36 Chapter 36
Natme Indontris is a witch.
She comes from the ancient family of Ingdontris, a wizard family that has fallen and she is the last descendant of this family. She is not married and has no children.
She used to have a fiancΓ©, Arcturus of the Black family. However, her mother kept saying that the blood of the Black family was not pure, and their family was actually a pure-blood traitor. And in order to protect the Ingdontris family, she proposed that Actulus be the family, and after receiving refusal, she simply refused the marriage. In her words:
'Rather than let the blood of the Ingdontris family be defiled, I would rather it perish. β
After her mother's death, she was confined to her ancestral home, accompanied only by Job, a faithful house-elf. She rarely goes out and doesn't have any affection for the wizarding world now. She despised the Ministry of Magic, believing that the laws they had enacted regarding the good treatment of Muggles were a shameful step backwards. She was outraged that Muggle-born Mudblood were able to enter and leave the wizarding world with dignity.
'They don't deserve a wand!' β
'They don't deserve to learn magic!' β
'They're not wizards!' β
But to her sadness, there are fewer and fewer wizards who think this way. And now the so-called wizard aristocrats are all nouveau riche in her eyes, and the real wizards should value magic, spells, or potions more than decorating their houses with gold and precious stones.
Many of the precious bloodlines of wizards have perished, and many more are being contaminated. Blake, Malfoy, the former wizarding nobles have all fallen, their wands have become ornaments, and she thinks they can't even let out a single star now.
She was glad that she had protected the reputation of the Ingdontris family and had not allowed it to join the wizarding families. She was not afraid of death, and she looked forward to going to the other world to meet the ancestors of Ingdontris, and she would tell them that she had not disgraced the surname Ingdontris.
In the winter of 1943, she went to Diagon Alley to buy some potions. If it weren't for not believing in the eyesight of house-elves, she wouldn't want to go out at all. The owners of these potions shops are very cunning, and they always look for opportunities to deceive customers. But although she is old, she is not so easy to deceive.
It had been raining for several days, and the stone floor was slippery. She was carrying a handbag and wearing a hat, and she almost slipped without paying attention, when a young wizard came to her aid. He helped her up, and when she was on her feet, he let go of his hand, and stood beside her like an old knight, and asked her politely, "Madame, are you alright?" β
His voice was clear and deep, like the deepest, lowest and best note of the organ.
- This is a child of good status.
Natme looked up, ready to thank him, perhaps she could cast a blessing spell on him as a token of thanks. She despised the Muggle-like style of a rich old man, who only knew how to throw money. They are wizards, and wizards only use their wands.
But she suddenly got stuck when she saw him, perhaps because of her hesitation, which made the young wizard think that there was something wrong with her.
He took her hand and whispered, "Madam, if you want, maybe I can treat you to a cup of tea?" Can you wait for the rain to light down before leaving, or let me call a car for you? β
ββ¦β¦ Of course, I'd love to. It was almost as soon as Natme finished realizing what she had said. Oh, it hasn't happened in years. She is like a little girl who is just beginning to fall in love.
The young wizard helped her to a nearby cafΓ©, pulled out a chair for her, and paid for her by the waiter she had called, and then he glanced at his watch and said to her, "Madame, please rest here slowly." I'll quit first. β
She was disappointed, but she also saw the Hogwarts crest on his chest and the Slytherin colors.
- Then he is indeed a wizard nobleman.
Natme suddenly felt that among the new generation of wizard nobles, there were still people who could afford this kind of glory.
"Thank you very much, young sir." She said, "How can I repay you?" β
The young wizard smiled slightly coldly and said, "You don't mind. He seemed to be in a hurry to go, but he stooped down and took her hand and kissed her handβso impeccable that she could not even remember anyone who had done it more perfectly than he did.
She felt a little embarrassed, which was a real surprise. She cleared her throat reservedly and sat more steadily.
He said, "It is an honour to serve such a distinguished lady as you. He lifted his eyes, and his black pupils shone brightly.
He's just amazing.
Natmay noticed that he had changed his address to her from 'Madame' to 'Mademoiselle', and she was even more nervous at the fact that he had discovered that she was still an unmarried young lady.
"Well, then, I'm taking my leave." He said.
Seeing that he was about to leave, it was the first time that Natme was so out of shape, and took the initiative to stop him, and asked, "Please ask your name, if it is convenient, please tell me your name, and I will definitely repay your kindness." β
She sat up a little straighter, picked up the shelf of the Ingdontris family, and said, "I'm Ingdontris." β
He stopped, seemed to think for a moment, and then she saw him look back at her in surprise. This satisfied her vanity a lot, and she valued him even more.
- He knows Ingtang Tris, then he must also have a noble identity.
She knew very well that there were very few people in the current wizarding world who knew about the ancient wizarding family of Ingtang Trais, and the younger generation had never heard of it.
"It's rude." He solemnly saluted her again, "I beg your pardon, I don't know who you are. β
It seemed a little difficult for him to speak: "...... My last name is Riddle, you can call me Tom. β
She hadn't heard the name Riddle, but what did it matter? There are many wizards with identities who give random names in order to hide people's eyes.
"Tom." She called him with a smile, she loved the name, how affectionate.
"My name is Natme." She held out her hand to him again, and seeing him holding it, she smiled and said, "You can come and visit me." β
After returning home, she was looking forward to his visit every moment. She kept asking Jober to clean the living room again and again, replace the sofa with better mats that matched the curtains, clean the carpet, and replace the flowers in the vase. She didn't want to be rude when he came.
She had never disliked her hairstyle so much, and she felt that her hair color looked too gray, which made her years older.
She looked at herself in the mirror β if she was young, if she was only sixteen, if she was ......
