was first launched, and researchers succeeded in creating a genetically recombinant microbial life form under the influence of RedMarker. Then, as everyone knows, a second eruption of Necromorphs resulted in a large number of deaths. The survivors were led by Dr. Eando Dukaj. They discovered that the RedMarker could create a force field that prevented the corpse mutant from reorganizing and inactivating it, which they called "DeadSpace" (which is where the title of the series comes from). The survivors managed to amplify the DeadSpace force field, sealing off the head of the corpse mutant (HiveMind) and the infected. The government then sealed off the entire planet of Iggis 7, and all information was classified as top secret.
Second Iggis 7 Incident
In 2508 AD, the RedMarker left behind on the planet Igis 7 was accidentally discovered by a mining company, and the USGIshimura arrived. Necromorphs erupt again, and Isaac Clarke establishes a spiritual connection with RedMarker. RedMarker destroyed (the plot of the anime Dead Space: Collapse and the original game Dead Space). There is evidence that Isaac Clarke was taken to the Titan colony space station on Titan after the incident.
The O'Bannon incident
In 2509 AD, the USGO'Bannon traveled to the planet Igis 7 and found the RedMarker fragments, which destroyed the planet Eagles 7 and the Necromorphs erupted for the third time. Nolan Stross made a psychic connection to the RedMarker shard, but the hallucinations led him to kill his wife and children with his own hands. Stros was later rescued and taken to the Titan colony space station (Dead Space: Aftermath of the animated series).
Marker 12 was built
Between 2508 and 2511 AD, researchers at the Titan colony on Titan reverse-engineered a new Marker, known as Beacon 12, based on RedMarker data obtained from the brains of Isaac Clark and Nolan Stross.
Titan Space Station Event
In 2511 AD, the Necromorphs erupted for the fourth time, resulting in the destruction of Marker12 (Dead Space 2 storyline).
Marker's plot in F2
There are currently three Markers in the set:
1. BlackMarker: The original marker, found on Earth, the remains of an alien civilization. Appears in the novel.
2. RedMarker: According to research on BlackMarker, the Marker is reverse-engineered to replicate the Marker, which is close to a perfect replica. Appears in the first generation of the game and anime.
3. Beacon 12 (Marker12): According to the data copied in the brains of two people who have established a mental connection with RedMarker, it is estimated that the replication completion is not high. Appeared in the 2nd generation of the game.
About the "personality" of the three-seater Marker:
1. BlackMarker: Provides the protagonist with information about human evolution and advises the protagonist to escape from Necromorphs.
2. RedMarker: Guide the protagonist step by step to stop the Necromorphs from erupting.
2. Beacon 12 (Marker12): Deceives the protagonist and tries to kill the protagonist (the result of incomplete copying).
The audio after the end of the Dead Space 2 playthrough tells us that Marker 12 is just one of the second reproductions, and that there may be at least 11 more similar Markers scattered across the universe. Considering that EA and Visceral couldn't have turned the old BlackMarker out so early, these 11 Markers should be the key to the sequel and various derivatives.
