Chapter 40: The Library of Ravenclaw

Suddenly his name was called, Gawain almost hit a spirit, and the British swear words were about to blurt out.

"Penelope-senpai, why are you here?"

Gawain asked in surprise, he thought that this side of the door would be a hidden place.

"I... I was a little late at the library. Is there anything you have to do in the common room in Ravenclaw so late?"

A blush appeared on Penelope's cheeks, and he stiffly tried to change the subject.

This is the common room of Ravenclaw.

Senior sister seems to have just done something embarrassing.

That room just now seems to have a story.

Three thoughts crossed Gawain's mind in an instant, making him feel that the amount of information at the moment was huge.

"Huh?"

He subconsciously touched the knocker behind him, only to find that it had disappeared at some point.

"You're here to visit the Ravenclaw library, right? There's no need to be embarrassed, it's a little late, but the Ravenclaw library is always open to all who aspire to wisdom. ”

Penelope suddenly showed a "I know" look, but he didn't guess what Gawain was thinking.

Her words reminded Gawain.

"yes, but I didn't find where it was?"

Gawain scratched his head.

Under Elsa's training, this is probably his most skillful skill.

After all, who wants to punish an innocent, pathetic, and handsome boy?

"Actually, you've seen it. ”

Penelope chuckled and pointed to the niche behind the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw.

"You wouldn't think it's like a library, full of shelves and tomes, right? it started out as a small collection left by Ravenclaw himself, and then it was added by many students before it was named after the library. ”

She patiently explained that it was obviously not the first time that she had been proficient.

"In other words, is there any work left by Rowena Ravenclaw herself?" Gawain followed Penelope's steps to the alcove, carefully examining the books inside.

The Many Uses of the Moon Mirror and the Principles of Spells, by Popetua Van Kot, A Discussion on the Small Use of Smoke on a Wand, by Rocken McClan, and Gawain's most puzzling book, An Unnamed Exploration of Prophecy Based on the Fall of the Egg Yolk, is unsigned.

If he remembers correctly, Popetua was the inventor of the moon-looking mirror and was even pressed to the chocolate frog for his outstanding exploits; is a quirky...

Minister of Magic.

As for egg yolks?

Who knows what the Ravenclaws were thinking!

"Of course, not everyone's research can be included in this library. Penelope's eyebrows raised beautifully.

But like many other books, Ravenclaw himself left no signature. So maybe you need a little bit of luck, or even better, superior wisdom!"

"Who's that lucky boy?"

Gawain suddenly asked coldly.

"Percy and I were... Little brother!" But Penelope quickly reacted, "It's not a gentleman enough to find out the lady's secret!"

But she said enough.

"Ahem, I'll tell you a secret, don't you tell anyone about it, deal?" her pretty eyes rolled, glancing at the bookshelves in the alcove.

Gawain naturally nodded in agreement.

He's not that boring.

Besides, Percy wasn't a mean, twisted, cold guy like Professor Snape, and it wasn't a novelty to have girls like him.

Although Gawain also couldn't quite understand how Penelope could fall in love with that guy who was too serious.

"I found this when I was in first grade, and Ms. Rowena Ravenclaw left a small copy here... Well... Should it be said to be an album?

It has a blue cover and is engraved with an eagle. You may be a little disappointed, though, because no one has read the contents. ”

Penelope smiled slyly, as if he had seen Gawain's disappointed look, "Then junior brother, you can watch slowly, remember to go back early." ”

"Good night, senior sister. ”

After saying goodbye to Gawain, Penelope walked briskly up the stairs to the second floor.

"Ravenclaw picture books?"

Gawain himself stood in front of the alcove, carefully rummaging through the books, and it didn't take much time to find the album.

As Penelope had said, it was a small, unobtrusive book, with an eagle's head painted on the blue cover, which was chilling to look at.

Blue eyes, sharp like knives.

"Anyway, my mind and I always walk on their heads, and even when I step on my mistakes, I still hold them high. ”

On the title page, the original owner wrote an extremely arrogant sentence in dark green handwriting.

Although the album is not thick, Gawain only took a minute or two to read it all. It's not that his wisdom has surpassed Ravenclaw himself, it's that he doesn't understand it at all.

He finally understood why he had been dragged to Gryffindor when he had said Ravenclaw during the Sorting House.

— but in an unpleasant way.

In the album, there are large clusters of black lines, interwoven into patterns whose meaning cannot be discerned.

He was sure that the "Evans" notebook in his dragon pocket had a connection to it.

It wasn't until the last page of the album that Gawain saw what he barely recognized.

One word.

"Knowledge fills you with information, but wisdom makes you lose yourself. Rowena Ravenclaw wrote in Old English.

For some reason, Gawain was a little uneasy.

After a few moments, Gawain put the album back on the shelves and left the Ravenclaw common room, striding briskly down the spiral staircase.

- The portraits in the hallway were already asleep, and even the most obedient Greentooth Jenny was hanging her head.

Gawain carefully bypassed the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor's office, which was making an eerie sobbing sound, and lightly used a secret passage to let Professor Flitwick walk back with a cup of coffee.

He wanted to avoid passing through the hallway on the right side of the fourth floor.

Fred/George told me that they had snuck into that hallway, and in the innermost room there seemed to be a huge beast sleeping, and the mere sound of snoring could shake the dust off the ground.

However, before they could fully explore, they bumped into a gloomy Snape, who chased him away and deducted house points.

He had already experienced so much in one day, and what he needed now was a sturdy natural awakening, not another great adventure.

"Dragon scum. ”

It wasn't until half an hour later that Gawain finally returned to the warm Gryffindor common room.

After changing into his pajamas, he plunged face down into the pillow and gently touched the abyss that he had woken up.

After taking the Living Hell Potion, Gawain fell asleep.

PS1: Ravenclaw's common room refers to its welcome message, and the library's materials section refers to PM. All three books are written by characters who appear in the introduction, with Roken McClander confirmed to have been the Minister for Magic.

PS2: When Penelope and Percy started, the book doesn't mention, but they were already in love by the time of the second part. So I think there are already signs in the first part, such as study groups, or clubs, etc.
