Beiting Metropolitan Protectorate: It is a large metropolitan palace added by Wu Zetian, the empress of Wu Zhou, in 702 (the second year of Chang'an). Administers the Western Turkic homeland, i.e., a vast area north of the Tien Shan Mountains, including the Altai Mountains and west of Lake Balkhash. The two major protectorates of Anxi and Beiting were the highest administrative and military institutions set up in the Western Regions by the Tang Dynasty and the Wuzhou Dynasty, and they practiced effective management! History shows that the areas administered by these two metropolitan protectorates are Chinese territory! This is much bigger than the Ryukyus, the Diaoyu Islands, the South China Sea, etc., which are now being debated!
The government was set up in Tingzhou (present-day Beiting Township, Jimusar, Xinjiang, China).
The Duhufu (大都保府) was the highest leadership body (followed by the Governor's Office) stationed in the area by the Tang Dynasty and the Wuzhou Dynasty, and implemented the dualization policy on behalf of the central government: in areas where the Han people lived intensively, the same system of land equalization, the military system, the regulation of rents and the administration of the government were implemented as in the interior; As for areas where ethnic minorities live in concentrated concentrations, the central government does not appoint officials from other places, and allows local chiefs or chiefs to hold the highest positions such as "governors" and "assassins", and they can be hereditary! Implement a high degree of autonomy! Therefore, such a state is different from the state in the hinterland, and it is called a state of bondage. "Bondage", "Historical Records, Sima Xiangru Biography, Suo Yin" said: "Bondage, Ma Luotou also; Cowworms, too. By extension, it is both encompassing and controlling.
The Metropolitan Protectorate (大都保府) does not directly manage the internal affairs of the prefecture, but focuses on strengthening military functions, consolidating the foundation and security, and making ethnic minorities "afraid of prestige and favor" and "oriented"!
By 733 (the twenty-first year of Kaiyuan), the world was divided into 15 provinces (on the eve of the fall of the Tang Dynasty, there were more than 40 provinces and feudal towns), that is, Sannan Province and Gangnam Province were divided into East and West Provinces, and Gyeonggi Province centered on the Kyoto area, and Togi Province and Gyeonjung-do Province centered on the Pedo area were added.
