(1) Features

Characteristics of Taoist mantras: Mantras are not a phenomenon unique to Taoism, and other religions such as Buddhism also use mantras, especially Tantra, which is known for chanting mantras (dharani). Spells originated from the worship of the magic of language by the ancestors of primitive religions, and later became a central component of witchcraft. Taoism inherited and developed the spells of witchcraft, while absorbing some Buddhist mantras, but in general Taoist mantras have their own characteristics.

Taoist mantras often use "such as the law", "urgent as the law", and "Taishang Laojun is as urgent as the law". This is because Taoism flourished in the Han Dynasty, and there was a lot of the phrase "such as a law" in the edicts and inscriptions of the Han Dynasty. "As by law" means to enforce the law. There is a sense of violating the law in the tone. This official cliché of stating the authority of laws and decrees was first absorbed by folk shamans. The sorcerers of the Eastern Han Dynasty held the "tomb door lifting" (that is, in the funeral to the tomb of the town. so that people and ghosts are separated, and ghosts do not harm the living). The end ends with "as decreed". The simple sentence structure of the dissolution text is: "A hundred explanations go, such as a law!" Such mantras were absorbed by Taoism, but also produced certain declensions, mainly the embedding of god names. The most common ones are "Taishang Laojun is as anxious as the law", "Anxious as the Taishang Laojun's law"; Some also add the words "take", "edict", "disease" and so on after it to indicate that there must be no mistake in the execution of the mantra in a hurry. Here are a few examples.

In summoning the divine soldiers to collect demons and break the evil, there is a flag opening spell: "Five thunder generals, train generals, soar to the sky, drive thunder and clouds, and fight tens of millions." Command the divine soldiers, open the flag and summon urgently, and must not stop. Haste as a law! This mantra first refers to the Divine General of the Thunder Division, and also speaks of his divine martial arts, and at the same time explains where their function lies, and then explains that the flag is opened (the flag of the summoning general) summons them to come, and makes them come immediately without delay. Finally, it ends with "haste as law".

This fixed form of Taoist mantras is a clear feature that distinguishes it from the Buddhist mantras that are mainly based on chanting the Buddha's name.

This structure of the Taoist mantra first indicates that it is divinely bestowed, and thus also miraculous. Called Taishang Laojun, called Shenxiao Jade Halal King, called Heavenly Master. They all directly say the name of the god to summon the gods and suppress the demons. For the lower level of the gods, who are exclusively for mages, they are called by their first names to show that they have the ability to control them. Hence the practice of Taoist mantras. It is closely linked to the entire lineage of the immortals, which expresses their beliefs and also reflects the way they practice their beliefs. But the name of the gods. It's not a phenomenon peculiar to mantras, or even a phenomenon peculiar to mantras. Christians always say "in the name of Jesus Christ" after prayer. It is an expression of strong trust and reverence for God. Therefore, the name of the god in the mantra is quoted. It shows that many religions have a common belief in and dependence on gods, but their respective gods have different faces. It is the next aspect that better expresses the characteristics of the mantra itself: it indicates that the mantra is a command to the object of the invocation. And "such as the law" is not only to urge, but also to emphasize that the order must be carried out, and if it is not carried out, it will be punished according to the law. The content of the mantras is straightforward and clear about the purpose of the order, which is a strong utilitarian characteristic, which is the characteristic of traditional Chinese culture in Taoist mantras. There is a considerable gap between the devout conversion to the gods in Western societies and the Indians. For example, the "Mantra of the Lord Night" from India: "Po Shi plays Bodi", it is said that it can ward off evil spirits when reciting it at night. But the words are actually a transliteration of the god of the night that the Indians worshipped. The important mantra of Buddhism, "Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes Guanyin Bodhisattva Dzogchen Unhindered Great Compassion Dharani", is the more familiar Great Compassion Mantra of the people, with a total of 84 sentences, each of which expresses the meaning of refuge and respect for Guanyin, and 83 sentences are the names of the Bodhisattva (including various disguises of Guanyin). This mantra is considered by Buddhists to be extremely powerful and widely used, and the "Great Compassion Dharani" records in detail how it was used to cure diseases, induce labor, detoxify poison, dispel snakes and scorpions, and so on. Functionally, Buddhist mantras and Taoist mantras have many similarities or similarities, but they are very different in terms of structure. The characteristic of the Great Compassion Mantra is that it is to ask people to take refuge first, and if they take refuge, as soon as they recite it, Guanyin can help solve all kinds of evil difficulties, until they lead him to the Western Paradise, and the recitation of the mantra itself is refuge. The mantra is to directly drive the ghosts and gods, make them go away or accomplish things that mortals cannot accomplish or even incredible, the actual purpose is the premise, and the worship of the gods is centered on the immediate interests of the moment. This characteristic of Taoist mantras stipulates that the scope of application of each mantra is relatively narrow, so the Taoist mantras have their own specific and extremely large number.

