Chapter 82: On the Road

Bow and thank you for the generous reward of "Long Hair Heng Piao" again!

Although chatting with a group of road train drivers on the road delayed a little time, it did not prevent Tang Feng from reaching Itadanna before nightfall.

When driving in the interior of Australia, try to avoid night driving, because on the Australian continent, many animals such as kangaroos, bison and other social animals, most of them are active at night, and they will cross the road in groups at night, so it is easy to encounter these aboriginal creatures by night car. And once the driver is not careful, there is a possibility of catastrophic accidents.

The vastness of the Australian continent can easily make drivers forget your speed, and what do you do if you are traveling at a high speed of more than 120 kilometers per hour at night and suddenly a herd of bison bursts out? It's chilling to think about!

This point, as early as when Tang Feng came to Australia for the first time, the leader had already told him, so this driving trip, Tang Feng also kept this in mind, unless something terrible happened, once night fell, Tang Feng would never move again.

Tang Feng arrived in Itadanna at less than six o'clock in the afternoon, and it was still early.

Ita typical pocket town, and it's not appropriate to describe Itadanna as a practical town, because it's too small with only five or six houses. In fact, there is no town level of government in Australia, and there are only three. Commonwealth-State-County (Shire), but these scattered settlements in a vast area of the outback are customarily referred to by Australians as small towns.

Just like Itadana, it's best to call it a "human settlement", but it's been a town for hundreds of years.

Like the towns Tang Feng had seen, there was an airstrip in Itadana, but this airport was a little far from the town, two kilometers away. There are only a dozen or so people in the town who settle here, and they tend to the surrounding pastures of more than a few hundred square kilometers.

After coming out of Mali, it has entered the Great Artesian Basin, which is the third largest basin in the world and the largest artesian basin in the world. In this large basin, a random well may be an artesian well, that is, a well that can flow water without a pump.

However, although the groundwater in the Great Artesian Basin is very rich, most of these waters are hot water wells rich in sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and sodium chloride, which are not suitable for agricultural irrigation, but these waters can provide drinking water for livestock in arid pastoral areas, so there are still many very large areas of pasture in the Great Artesian Basin.

These pastures are often tens or even hundreds of square kilometers in size, and some large pastures simply exceed the area of thousands of square kilometers, but these pastures are nothing compared to the much larger artesian basin.

Most of these pastures are built on the banks of the seasonal rivers in the Great Artesian Basin, because although there are some seasonal rivers in the Great Artesian Basin, there will also be fresh water in the rivers during the wet season, so most of these human settlements are also on both sides of the seasonal rivers.

The small town of Itadana, for example, is located on the north bank of a small river called Ducanina.

The town is small, but it has a gas station, a repair station, restaurants, and inns, but like other towns, the restaurants and inns are all in the same house.

Tang also met a road trip couple from Birdsville, and the three of them had a modest dinner together in a small restaurant and talked about the scenery they encountered along the way, during which the couple also talked about Vincent and their road train fleet.

However, the two of them were not as lucky as Tang Feng, just in time for the road train convoy to rest, so when the two of them saw the photos taken by Tang Feng on the road train, they were very envious.

After eating, Tang Feng took Depp and Donnie for a long walk as usual, and then returned to the room to rest.

Early the next morning, after breakfast, Tang Feng said goodbye to the couple and the town, and hurried to another settlement, Mangerani, a hundred kilometers away.

Mangerani is basically located at the midpoint between Mali and Birdsville, a settlement not much larger than the small town of Itadanna, also on the north bank of a seasonal river called Derwent. However, Tang Feng did not stay at Mangerani for too long, just took a dozen photos here, stored the image of this small town in his mobile phone, and continued to drive to the next town, Clifton Hills.

The town of Clifton Hills is the last town on the Birdsville Trail in South Australia, just over a hundred kilometres from Portsville.

Clifton Hills is no longer on the side of the Birdsville Trail, but about two kilometers from the road. Located at the entrance of the Seven Mile River into the Warburton River, the town is also slightly larger than the first two towns, but it is also extremely limited. Because of its proximity to the Warburton River and the Seven Mile River, Clifton Hills is much better off than the first two towns, at least with some tall trees around the town.

It was noon when Tang Feng arrived in Clifton Hills, and the residents of Clifton Hills gave Tang a great deal of enthusiasm for visitors like Tang Feng who came from afar. And Tang Feng's luck is also very good, because just this morning, the daughter of the old residents of Clifton Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Clark, has just entered the wedding hall, so the old Mr. and Mrs. Clark slaughtered a valuable Australian Wagyu cow and celebrated with the people of the town.

It was at this time that Tang Feng entered Clifton Hills, so he was warmly invited by more than 20 hospitable Clifton Hills residents.

The inhabitants are herders, mostly raising sheep and cattle. The famous Australian Wagyu cattle are raised from such pastures. Because Clifton Hills is adjacent to two large seasonal rivers, the town is surrounded by good pastures, so the Australian Wagyu cattle produced here are still very famous.

When it comes to beef, people will naturally immediately think of the famous Kobe beef, which is the meat of Japanese Wagyu beef. In fact, Australian Wagyu is a purebred Wagyu imported from Japan, and then crossed with the local Australian Angus cattle breed.

The first generation of Australian Wagyu cattle was crossed from 100% Japanese Wagyu cattle and 100% Australian Angus cattle breeds, so they contain 50% Wagyu blood, called "F1"; Then F1 is combined with 100% Japanese Wagyu to become the "F2" containing 75% Wagyu blood, so that the continuous crossbreeding will make the Australian Wagyu bloodline infinitely close to the Japanese Wagyu, and also make the "F4" Australian Wagyu become the second largest cattle breed in the world after the Japanese Wagyu.

Although I don't know how many generations of Wagyu beef the old Clark couple slaughtered, it doesn't matter, the most important thing is that Tang Feng can also enjoy this happiness with the big guys, which is the most important thing!

After a cheerful noon and tasting freshly baked Australian beef, Tang Feng said goodbye to the town and drove more than 100 kilometers away to Birdsville, and finally arrived at this town at the junction of the two states more than an hour later!
