It can be said that the mysterious layman who recited the "Diamond Sutra" is Huineng's enlightenment teacher, and it is indeed he who led Huineng into the door of Buddhist practice, and opened Huineng's firm heart to the Buddha, however, it is such a teacher, but he did not teach Huineng the ability to read, because according to the words of the layman, it is the way of heaven and earth to the truth, and there is no obstacle to writing. In the end, it will be easier to go astray. It was also under the guidance of this Huineng enlightenment teacher that Huineng finally decided to devote himself to Buddhism and Zen Buddhism, and worshiped the five ancestors of Zen Buddhism, Hongren, as his teacher!

So after such a conversation, the Fifth Patriarch Hongren finally determined that the mysterious layman was his senior brother who was once famous but not tolerated by the righteous path of the world, and Huineng, without a doubt, was the successor of that senior brother's Buddhist cultivation.

Whether it is on talent or wisdom, Hongren knows that he can never be compared with the amazing and brilliant senior brother, and therefore, although he was able to inherit the mantle of the fourth ancestor of the master, he has never been proud of it, but he regrets all the time that the senior brother did not inherit the mantle of the master, so at this time, when the heir of the senior brother came to him, and showed a Buddhist talent far beyond his proud protégé, the fifth ancestor Hongren couldn't help but be moved.

So, after a careful investigation in secret, when Hongren finally determined that Huineng was indeed dedicated to the Buddha and had a pure mind, he finally decided to hand over the mantle of the Zen inheritance of Buddhism to Huineng to inherit......

Because of this incident, Zen Buddhism was split, Huineng went to Lingnan to found the Shaolin Temple South Sect, and Shenxiu inherited the ancestral court of Songshan Shaolin Temple, known as the Shaolin North Sect, when Shenxiu was there, because Shenxiu's outstanding Buddhist cultivation and supreme wisdom were indeed heartbreaking, Shaolin North Sect was once brilliant to the extreme, however, when Shenxiu passed away more than 100 years later, the power of the North Sect declined, and eventually, it was replaced by the Shaolin South Sect created by the six ancestors Huineng......