(2) Luo Tian Dajiao

The origin of Luo Tian Da Jiao: Luo Tian Da Jiao is the name of a large-scale comprehensive Taoist ritual. Luo Tian, that is, the Great Luo Tian, Taoism refers to the extremely high places above the three realms of heaven. "Supreme Secrets" called the heavens "above the Three Realms, the misty Daluo", in the name of Luo Tianzhi Jiao, is extremely said that the number of people invited to descend to the gods, the high taste, as well as the long Jiao time, the scale, the wide range of Jiao purposes, the number of Taoist priests and sacrifices and sacrifices involved in the Jiao ceremony is large. Jiao originally meant a ritual. Song Yu's "Gao Tang Fu" cloud "Pray for the Palace, Jiao Gods, Rite Taiyi", Jiao God is the meaning of sacrificing to the gods. Between the two Jin Dynasty, Jiao and Zhai are opposed, and the "Taishang Dongyuan Divine Mantra" says that "Jiao is set up in Jiao." not according to the examination of scientific instruments". After the Tang Dynasty, Zhai and Jiao were more commonly used. To refer to Taoist rituals. Therefore, Jiao is a Taoist name for its worship rituals. "Supreme Yellow Jar Lent Licheng Yi" said. After the Ming Dynasty, the Taoist and folk mostly replaced the fasting with Jiao, and the name of Luo Tian Jiao became popular.

Content and its characteristics

The content and characteristics of Luo Tian Da Jiao: The orthodox "Daozang" of the Ming Dynasty contains the scientific ritual documents named after Luo Tian Da Jiao, including "Luo Tian Da Jiao Set Jiao Ceremony", "Luo Tian Da Jiao Three Dynasty Instruments", "Taishang Cave Xuanling Bao Tianzun Says Luo Tian Da Jiao Shangpin Miao Sutra" and so on. According to the "Luo Tian Da Jiao Set Jiao Ceremony", the "Three Qing Supreme, the Ten Directions of the Saints, the Yujing Jinque Heavenly Emperor Innocence, the Ten Directions of the Master of the Ten Directions, the Three Realms of Officials, all the mighty spirits" and so on all the gods in heaven and earth. The purpose of the ritual is to give thanks for the peace of the country and the people, to confess sins, to pray for longevity and prolongation, to recommend ancestors, and so on. The scale of Luo Tian Dajiao is relatively large and the time is also long. Generally, it is held for three days, five days, seven days, etc., and the rituals performed are different every day, so the content is very rich. Luo Tian Da Jiao was also called Zhou Tian Da Jiao or Putian Da Jiao in the Song Dynasty. According to the "Daomen Custom", the gods enshrined in the Song Dynasty were "2,400 percentiles", and the gods were "3,600 percentiles" in the Putian Da Jiao. These two kinds of Jiao are only "cultivated by the imperial court, or allowed by ministers for the country, and not allowed by the common people". Taoism in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province often holds Taiping Jiao and Pray for Peace, according to its content, it is the Luo Tian Da Jiao held by the local people themselves invited by Taoist priests.

2. Stamping

The seal is formed by holding the ten fingers of the two hands together to form different shapes. and with the practice of imagining the formation of ideas. There are thousands of types of tantric mudras, each of which has a special meaning and function, such as: auspicious seal, vajra great favor seal, big wheel altar seal, subjugation of demons seal, crown holding treasure seal, light and flame realm seal, immortal seal such as binding thoughts, quasi-nine-headed dragon seal, etc., although some mudras have the same name. But the shape of the fruit is very different. For example, the Vajra armor seal is a kind of demonic body protector (for example, when you want to become an armor with a Ming seal, you will be full of light and flames on yourself, and disgusting demons will scatter and gallop away). The nine seals of the ninja are: Exclusive Seal, Dajin Wheel Seal, Outer Lion Seal, Inner Lion Seal, Outer Binding Seal, Inner Binding Seal, Knowledge Seal Seal, Sun Wheel Seal and Invisible Seal.

1. Main connotation

The "Three Tantric Blessings" are an important part of tantric practice. Including the body secret - the hand seal deed. Secret language - oral chanting of mantras and secret meaning - contemplation of the Buddha.

