Episode 5

When Turner pushed open the glass door of the corner tavern, the smell of hot milk and dried bean cakes wafted through the street. Turner sideways www.biquge.info dodge a drunken man who was thrown at the door from the inside, and the red-faced guy flew between the crack in the door and Turner and fell into the street outside. The drinkers in the room seemed to be comical about the scene, and they burst into laughter. Turner ignored this, he glanced left and right, and walked quietly to the seat inside, under the gaze of everyone. The other drinkers stared at him for a few seconds, then slowly looked away.

Turner discovered the tavern on his way to the city, located on a busy street in the heart of the city. The proprietor is a flamboyant thirty-year-old woman who has been taken captive here since she was nineteen years old and has spent her first three years in shame and nightmares. When Budar ordered the woman to be released, she was placed in the city along with the other women. Unlike other women who are confused and still have fantasies, she knows what she wants from the beginning and how to achieve it. After some careful design, she became the concubine of a bandit. The nightmare of yesteryear is now a protector, and the mark of shame of the past is now a medal of protection. No one knew what was behind this woman's smiling face, and the drinkers who came here thought she was realistic and forbearing, but few knew that she had two children.

Turner didn't know anything about the boss's past, but that didn't stop him from seeing people. When the woman behind the counter swayed towards him, he quickly realized that it was a scheming woman. The woman thanked him for the wonderful timing of his entry into the tavern, which saved her the expense of replacing the new glass door. As a token of appreciation, she personally ordered for Turner and offered to have the guy deliver a good bottle of wine. Turner declined the woman's kindness, and now drinking was hindering his actions. Instead, he asked the hostess to prepare some hot meals for him to ward off the fatigue of the journey. The proprietress accepted his request with a smile, and she paced away amid the noise of the rest of the drinkers. The men loudly offered to distribute the wine that had been intended for Turner, and their request was met, and in a moment a glass full of fine wine appeared on everyone's table.

Turner swept away the food served to the praise of the hostess from the surrounding drinkers, and after placing a few copper plates on the table, he got up and left the tavern.

One meal wasn't enough to wipe out the discomfort that had been building up in Turner's stomach for days, but it somewhat soothed the pain in his body. After coming out of the tavern, Turner crossed the streets to the heart of the city of Boudal. There is a three-storey stone building.

According to the design of the general city, it was supposed to be a government and a council chamber. But the city of Budar clearly did not need these functions, and the building became a place of residence and a center for drinking and merrymaking for Boudal and his subordinates. Behind the stone tower are several wide courtyards that are divided, in which nearly a thousand bandits live. Together, they are enclosed in a two-metre-high wall.

This is the "inner city", and no one is allowed to enter except for bandits. Every once in a while, Turner led his minions out of the city on horseback, returning laden with goods and captives, which the inhabitants of Budar called "hunting." On the days when Budar went out "hunting", the bandits would ring the bells in advance, the women and children would huddle in their houses all day, and only the daring fanatics would gather around the streets to whistle and cheer at the bandits who were "on their way" and "returning from the hunt".

The last "hunt" took place five days ago. After that sudden disaster, Turner lost his master. As for Miss Audrey, Turner saw a group of bandits surrounding her carriage as she broke out.

The cells where the prisoners were held were built in the innermost part of the "inner city", and a dozen bandits were guarded outside. This was not to defend against outsiders - the bandits did not believe that anyone could pass through the heavily guarded checkpoints to rescue the captives - but to guard against other bandits in the inner city. Most of them are simple-minded, short-sighted and hedonistic. When no one was guarding, it was not uncommon for young women in captivity to die inexplicably in prison.

Turner wasn't going to break into the cell alone. Such a rash move can only be futile - even if you manage to slip through barriers and avoid the sight of the guards and make it into the cell, the labyrinthine twists and turns of the prison are enough to make you lose your sense of direction. What's more, there are hundreds of captives held here, and finding a target in the dark environment of the dungeon will never be easier than facing thousands of bandits to break through.

Turner's plan was simple, bold, and even unconscionable. But this is really the only action he can take.

- He will assassinate Boudar in full view of all.

It is said that it is an assassination, but in fact, it is to try to send the poison from the "Eighth Master" into Boudal's mouth, and how to operate it can only be done at the opportunity.

The poison in his hand lasted for three days, and as long as the assassination was successful, Turner could use the antidote as a bargaining chip to demand the release of Miss Audella, and three days was enough time for the other captured guards to take Audella out of the grassland. But of course, things will not go as smoothly as imagined, and Boudal may also have doubts about the antidote. When that time comes, in order to win the trust of Boudal, Turner himself will take poison.

There are not many people at the entrance of the "inner city", and most people do not approach it to avoid suspicion. In order not to be conspicuous, Turner silently observed the flow of people nearby.

The time of the action is at night. On days when there were no "hunting" days, Budar and his men would party in the halls of the stone building all day. Turner had planned for noon, but now he had changed his mind. Although I don't understand what kind of consideration the "Eighth Master" suggestion is based on, he always has more thorough considerations than outsiders.

After half an hour of observation, Turner had a rough outline of the plan in his mind. He turned to return to the tavern, and with six hours left before the evening, he had plenty of time to rest.

For a moment, Turner's mind flashed back to the time he had spent resting in the dungeon camp with his friends during his adventure, but he quickly adjusted his mind, and the extra memories were useless for the next action.

"Huh?"

A familiar figure ran past Turner's field of vision, and Turner recognized him as the teenager snatching his package from the pharmacy door. The boy was sweating profusely and running into the alley next to him, and Turner saw that he still had a weapon in his hand. In the light of the sun, Turner caught a glimpse of red on the snow-white reflection.

The boy's figure quickly disappeared into the alley, but Turner still stood there watching where he had disappeared. The sun moved a little above him, and Turner suddenly realized that the whole world was blinding white.

"By the way, I'm going to have to find another weapon." After a while, he muttered like a dream, turned and left the place.
