Chapter 50: The Xuande Furnace of the Ming Dynasty (Second Update)
These two ordinary things in the eyes of Fang You and the others made Chu Lao's face show a look of surprise, he shook his head, and nodded lightly at Wu Lao, he couldn't imagine that this old Wu Zhen's temperament, in order to exchange for Huadiao wine, showed a lot of sincerity.
Although it is said that it is a thing of equal value to Huadiao wine, but Huadiao wine is so rare, without the appraisal of wine experts, Chu Lao and they can't know its true value at all, so that Wu Lao can take out a collection casually, and it can also be used as a treasure that matches the value of Huadiao wine, even if Chu Lao wants to say no, there is no reason.
Chu Lao smiled, he wouldn't worry about Wu Lao taking out some defective products in exchange for Huadiao wine, as the president of an antique association, if he didn't even have this bit of integrity, I'm afraid he would have perished many times, he just didn't expect this old man to take out the two treasures at the bottom of his box.
On the table, there were two things, one of which Fang You knew was a painting from the appearance, but the painting was rolled up, and it was covered with a layer of brown paper, so it was impossible to know the content inside.
On the other hand, Fang You looked at the bright yellow and shiny thing on the table, which looked like an incense burner in appearance.
This incense burner is bronze, the color is a little dull, but looking at it, the incense burner seems to exude a unique luster, not as rough as ordinary bronze vessels, this burner body is like a beautiful woman, its skin is smooth and delicate, people can't help but want to go up and touch two.
The utensils made of metal were also as delicate as satin, which surprised Fang You a little.
"Lao Wu, I didn't expect you to bring this treasure, it was unexpected." Chu Lao smiled slightly and sighed helplessly.
Wu Lao put the copper furnace in his hand and played with it, from the expression of love and pity, you can see how much Wu Lao loves this copper furnace, "Hehe, don't you know that I love wine as much as my life, as long as there is wine, I can care about everything, this Huadiao wine is rare in a hundred years, I naturally have to take out a good treasure to change, otherwise, how can I reflect the value of Huadiao wine." ”
Speaking of this, Wu Lao put down the copper furnace and smiled at Fang You, "Besides, I still expect to use these treasures to have a good relationship with Fang Xiaoyou, and it's easy to discuss the next time I change the Huadiao wine, isn't it." ”
Old Chu couldn't help but shake his head, this old man Wu is a little greedy, such a precious flower carving wine, there are only a few jars left in the world, and it is a blessing to have one, this old man Wu is a little delusional.
"Old Chu, is this furnace really a Xuande furnace?" Picking up the stove, Fang You kept looking at it, and when he saw the bottom section below, he asked with some surprise, Chu Lao had told him about several rare treasures in the antique world these days, among which the Xuande furnace was one of them.
Although he has seen the picture, Fang You still doesn't believe that this Xuande furnace is genuine, after all, the genuine Xuande furnace is rarer than rare treasures such as Jun kiln and Ru kiln.
Although the former is rare, it can still be seen in some antique shops, but the genuine Xuande furnace can only be seen in the Capital Museum.
"Hehe, Xiaoyou, as an old man Wu, do you still need to take a broken stove to deceive us, is it true, you can follow the identification method I taught you and take a look at the bottom money below." Chu Lao smiled and nodded.
Fang You nodded a little excitedly, when introducing the Xuande furnace, Chu Lao had introduced him to a standard identification method that has been handed down from ancient times to the present, and turned the stove head down, and the six block letters of the Xuande year system of the Ming Dynasty were engraved on it.
The big character is hard until the waist, the sun and the moon are the same height as the bright word, there is no horizontal in the heart of the German word, the word Xuanzi is full of fat waist, and the clothes are not crossed by the knife, Fang You silently recited this sentence in his heart, no delay, the bottom of the stove is exactly the same as the one above the smooth mouth.
"Old Chu, the bottom paragraph on this is exactly the same as the one on the identification formula you said." Fang You said with a somewhat shocked face,
Chu Lao smiled and didn't say anything, just nodded, and when he heard the words in Fang You's mouth, Wu Lao glanced at Fang You with some surprise, "Fang Xiaoyou, I haven't seen you for a month, your antique skills have increased greatly." ”
Fang You smiled and scratched his head, a little embarrassed, but his Earth Escape Perspective Technique had no effect on substances other than earth, and he couldn't see the aura color inside, so he could only use the method taught by Chu Lao to identify it, but Fang You was not disappointed.
