Chapter 7: The Shadow of a Ghost Town (5)
It's a horse thief!
From the other party's attire, Gordon recognized his identity at a glance. But Gordon couldn't be sure, was it a living man or a dead man?
The thief's neck hung limply, and he was strangled by a cowhide belt, the other end of which was tied to the trunk of a tree and swayed back and forth. Gordon walked up to the horse thief, his face was gray and shriveled, without a trace of blood, and his skin was wrinkled and cracked, like a dried corpse.
But his bulging eyes were bright, even terrifying, and as he turned, his pupils flickered with a strange light. "Help me! Help me! The thief's cry was sharper and louder, but Gordon did not see his mouth move, and the cry for help seemed to come from his stomach.
Gordon shook his hand and shot a pike, the belt snapped, and the thief fell. Immediately, Gordon's fiery rainbow dagger pierced the calf and was firmly pinned to the ground.
"I can save you, or I can let you die. Got it? Gordon looked down at the horse thief and clenched his dagger. He urgently needed a living mouth to torture the details of the horse thieves and the ghost town.
The horse thief lay on the ground and did not struggle. The wound pierced by the dagger was bloodless, only a fishy gray-black mucus.
Is this person dead or alive? He still had a pulse and a strong heartbeat. Gordon turned the dagger, stirring slightly, and while observing the other party's reaction to the pain, he said gently, "I know that you are a member of the Storm Horse Thieves, and I am a friend of your leader Gust of Wind, and he asked me to meet here in secret. I have a few questions, and if you answer them truthfully, you will not only save your life, but also get enough gold to squander your life. ”
The horse thief didn't seem to feel pain, and he didn't snort, but just stared at Gordon strangely, his pupils lit up like a human.
"Now answer my question. Where did the others go? Have you all entered the ghost town? Why don't you go back to your nest and come here? What's here? ”
"Help me!" The thief's belly screamed again, and his chapped skin began to tremble, as if something was about to emerge from it.
"Answer my question. What's going on? Who hung you from a tree? I can avenge you. Gordon tore open the other man's robe, and a small bag of water was tied to the hem of his underwear. Gordon ripped off the water bag and pulled open his underwear, revealing the horse thief's chest. He saw deep wrinkles crawling all over his chest and abdomen, squirming like living creatures. And apart from the strangulation marks on the neck, there were no new wounds on the horse thief's body.
Either he didn't struggle when he was hung up the tree, or, he hanged himself.
"Tell me, I can save you and get you out of the ghost town!" Gordon jerked out his dagger, pulled the horse thief over, plunged it into his spine and stirred it, stimulating the nerves as hard as he could.
The horse thief shook spasmodically, the corners of his mouth twitched, and an eerie light faded from his pupils. He had a struggling expression on his face, and his throat jerked with a "click" sound.
"Say it, say it and you live!"
"I-dead!" The thief's face twisted in horror, as if he had suddenly regained his senses. "No one can save me! I'm dead, I'm dead! He screamed hysterically, his shriveled flesh bulging in an instant, and wrinkles arched up like countless earthworms, shaking violently.
Gordon abruptly recoiled, and the fiery dagger aimed at the thief's bulging belly.
With a "poof", the fishy liquid splashed, and the horse thief's abdomen broke, burrowing out a black shadow as thin as a baby.
With the glimmer of the Rainbow Dagger, Gordon noticed that the silhouette of the Black Shadow resembled that of a horse thief, except that the skin was blue and indigo, full of folds, and two sharp front teeth turned out of his lips. "Help me! Help me! It screamed as it stood upright like a human and took a clumsy step.
Gordon's heart was shocked, he had seen such a ghost, in the petroglyph on the city wall!
The lake in the petroglyphs is real, and so are the demons!
If the petroglyph descriptions are completely true, then there may be thousands of such evil spirits in the ancient city!
But how does it get into a horse thief? According to the erosion of the walls of the city, the ancient city is at least ten thousand years old, and if the demons had escaped from the inner world and were anti-life, they would never have stayed in the surface world for so long.
Unless they belong to the watch world!
The ancient city is their lair, and they have their own Ming!
This is the ancient ruins!
"Help me, help me!" The baby-like demon screamed and walked towards Gordon, swaying in the first two steps, and walking very steadily in the first step, becoming more and more proficient in his posture, even trying to jump. Its fingernails grow at a rate visible to the naked eye, becoming long and pointed.
It's growing fast! Gordon sprang out, flashed to the left rear of the demon, and kicked right in the knee. The demon fell forward, and Gordon's dagger swung out, severing its calf tendons and not giving it a chance to grow.
The demon tried to get up, but was kicked down by Gordon, and was hit in a series of blows. Gordon uses daggers, fists, kicks, and hidden weapons to attack the demon's organs in turn to find its weaknesses.
"Help me, help me!" Despite the bruises, the demon managed to get up, and the piercing screams spread far away.
As if hearing the evil ghost's cry for help, wisps of eerie smoke drifted out from the nearby cavern, filling in the direction of Gordon, and he heard countless rustling sounds.
"Poof!" The tip of the dagger thrust into the demon's eyebrows, and it screamed, and the flesh melted like a hot candle, revealing Bai Sensen's bones.
The demon's life force is very tenacious, but the center of the eyebrows is its key point. Gordon kicked the white bones away, and the mist continued to surround him, his vision became even more blurry, and it was almost impossible to see, and Gordon suddenly lost his mind for a while. "Die, and you will be liberated by dying." An inexplicable thought flashed through his mind, and he was immediately swallowed up by the dark spiritual sea. He was shocked, and came to his senses, and found himself standing in front of a dead tree, with the thief's leash in his hand, and wanted to put it around his neck.
All around, a large amount of dark fog rolled and surged, and it was only a line away from completely encircling him. Gordon grabbed the thief's corpse, burst out of the gap, and fled into the distance. Behind him, the bones of the demon shattered silently, turning into a wisp of mist and floating up.
Gordon ran wildly along the clearing, getting darker and darker ahead, and strange buildings appeared on both sides. They are piled up of rocks, as large as mountain packs, shaped like beehives, and densely packed with deep holes that are connected to each other. If you go any further, there will be no more, and the rock hive will stretch out, and if Gordon wants to go forward, he must enter it, through deep caverns.
He stopped at the foot of a large rocky hive and opened the horse thief's water bladder. There was only half a bag of water left in it, and he drank it all in one go, calmed down, and began to dissect the body of the horse thief.
The belly of the corpse had been torn open, and Gordon took out the heart, kidneys, liver, and other organs one by one for observation. The vast majority of organs have shrunk, leaving only a crisp epithelium. Only the thief's heart was still intact, and his cardiovascular muscles were thicker, but they had turned grayish-black and hard as stone.
The horse thief was dead when he met me. Gordon slowly stood up, clenched his dagger, and the deep hole in the hive above his head lit up with a faint blue fire.
