About the puppet
Puppet, originally refers to puppets, such as puppet shows. It refers to a person or thing that is manipulated by others and has no autonomy, such as a puppet government.
When it comes to puppets, perhaps the first thing that comes to mind for the majority of book lovers is the Japanese puppeteer.
Xiao Wu had seen comics like "Night of the Humanoid" before. And in various anime works, there are also ninjutsu that manipulate puppets and so on. Some are manipulated by wires, and some are manipulated by sealing spirits into the body of a puppet. Either way, it's inseparable from the puppeteer behind the scenes.
The material of the puppet is also varied, and the most common one is the puppet. In this book (Chapters 9 and 10 of Volume 1), Xiao Wu describes a huge giant puppet wrapped in a fire cloth (an ancient fireproof material).
In some Zhiwei novels of the Tang Dynasty, such as "Youyang Miscellaneous Group", puppet beauties also appeared. There are also humanoid puppets used to guard the tomb. Xiao Wu couldn't help but wonder, are the armored corpses that appear in the tomb robbery novel also a kind of puppet?
But did the puppets originate from Japan or China?
In the section of Yuangui City in this book, through the mouth of Bai Zeshen, it is mentioned that there was already a puppet technique in ancient China.
Liezi. Tang Wen once recorded that on the way to the West, King Mu of Zhou met a craftsman named Yanshi who volunteered to perform. The use of leather, wood and other materials to create a well-equipped singer and dancer.
King Mu looked in amazement, and saw that the singer and dancer walked slowly, pitching freely, completely like a real person. How ingenious! It bows its head and sings, and its voice is in tune with the melody; It dances with both hands raised, and the steps follow the beat. Its movements are ever-changing, and they can do whatever they want. King Mu thought he was a real person, so he called his favorite Sheng Ji and his concubines to watch his performance. When the performance was about to end, the singing and dancing artists blinked their eyes to tease the concubines around King Mu. King Mu was furious and wanted to kill Yanshi immediately. The Yanshi was so frightened that he immediately dismantled the singers and dancers and showed them to King Mu, who had made up leather, wood, resin, lacquer, chalk, black charcoal, dansha, and green goose. King Mu examined it carefully, and saw that it contained liver and gallbladder, heart and lungs, spleen and kidneys, and stomach and intestines; On the outside, there are muscles, bones, limbs, fur, and teeth, although they are all fakes, but none of them are not available. After putting these things back together, the cabaret artists returned to their original state......" - from the Internet.
After that, there were all kinds of achievements of the carpentry ancestor Lu Ban, Mozi's flying kite and Zhuge Liang's wooden ox and flowing horse.
These feelings recorded in the book are more biased towards the jishu craft, and they are different from the control of the magic in ninjutsu.
However, if the craftsmanship is available, if you meet one or two masters, there may be more breakthroughs.
Back to the novel, the Japanese puppeteer escaped in the Nakagen ghost city, what intrigues will there be after that? How many more unexpected puppets are there? I believe that book friends can get the answer in the successive updates (chapters 29 and 30 of the first volume), and sell it first~