2. Practice methods

In terms of the practice of tantric mantras, it is the use of a special kind of musical note. Shake the internal qi veins of the body so that it can radiate the potential of life. It becomes a transcendent phenomenon and enters the realm of the mysterious, which can even enlighten supernatural powers and a high degree of wisdom. Therefore, in the three tantric teachings of the Eastern Tantra, such as Vajra, Tibet, and Lotus, each has different mantras, so that the practitioner can achieve different results for different purposes. From this point of view, the greatest focus of tantric mantra phonetic tantra is the relationship between sound and human qi, which is purely a mystical effect that transcends physics.

3. Body secret

1. Hand seal deed

The main practice of body secrets is the "mudra". To put it simply, it is a practice in which the ten fingers of the two hands intersect* to form different shapes and form them with the formation of imaginary thoughts. There are thousands of types of tantric mudras, each of which has a special meaning and function, such as: auspicious seal, vajra great favor seal, big wheel altar seal, subjugation of demons seal, crown holding treasure seal, light and flame world seal, binding thoughts and other immortal seals, quasi-nine-headed dragon seals, etc., although some mudras have the same name, but the shape of their shapes is very different.

For the Eastern Esoteric Method, through the ten fingers of the two hands of the human body, combined with the idea of mental imagination, in line with a certain practice, and forming different "mudras" with each other, the effect of blessing the person who practices the tantric method can be produced. Tantric theory holds that the ten fingers of both hands are connected to the Buddha-nature of the Dharma Realm externally and to the five internal organs and six internal organs internally, so when practicing Tantra, when forming a "mudra", you can inspire each other with the body and secret of inviting Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who have already been achieved in the Dharma Realm, increasing the effect of immediacy, and it is as if you have obtained the Buddha's supernatural powers.

2. Various sitting postures

In addition to the mudra, there are various postures for the body, and it is as diverse and meaningful as the mudra, and the "auspicious sitting" and "demon sitting" in the full posture sitting are two types that ninjas often practice. Ninjas often have to cooperate with the "incense" in the Five Paths of Ninja (described in more detail in later chapters) to carry out spiritual intensive cultivation of auspicious sitting and demon subjugation sitting.

3. Language density

Secret language, also known as mantra, is a process in which a practitioner recites a series of mantras to create something in their minds and cause them to change, using this special note to vibrate the qi in the body, focusing the mind on one point to form extraordinary potential, and inspiring supernatural powers and a high degree of wisdom. The number of mantras in Tantra is as varied as Mudras, such as: Fire Heaven Mantra, Yama King Mantra, Four Heavenly Kings Mantra, Golden-winged Bird King Mantra, Rakshasa Mantra, Rakshasa King Mantra, Blessing Mantra, Samaya Mantra, Fudozun Mantra, Vajra Armor Mantra, etc., as well as the Five-Character Mantra, Tibetan Tantric Six-Character Mantra (very famous six characters in China, don't tell me you don't know!). ), Manjushri eight-character mantra.

The ninja chanting "Before, Soldier, Fight, Fight, All, Array, Lie, Presence, Front" is the mantra of the Nine Meetings in the Eastern Secret. Most of the Eastern Mi mantras are pronounced according to the combination of sounds and rhymes of the Sanskrit alphabet of ancient India. However, the mantras that come out of the Koyado Dongmi Avenue in Japan have largely become Sanskrit with Japanese accents. Now it is a very complicated matter to study the pronunciation of tantric mantras in detail. However, unlike the Tibetan secret six-character mantra derived from ancient Indian Sanskrit, the nine characters of "Lin, Bing, Fight, Zhe, Both, Array, Lie, Zai, and Qian" originated from the Taoist classic "Hug Puzi" in the Eastern Jin Dynasty of China. Everyone knows that "Hug Puzi" is a Taoist classic, which is divided into two parts: the inner part and the outer part. The inner part mainly introduces the Taoist Dan method, forbidden art and health preservation, and the outer part is related to military strategy and political theory. The nine-character mantra comes from "Hug Puzi. Inside. Ascending.

4. Secret

Mind and Mind are the most important part of the "Three Secret Blessings", and in the whole process of Tantric practice, both body and speech must be based on * Mind Secret in order to play a role. Through "visualization", the mind initiates the potential of consciousness and achieves a transcendent state outside the object. As I said earlier, the nine-character mantra of ninjutsu is a self-hypnotic secret technique, just as in modern magic shows, a magician hypnotizes an assistant and says, "You are a stick", even if someone stands on the assistant's suspended body, he does not know it. Yimi used the process of chanting the mantra with mudra to concentrate his mind and paralyze himself, and he made the ninja's whole body boil with blood and become so excited that he could temporarily forget the pain during the battle, and completely became a killing machine running at full power. (To be continued.) )
