Chapter 2 This unfolding is too medieval
"Not at home, not at home?"
When Gawain wakes up again, he finds himself lying in a strange room, separated by brown curtains. He could smell an incense that lifted his spirits.
"Looks like a school infirmary?"
Gawain scratched his head and made this somewhat ridiculous judgment, but he really couldn't think of a more fitting place.
Underneath him was a somewhat shabby nursing bed, the back of which was slightly raised. The snow-white sheets and mattresses are very clean, with a scent from the sun and a faint smell of laundry detergent.
It seemed that someone noticed his movements, and the curtain beside Gawain was gently opened.
"Oh, kid, are you awake?"
The one who spoke was a somewhat stocky woman, with a white scarf wrapped around her head and a tray in her hand.
On the tray was a saucer containing two sandwiches and a glass of pumpkin juice, and next to the pumpkin juice was a low, brown wooden glass.
"Hurry up and eat something, and drink this potion again. ”
The woman put the tray on the cabinet next to the bed, and unreasonably shoved the tray into Gawain's hand, urging him.
But Gawain was staring at the cup.
"For God's sake, are you sure it's a potion? Can you drink it? No, I should say, won't people die?"
Don't dare to ask anything, don't dare to say anything.
He swore he saw the tan liquid in the cup boiling, and the surface was constantly covered with frightening bubbles.
It's like a decoction for a witch in a fairy tale.
"Hurry up and eat, Professor Dumbledore is still waiting for you. For Merlin's sake, I don't know how a kid like you could make yourself like this.
Your muscles are torn, your heart is racing, and your fever is high enough to burn a troll's brain into a walnut! If it hadn't been delivered in time, you might have died!"
Seeing that Gawain was still hesitating, the woman urged a little impatiently. Under her pressure, Gawain picked up the sandwich and took a bite.
The crisp lettuce is paired with the fried bacon, and the aroma of finely chopped scrambled eggs is released in the mouth.
"What's your name?" and where is it?"
In between chewing, Gawain asked the woman a question. He always remembered what Elsa had taught him to be polite to at least know a girl's name before asking her questions.
"Hmm... You can call me Madam Pomfrey, this is Hogwarts, of course! Professor McGonagall didn't tell you?"
The woman smiled, her expression softening a little.
"Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall, can you tell me more details, Madam Pomfrey?"
Gawain could only reply to her with a puzzled look.
He swore he had never heard of the name, let alone who Professor McGonagall was.
But when it comes to hearing about Hogwarts...
His heart raced.
Undoubtedly, this is an important name.
"Merlin's suspenders, it seems that you really don't know anything. Hurry up and eat, Professor Dumbledore will tell you, you don't want him to wait too long. ”
Madam Pomfrey looked embarrassed, as if she was struggling with whether or not to explain to Gawain first.
"Okay. ”
Gawain nodded, sped up his chewing.
"It seems that this Professor Dumbledore will have to find the answer, but he should be a respected person."
Secretly thinking, Gawain was not ready to ask any further. He could see the lady's hesitation, not wanting to cause her any additional trouble.
Time passed quickly, and after sorting out the food in the tray, Gawain was led by Madam Pomfrey towards the headmaster's office on the eighth floor.
By the way, the potion tasted as bad as he had imagined.
It's bitter and sticky, like red wine that has been left open for half a year in a damp basement.
As for the reason why he has such specific associations?
Gawain said he didn't want to recall.
"Is this in a castle? What age is this, the Middle Ages? Seriously?"
Walking briskly through the passage, Gawain only felt that his problems were getting more and more. It is a very large castle with a complex system of wings and towers.
Even in the daytime, the torches on both sides of the passage burned, shining the armor of the knights who adorned it.
"That portrait smiled at me! and..."
Gawain secretly suppressed his guess in his heart, not wanting to shout out, "This will only make others feel stupid." ”
But he was sure that he had just seen a gray-white figure pass through the wall, and greeted him.
After walking down a long hallway, Madam Pomfrey led him to a wooden door. There were two strange-looking stone lions in front of the door, blocking the door tightly.
"Zizi honey candy. ”
Just as Gawain was stunned, Madam Pomfrey took a few steps forward and said to the statue. With a soft "boom", the pair of stone lions actually jumped back a small step, and one of them gave Pomfrey a strange smile.
"Good day, Madam Pomfrey".
The lion's voice sounded a little slurred.
Madam Pomfrey smiled at the lion, walked over to the door, and tapped three times, "Professor Dumbledore, I'm bringing that kid here." ”
"Please come in. ”
There was a somewhat old, but very neutral man's voice from the door.
"Alright, you go in, Professor Dumbledore is waiting for you inside", Madam Pomfrey patted Gawain on the shoulder and pushed him to the door.
"Okay, thanks for your help, Madam Pomfrey. My name is Gawain, Gawain White. ”
Gawain nodded and said to Madam Pomfrey, then stepped aside with a happy smile before pressing his hand on the copper-plated doorknob.
Taking two deep breaths, he pressed his hand to the end.
"I hope there isn't an old man behind the door with a beard that can be hung up to his waist, wearing a snow-white mage robe, and holding a wooden staff, telling me that it's actually 1258, and that I'm the chosen brave man who needs to save the world. ”
Gawain thought to himself and pushed the door to the end.
Behind the door, there is a vaulted office, and through a somewhat narrow aisle, a large desk is seen. The table was filled with all sorts of strange silverware, tinkling from time to time, spitting pale white mist.
And sitting behind the desk was an old man with a beard that could be hung up to his waist, dressed in a snow-white mage robe, and holding a wooden staff.
Noticing Gawain's eyes, the old man turned to Gawain and smiled kindly. His eyes were deep and intelligent, and his dark blue pupils were like an ocean, and he couldn't see through them.
"If one thinks too much, one loses the joy of being a human being. Welcome to Hogwarts, now 1258, my dear Mr. Gauvin White.
You have been chosen to be the brave man who will save this world. By the way, I'm Albus Dumbledore. ”
The old man waved his hand at him and said with a smile. His English sounded strange, like...
It's really in the Middle Ages in general.