In this way, it will be helpful to one's attainments in antiques, otherwise, when you encounter an antique, you can know its authenticity by looking directly at the color inside, then it is not called playing antiques, antiques are playing with the culture inside, and the stories inside.
Sometimes, when it comes to identifying antiques, in the end, no one cares whether it is true or not, and they are all indulged in the bizarre stories of antiques told by experts.
"Old Chu, is this called Xuande furnace very valuable, I think it's similar to the incense burner in a small temple next to my house." While laughing, Wang Hao probed his brain and interjected a sentence.
Chu Lao and Wu Lao smiled dumbly, and were a little speechless at Wang Hao, who was stunned, he was not playing antiques, so if he said two reckless words, no one would despise him, he would only feel ridiculous.
"Fang Xiaoyou, since you know something about the Xuande furnace, let's tell Wang Xiaoyou about the preciousness of the Xuande furnace." Wu Lao looked at Fang You with a smile, and many of them had the intention of taking the school examination.
When you encounter an antique, you don't need to think about it to be familiar with its origin and how to identify it, which can be regarded as very good in the antique world.
Most of the collectors who play antiques are dissatisfied with a bottle, half a bottle of swaying goods, relying on their own two antique books, they think that they are the strongest in heaven and earth, and in fact, most of the imitation things are bought by this group of people.
Fang You pondered for a while, recalled what Chu Lao said in his mind, and then sorted out his thoughts and began to speak.
Xuande furnace, for the Ming Dynasty Xuande period to create the incense burner, usually used in mausoleums, temples and powerful homes to burn incense, worship Buddha, worship ancestors.
And its casting method and history are enough to explain the preciousness of Xuande furnace and the rich and colorful cultural connotation. There are two legends in the folk and some documents of its casting history, one is the Ming Dynasty
During the reign of Emperor Xuande, in order to satisfy his hobby of playing with incense burners, he ordered the import of a batch of red copper from Siam, which is now called Thailand, and instructed Lu Zhen, the imperial craftsman of the court, and Wu Bangzuo, the waiter of the Ministry of Works, to design and supervise the production of incense burners with reference to the styles of famous porcelain such as firewood kilns, Ru kilns, official kilns, Ge kilns, Jun kilns, and Ding kilns in the imperial palace, as well as some antique books and pictures of past dynasties.
In order to ensure the quality of the incense burner, Lu Zhen once told the emperor in horror that if he wanted to make a good incense burner, the copper had to be refined six times. After refining once, there will be less copper, and after six times, only half of the raw materials will remain.
At that time, Emperor Xuande was rich and wealthy, and he had a strong sense of quality, so he immediately ordered that the number of refining should not only not be reduced, but also doubled (refining twelve times), and precious metals such as gold and silver were added.
This batch of red copper cast a total of 3,000 incense burners, never produced again, Emperor Xuande saw this batch of incense burners that he personally asked, each one is abnormal in atmosphere, full of treasure, very sense of achievement.
Most of these incense burners were displayed in various parts of the court, and a small part was also rewarded and distributed to the emperor's relatives, famous ministers and temples with large scale and vigorous incense. These Xuande furnaces are only known by ordinary people, but not by their shape. After hundreds of years of ups and downs, the copper incense burner cast in three years of real Xuande is extremely rare.
Another legend is that during the reign of Emperor Xuande, the Buddha hall in the palace was on fire, and the gold, silver, and bronze statues were mixed into liquid. Legend has it that the Buddhist scriptures caught fire, and the gold, silver, jewelry, and copper were sintered together, so Emperor Xuande ordered it to be cast into a copper furnace.
Emperor Xuande asked the casters how many times can copper be refined before it can be purified? The caster replied that if the copper was smelted with six fires, the brilliance of the jewel would be revealed. So Emperor Xuande ordered to refine twelve fires and make copper into strips. The copper strips are then melted over a red flame and placed on a sieve made of steel, and the purest ones that drip first are selected to make a furnace.