She sat in her bedroom disappointed, feeling for the first time that time was unfair to her. If she could make the potion of the Fountain of Youth, she would be a match for him. The Ingtang Tris family can also continue.
She kept this thought deep in her heart.
Tom would visit her every week and bring her flowers, all sorts of flowers. Sometimes he bought it, sometimes he picked it in the forbidden forest of the school.
She knew that he was a wizard of unknown origin.
"I don't know who my parents were, I grew up in a Muggle orphanage."
Poor Tom.
She will curse those who abandon him. She comforted him, "Don't worry, Tom. You must be a descendant of an ancient wizarding aristocracy, I can tell at a glance. β
Yes, she thinks that's exactly what it is.
Because Tom has a special talent: the Parseltongue.
Ever since there were wizards, only Slytherin had a talent.
"You must be a Slytherin descendant!" Natmay found all the ancient texts he could find and proved to Tom that he was of noble origin, that he was an aristocrat and that he had a talent that no other man had.
Tom is a distressing child. How he looked forward to his parents' love, he was always so uneasy. often revealed in front of her, and every time she came, she would gently hug him, comfort him, and reassure him.
"It's okay, Tom. You still have me. I'll always be here. β
And he is sometimes full of enthusiasm and energy! He always told her about his ideals, his ambitions.
"I want to change the wizarding world! I want to change this pure-blooded wizarding world that is declining! Otherwise, the wizarding world of the future will be completely polluted by Muggles! We could lose all the pureblood wizards! β
"That's right! That's right! Exactly! Natmay threw herself into Tom's arms and wept bitterly. This is exactly what she has been worried about, if the wizard continues to be decadent, maybe the wizarding world in the future will be all mudblooded wizards, and there will never be a pure-blooded wizard again, will there be any meaning in the wizarding world like that?
"Natme! Natme! Tom hugged her tightly, "Only you understand me, only you support me." β
They hugged each other like there were only two of them in this world.
Natmay falls in love with Tom. She believed that he understood her mind, but she did not say it, and he did not ask her. Only occasionally, where she couldn't see, he secretly called her name, bitter and sad.
"Natme...... Natme ......! β
How she wanted to pounce on him, into his arms, and tell him how much she loved him!
But she couldn't. She couldn't be by his side with such an old look. She wants all the people to envy him. When the Fountain of Youth is made and she regains her youth, then then she will be able to accept his love.
Tom left Hogwarts and he graduated.
He refused to accept her funding, saying that he would earn money on his own.
She was both moved and distressed. Watch him go to work as a clerk in a nasty dark magic shop. She knew that it was a good place to exchange pocket money for those rich young masters. Rather than a black magic shop, she preferred to say it was a place to collect rags. There was everything there, not a bit of taste.
Her Tom could only work in that kind of place.
How worried she was for him, how unworthy she was, and how proud she was of him.
She always thought she was the only person he trusted, and the affection between them was so obvious. But one day, he told her in all seriousness that he would marry a Muggle woman in order to gain trust with the fallen wizards who were close to Muggles.
"No!! No!! How can you betray me like this?! β
Natme begged him to give up the idea.
"My heart will break! Tom, don't do that, please! β
But he looked at her coldly, gently stroked her face and said, "You'll understand, right?" Natme. β
She was already accustomed to listening to him, and nodded in a daze.
He looked at her with satisfaction, helped her up, and sat her down on the couch.
He said to her, "Natme, you have been supporting me. I've always believed in you. I believe that you are the only one in this world who knows me best, and you are the person I trust the most. You're not going to disappoint me, and you'll understand why I'm doing this, right? β
ββ¦β¦ Yes. She said like a geist.
"Good." Then, he was gone.
"I assure you that there will be no repercussions between us." He said so to her, and she believed it. After that, everything was as before. Tom was more of a stay by her side, none of his plans avoided her, she knew everything about him. And the Muggle woman, who only lived alone in a small valley, Tom only visited her once in a few months. She came to believe him.
- Yes, just like Tom said. There will be no impact between them.
Then suddenly one day, Tom told her that he had dealt with the Muggle woman.
He looked at her tenderly and said, "You'll never have to think of her again, because she's no longer a problem." β
She was moved to lean into his arms, and he hugged her tenderly and said, "You should believe me." β
Yes. She'll believe him.
He looked her in the eye and said, "Never doubt me again." β
A week after he said this, Tom disappeared.
She couldn't find him!! No matter where she was, she couldn't find him!! That's impossible! There's no way Tom can abandon her! He won't leave her!
It was then that she saw the Muggle newspaper with an obituary:
Tom Marvolo Riddle, died on January 13, 1956. As a reminder to family and friends, the funeral will be held on January 25, 1956 at Ponyville Church. β
- This is absolutely impossible!!
Natmay went, and she saw some wizards, whom she had seen in Tom's photo album, all of whom were his classmates at Hogwarts. She also saw a lot of Muggles, and she even heard the men say that Tom should have gone to hell a long time ago.
She will curse them!! She had to do it!! But before that, she wanted to curse the Muggle woman in black!!
Tom had mentioned her, but Tom had said she was gone. She thought the Muggle woman was dead!
Why?! Why is it now that she is presiding over Tom's funeral as a widow?!
She looked at her, almost hoping that she would be burned in her gaze!!
Late at night, after everyone was gone, she sneaked into her house and stood in front of her bed.
There's not a hint of Tom here. This calmed her anger a little.
She woke her up with a scorpion stinging charm.
"Tell me!! Why do you say Tom is dead?! β
The Muggle woman gave her a surprised look, then said nothing, not even screaming or panicking. She put on her dressing gown and said to her, "...... Because I can't feel my master, where he is. β
