First of all, the field of materials is too broad, metal materials, organic materials, inorganic non-metallic materials, functional materials, each thing can write a book or even several books, if someone writes about the ceramic empire in the future, or the superconducting empire, everyone must {{m don't be surprised, because the story here is enough to support a book. I set the question to this extent at the beginning, and I got into a pit.

If you don't understand the mystery, you can't write a story, so the further you write, the harder it becomes. Compared with the industrial overlords, the results of the material empire are better, and there are 8,000 orders when the book is completed, which is considered a better book at the starting point.
