Chapter 525: The Two Rivers Region
Tang Feng and the others entered the city of Arica, and it was already more than nine o'clock in the evening. The main reason is that Tang Feng spared a big circle on the way, went to the small town of Kodepa, and then returned along Route 31.
Although this circle is not large, only about 100 kilometers, but the 10-kilometer mountain road near the small town of Kodepa is very difficult to walk, not to mention many curves on the road, and the side of the road is a cliff of hundreds of meters, so you have to be extra careful when driving.
The hotel Tang booked in Arica was the Pan Am Hotel Arica, a five-star hotel located on the southwest coast of Arica, about two kilometers from the city center. Because this hotel has a separate villa, Tang Feng chose to stay in this hotel.
Early the next morning, when Tang Feng got up, he found that the scenery of this hotel was really good.
In front of you is the blue Pacific Ocean, and a kilometer to the north is the famous "Arica Hill". When I came last night, it was too dark to see the surrounding scenery clearly, so when I saw this famous hill after dawn, Tang Feng couldn't help but be shocked by the scenery of this big hill.
This large hill is a dirt hill that stretches for about three kilometers and is only about 100 meters high, but because it is less than 100 meters from the coast, it looks very spectacular.
This large hill is also an indispensable attraction for tourists who come to Arica, and if you don't visit this big hill in Arica, it's like tourists don't climb the Great Wall when you arrive in Yanjing.
On the big hill there is a museum of historical weapons, an observation deck, and a blue-gray statue of Jesus, facing the Pacific Ocean, with its back to the city, arms outstretched, as if to embrace the whole of the Pacific Ocean. It is very similar to the statue of Jesus on the top of a hill in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Standing on the observation deck, you can overlook the entire city of Arica.
To the north of the hill is the famous Cologne Square, and Tang Feng and his party spent more than 40 minutes playing on the hill for a while, and then drove straight out of the city. Today's Tang destination is the area between the Rio Luluta River to the north and the Rio San José River to the other.
The Rio Luluta River is the northernmost river in Chile and has very little volume. Like the San José River in Rio, more than ten kilometers to the south, in the valley of this river. It is planted with a variety of crops.
In the desert region of northern Chile, the crops of the local population are grown in these river valleys, which are irrigated by a few small freshwater rivers.
In the course of the Rio Luluta River, there is Route 11, which is also an international road to Bolivia, and in the course of the San José River in Rio to the south, Route 27, between these two rivers. There is a road connection marked 143. Tang Feng's destination today is this Route 143.
Because only by standing on this road can the survey range of the star core be used to the fullest. Standing on this road, the survey radius of 56 kilometers of the star core is enough to envelop the area between the two rivers.
The altitude in this area varies very much, almost every three kilometers, the altitude rises by two hundred meters, but again, what makes Tang Feng happy. In the area east of Route 143, no reconnaissance wells have been found.
Generally, the exploration wells used to survey copper mines are often drilled very deep. A few hundred meters is a trivial matter, and some survey wells can even be drilled to a depth of one or two thousand meters, so this kind of survey well is very easy to find in the survey of the star core. But this piece is about fifteen kilometers long and about ten kilometers wide, and Tang Feng did not even find a reconnaissance well.
The area is a typical desert, sandwiched between two small mountains that are about 1,200 meters above sea level. The altitude is in a short fifteen kilometers, from six hundred meters directly to one thousand four hundred meters.
This area is very good, at least Tang Feng is very satisfied. One is that the altitude is not very high, so it has little impact on the cost of copper mining. Second, the area is sandwiched between two freshwater rivers. It can provide sufficient fresh water resources for copper mines. Thirdly, there are roads at the north and south ends of the area, and there is also this Route 143, so that the transportation cost of both copper ore and finished copper will not be very large.
The only reason why no one has surveyed such a good area is because it is an alluvial zone.
In this area, you can see criss-crossed dry rivers, and the snow that melts from the Andes every year washes down from the mountains on a large scale, and although Arica will be swallowed up by the desert if it does not reach it, this area is flooded every year
Under such geological conditions, it is obviously unrealistic to want to mine copper ore from here. No one wants a pit that has just been dug up for a short time to be washed away by meltwater from a snow-capped mountain, and it doesn't happen once, but every year, so those mining companies don't survey in this kind of place.
However, this is not difficult for Tang Feng, because Tang Feng can completely use the star core's terrain change function to change the topography of the eastern end of this area, which is the main route of the snow-capped mountain meltwater, so that the snow-capped mountain meltwater directly enters the Rio San Jose River, instead of directly alluvial this area.
This area is wide in the west and narrow in the east, and every year in spring, the meltwater from the snow-capped mountains in the Andes Mountains will leak out of the narrowest gap in the east, so if the gap is blocked, the meltwater will not wash down.
This is very simple for Tang Feng, only need to consume a part of the energy storage of the star core, and a small mountain can be formed in the gap in the east, thus cutting off the way of meltwater alluvial in the snow mountain.
It's a nice place, it's really nice!
After repeatedly confirming that no survey wells had been found in this valley of about 150 square kilometers, Tang Feng finally came to such a conclusion for this area.
Now that the location has been determined, the next step is to apply for the right to survey the area in the name of Tang's Mining. Of course, before that, Tang also needs to deal with Chile's "Foreign Investment Committee".
As a foreigner, if you want to invest in copper mining from Chile, although the conditions are very relaxed, the initial review is very rigorous, and after the approval of the "Committee on Foreign Investment", you must also obtain the approval of the Mining and Geological Services Agency, the National Environmental Protection Commission, the Chilean Copper Commission and other departments, and at the same time you need to obtain the most important water rights.
Anyway, there are a lot of procedures in this series, but Tang Feng doesn't need to run these things personally, he only needs to determine an area, and then the rest of the work is handled by McKenzie Law Firm. Now, Tang's Mining has established a partnership with McKenzie and has become another important client of McKenzie.
After this set of procedures is completed, Tang Feng can return here, and then use the star core to directly loot Anglo American and Barrick Gold's copper mines in Chile.
When browsing the information of the major copper mines in Chile last night, Tang Feng suddenly found that Barrick Gold also has two copper and gold mines in Chile. A sheep is herded, and a flock of sheep is also driven! (To be continued.) )
