Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Forbidden Book Zone

Even though Snape had given the bears a good idea of how bad they were, and instead of having them shoot at each other with their wands, he apparently underestimated the extent of their mess.

After once again nimbly dodging Neville, who was bounced off by Dean, and pulling him by the collar to his feet, Snape had to stop the attempt in anger.

Because if he continued like this, he was not sure if he would be like Quirrell in that Quidditch match, trampled down by a buffalo that fell from the sky.

He instead put Seamus and Harry, who had the best command of the spell, to the front, "teasing" them with harmless little spells while pointing out their mistakes harshly.

And everyone else, including the members of the "Holly", repeatedly cast the iron armor under the podium.

This, while just as messy as it may seem, at least no one needs to worry about being taken to the medical room before class ends.

At the moment, it seems that everything is peaceful, and nothing has changed in Hogwarts.

But Gawain never really relaxed.

Although it wasn't initially his will, he's now been involved too much.

It was true that Quirrell was hiding in the Forbidden Forest, but no one knew if "that one" still had any means to sneak into the castle again.

Dumbledore did seal the passage from the Chamber of Secrets to the lake, but he and Gawain were not Parseltongues after all, and they could not truly understand every corner of the Chamber of Secrets like a descendant.

Could it be that Salazar's suspicious and deceitful personality would leave only such an upright path?

The trolls couldn't believe it.

And although Dumbledore still behaved naturally, smiling every day, Gawain could already feel his nervousness.

- because he appeared in the auditorium earlier and earlier.

Many times, before even the students had even arrived in the auditorium, he had already left the castle with Fawkes.

Not only Dumbledore, but the professors were also busy with something.

When Gawain tried to invite Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall to the "Holly" event for two or three weeks in a row, they both regretfully declined, saying that they would be busy before Christmas.

Even Professor Sprout shook his head helplessly and threw him a pack of extraordinarily large pistachios.

And it's obvious what they're busy doing.

- The restricted area corridor on the fourth floor.

It's completely sealed off.

It wasn't the perfunctory locking that even Filch could go in and walk around twice, but it was completely hidden with a spell, and sometimes even at night, you could hear the "clang" inside.

The only way Gawain could deal with it was to make the most of every minute of his time, whether it was learning spells, Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, or boiling potions.

Of course, the history of magic doesn't count.

As Christmas gets closer and closer, Gawain is becoming more and more familiar with his "talent". His current mastery of Transfiguration was still on par with Hermione, but at least comparable to Harry.

What really pleased him was the accumulation of Defence Against the Dark Arts.

So far, in Holly's events, they have gone beyond the relatively simple spells of "Remove Your Weapons" and "Armor Protection" to more complex spells such as "Petrify All" and "Curse Stop".

As the last regular event before Christmas, today they have even started some experiments with "Tongtong Petrochemical".

"Gawain, do you have something to do at night?"

After the event, when Gawain was cleaning up the scattered targets, Harry leaned over to him and said.

"Hagrid has been oddly around lately, often skipping dinner, and I saw him in the library before. Ron and I want to visit him at the cabin, would you like to come along?"

After a moment's hesitation, Harry explained.

But Gawain believed that Harry actually meant "Hagrid doesn't know if he's got another big guy lately, so I want to drag a few more people there so he doesn't wipe himself out."

But his question, Gawain, happened to know the answer.

Because he provided the list of books that Hagrid went to the library to consult, because he was the most direct person in charge of the "Hogwarts-Zabini Basilisk Breeding Project".

Although the basilisk's eyes have been completely covered and dealt with with with a spell, its massive body is no less than a terrifying twisting power.

Is there a better fit for this than a man who is more than ten feet tall and loves such a dangerous beast and has a considerable amount of caregiving experience (mostly from personal experience)?

However, because of Professor Dumbledore's intentions, this matter has not yet been made public in the school, and only a small number of people are aware of it.

"Maybe Hagrid has some hobbies, and if you go to Hagrid, can you lend me the Cloak of Invisibility?"

Pull up a dummy's head with a levitation charm and stuff it back into the cabinet, Gawain replied.

Professors have been busy "glorifying" the fourth-floor corridor lately, and he thinks it's a better time to sneak into the forbidden book section to take a look.

After obtaining the two magical spells of "curse" and "contract", Gawain has been wondering if there are actually many similar things in the past, which are only lost because people can't tell the difference, or are treated as a joke like "Witches' Night Party".

It's just that with Gawain's "reputation", Professor McGonagall will definitely not make a note, Professor Flitwick will ask him in great detail about his purpose, but will also shake his head regretfully and refuse; Professor Snape... It's Professor Snape.

As for Professor Sprout?

Gawain's worst course wasn't the history of magic.

"Okay," Harry shook his head regretfully, "it's under my bed, you can go back to the dorm and get it." ”

After the "Chamber of Secrets" incident, Professor Dumbledore commissioned Professor McGonagall to hand over the cloak to him, saying that it was from his father's legacy.

As soon as the clock struck nine o'clock, Gawain unscrewed open the stone door where the fat lady was, and set out from the Gryffindor Tower.

He carried a flashlight in his right hand, and his whole body was hidden under a cloak, as if wrapped in an oversized sheet.

In order to avoid being exposed by the wind or his movements, he even used Sake's strong tear-off glue around his waist and legs.

But the Cloak of Invisibility is truly a magical thing.

It is not the "inferior" made from the fur of the invisible beast sold in Diagon Alley, and its effectiveness does not fade with time, not only is it light, but the stealth effect is very thorough and stable.

Rounding Filch and Mrs. Loris, Gawain made his way to the door of the library, grimacing at Mrs. Pince, who had just left, and skirting the rope that separated the forbidden and ordinary sections.

PS: In the original book it is a rope, and in the movie it is a door. The original work shall prevail herein.
