Chapter 6: Imperial Reinforcements

A few days later, the scout reported that at night he would see a green light wandering through the forest in the distance.

Brigadier General Harrov, in accordance with the will of the Empire, set up a defensive line here to block the expansion of the army of the undead. Although he has not yet fought the undead, Brigadier General Harrov is fully preparing for the war.

Reinforcements from all over the country are arriving one after another, and with the addition of the original troops, a total of 30,000 Imperial troops are stationed in this open land.

A series of military camps have turned this place into a temporary town.

The soldiers were busily preparing the fortifications, and everyone was confident about the next war, except for the army in Fredenburg.

After communicating with Harrov to no avail, Randall led the remnants of his army to the town of Boship, which was also the focus of this defensive line. Harrov apparently didn't want to get involved with Randall either, so he had to acquiesce to the move.

With the cavalry led by Roger Young, Fredden's army was less than fifteen hundred men, and these were the last of Freden's bloodlines.

Nataya and I walked along the cliffs on the edge of the Sevis Falls, looking for our way down to Lake Akatsuki. Finally, after a few days, we arrived at the shore of the vast lake of Akatsuki. To our surprise, it seems to be quiet these days, except that it's as gloomy as ever.

We followed the clues all the way, along the traces that Avina might have left behind, and after so many days, we still didn't find it.

Just as we were about to give up, we saw the cry of a little girl in the withered forest not far away.

Nataya followed me towards the depths of the forest full of dead trees, and we really saw a little girl with her back to us around a dark cave at the junction of the forest and the mountains.

She laughed crisply, cried sadly. Nataya and I didn't dare to act rashly and decided to observe for a while.

As a result, suddenly the little girl turned around and disappeared before our eyes like that.

The blood-red-eyed crows in the trees flew away, and a chill came over us. I plucked up the courage to find out, even though I was filled with fear. I clenched my sword and headed for the hole. Nataya was also ready to fight and followed behind me.

The dark cave smelled of decay, and I lit a torch. The cave is not narrow, and there are a lot of white bones scattered on the ground.

There was also some green viscous liquid of unknown origin, hanging all around the walls.

The next scene, I didn't expect. Avina, whom we had been looking for for many days, appeared in front of us.

Avina's clothes were in tatters, her upper body was almost all the elven leather armor I had given her, and her lower body was barely clothed, and her snow-white thighs were leaking out.

Seeing this, Nataya hurriedly stepped forward to cut the rope that bound Avina's hands with a dagger, and wrapped the unconscious Avina in a robe.

Without further ado, we decided to immediately return to the town of Bohope to find the Falcon Knights.

At this moment, there were many sharp noises coming from inside the cave.

No, it was thousands of crows rushing out of the cave and rushing towards us.

Seeing that the situation was in crisis, Nataya told me to carry Avina on my back, and we quickly rushed out of the hole. Nataya ran and chanted a spell when a whirlwind bird appeared in the sky.

At the same time, Nataya also used a transformational magic giant technique to make the whirlwind bird dozens of times larger. I can clearly see that Nataya is still a little struggling, and it seems that the consumption of mana is still very huge.

The three of us jumped onto the back of the Whirlwind Bird, which was carrying the three of us towards the town of Bohope.

But we were followed by thousands of black crows, blood-red eyes, a symbol of death, who tried to attack us.

I wielded the Sword of Punishment to kill one by one, and Nataya kept unleashing fireballs to burn at the crows.

Several times, we were almost devoured by a flock of crows, but the whirlwind bird was quick enough to get us out of danger.

After flying for a while, the crows didn't know why they didn't continue to chase after them.

On the other hand, the barracks of imperial reinforcements.

Harrov's scouts reported that there had been more and more green light in the forest at night lately. Harrov ordered his men to be ready to fight at any time. The barracks were put on first level of alert, and the fortifications were built.

A few days later, just as the sun was about to set. The soldiers guarding the barracks yawned, and it seemed that it had been another difficult night.

Suddenly, he was stunned by what he saw, maybe the night wasn't so difficult.

Countless black crows seemed to merge with the dim sky, flying out of the forest on the other side of Freden.

Soon, the alarm bell of the barracks was sounded, and countless torches were lit. The Imperial soldiers are fully armed and ready to teach these enemies of the Empire a lesson.

The first wave of the rocket rain greeted the enemies in the sky, and many black crows were shot and burned to death. The soldiers cheered, and Brigadier General Harrov also had a little more confidence in his heart, it seemed that it was really Randall's army that was useless.

But soon, a confident smile will be permanently frozen on the face, and this is a war of the undead against the living, or rather a slaughter.

Along with this, a large number of evil spirits and ghosts rushed out of the forest, and the trench in front of the barracks was set on fire by Imperial soldiers. I thought that I would stop the undead from advancing, but it seems that this idea is still too naïve.

Crossing the burning trench, the army of the undead quickly rushed to the barracks gate.

Night had completely fallen, and except for the fire, it was an eerie green light.

Then, the second line of defense set up by Harrov's command was activated, and the trap by the camp gate was pulled up, and a huge trench with poisonous thorns appeared at the feet of the undead. The soldiers at the camp gate threw large stones and rolling logs tied to the fence at the enemy.

However, these preparations for the undead are all ineffective. Soon a huge number of evil spirits and spirits broke through the camp gates. The soldiers of the empire were only suffering, twisting, and dying.

Fear spreads to everyone's heart, it turns out that this is the undead, this is death.

The next thing is the rout, everyone just wants to get out of here as soon as possible, but it's too late.

Spirits are the ghosts of dead soldiers, rotten and with rusty weapons that look like skeletal undead in rusty armor. There are no entities, but they can easily attack the living with soul weapons.

The Imperial soldiers put up their last stand, desperately slashing at non-existent enemies with their weapons, and then being impaled to death by those non-existent enemies.

Evil spirits are some of the more evil ghosts that have deeper resentments than evil spirits.

Looking at these huge numbers of undead, Brigadier General Harrov felt extremely desperate for the first time, even more desperate than when he was besieged by the orc army before.
