2. Hercules' battle with the giants
Hercules was grateful for the precious gifts of the gods. Soon, he found an opportunity to repay the reward. It turned out that Gaia, the goddess of the earth, had given birth to a group of giants for the god Ouranos, and these monsters had hideous faces, long beards, long hair, and a scaly dragon's tail behind them, which became their feet. Mother instigated them to oppose Zeus, who became the new ruler of the world, and sent all of Gaia's former sons, the Titans, to Tartarus in Hell. A few years later, they broke through hell and emerged in the fields of Thessaly. As soon as he saw them, the stars changed color, and even Apollo turned in the direction of the solar car.
The giants climbed up the mountain ladder to the dwelling place of the gods, and in their hands they slammed into Olympus like a storm with flaming oak sticks and huge stones. The gods were given an oracle that without a single mortal in battle, the gods could not kill the invading giants. When Gaia heard this, he hurried to find a way. to ensure that their sons are not harmed by mortals. This requires a medicinal herb. Zeus, however, was one step ahead. He does not let the morning glow, the moon and the sun shine. While Gaia searched everywhere in the darkness for herbs, Zeus harvested them. He asked Athena to give the herb to his son Hercules. and asked him to come to war......
At the end of the battle, the gods praised Hercules for his great achievements. Zeus called the gods who went to war Olympians, the title of the brave. The two sons born to Zeus, Dionysus and Hercules, also received this glorious title.
3. Hercules and Eurystheus
Hercules and EurystheusBefore Hercules was born, Zeus had announced at a council of gods that the first grandson of Perseus would rule over all the other descendants of Perseus. He wanted to give the honor to one of the sons born to him and Alcmene. Hera, however, was jealous of the fact that this glory was owed to her rival, so she tricked herself into giving birth to Eurystheus, another grandson of Perseus. He was supposed to be born later than Hercules. Thus, Eurystheus became King of McKenny, and Hercules, who was born later, became his subject.
The king, noticing the great fame of his young brother, summoned him as if he were a subject, and gave him a great deal of difficult tasks. Hercules was unwilling to obey. But Zeus was unwilling to disobey his rules, so he ordered his son to carry out the king's orders.
Unwilling to be a slave to mortals, this demigod, half-human hero left his home and came to Delphi to ask for an oracle. The oracle revealed that Eurystheus had taken the throne by deceitful Hera, and that the gods would correct it. But Hercules had to complete the twelve tasks given to him by the king. When these tasks are completed, he can be elevated to the status of God.
When Hercules heard this oracle, his heart was depressed and he fell into deep sorrow. Serve someone who is lower than him. It really undermines his dignity and lowers his identity. But he did not dare to disobey the will of his father Zeus.
Hera still hated Hercules, even though he had aided the gods in his battle with the giants. She took the opportunity to turn the depression in Hercules' heart into a wild rage. Hercules couldn't control himself. He even wanted to kill his cherished nephew, Iolaus. The nephew was taken aback and hurriedly fled. Hercules shot the children he and Megara had with arrows in a rage. And imagine that he is shooting giants with arrows. He went crazy for a long time before he could get out. He saw himself in a great calamity, plunged into deeper sorrow and misfortune. He closed the door. No one is in sight. As time passed, the pain in his heart lessened. He regained his strength, determined to complete the task given to him by Eurystheus. (12 tasks mentioned below)
After all kinds of hard work and efforts, Hercules overcame countless difficulties and obstacles, completed the task assigned by King Eurystheus, and finally no longer had to be enslaved by him, and returned to Thebes.
4. Twelve great achievements
(1) Strangling a fierce lion
The fierce lion of the Nemean forest that strangles the iron bones. The king's first task to Hercules was that Hercules had to skin the great lion of Nemia for him. This giant beast lives in the great forest between the Peloponnese, Nimia and Crevona in the Argolis region. The lion is so fierce that human weapons can't hurt it at all. Some say that the lion was the son of the giant Typhon and the half-human, half-serpent monster Eucadna, while others say that it fell from the moon to the earth. Hercules set out to hunt lions. And ended up killing it. Cutting through the skin with its claws, it finally peeled the lion's skin off. Later, he sewed a piece of armor from this bizarre lion skin and also made a new helmet. Now he packed up the lion skin and weapon he had brought, draped the lion skin of the great lion of Nemia over his shoulders, and set out for Tyrins.
(2) Subdue the monster Xudra
Xudra is a large venomous snake with nine heads, and it haunts the grass and harms everywhere. What's even more terrifying is that the largest of its heads is unkillable, and if it is cut off, two new heads will be born.
Hercules did not believe in evil, and he came to the door. Shdra was much smarter than the lion, and he held his head high and waited for Hercules' attack. Hercules stepped forward and slashed off the head of the largest snake. To his great surprise, two new heads immediately grew on the snake's neck, and the ten heads were wobbly and creepy. While Hercules was thinking hard about what to do, a large crab that was in cahoots with Xudra crept over and bit Hercules' feet tightly with two large claws. Hercules turned around and struck the cancer with a slam blow from the tree.
After killing the Cancer, he called out to his fellow Iolas to help him, and Iolaus held the torch and set the nearby woods on fire, then burned the newly grown snake's head with a burning branch to prevent it from growing. At this time, Hercules took the opportunity to cut off the immortal head of Xudra and buried it by the side of the road, with a heavy stone pressed on it. Then he split the serpent's body into two pieces and soaked the arrow in the poisonous snake's blood. From then on, there was no cure for the enemy who had been shot by his arrow.
(2) Capture the red buck alive
Capture alive the golden-horned copper-hoofed red stag in the mountains of Clunia (Hercules accidentally killed it).
The third task was for him to capture alive the deer on Mount Kermanea. It is a beautiful animal, with golden horns and copper hooves, living freely on the slopes of Arcadia, one of the five deer caught by the goddess Artemis on her first hunt, and only she was released back into the woods, because the goddess of fate had decreed that one day Hercules would be exhausted from pursuing her. Hercules pursued her for a whole year, all the way to the place where the Arctic Pure Land people lived and the source of the Iste River. It is said that the sun only comes out once a year. Hercules finally caught up with the deer near the city of Anoël, on the banks of the Latón River near Mount Artemis. To force her to stop, he was forced to shoot an arrow that hit her in the leg. Then he grabbed the injured deer and couldn't run, carried it on his shoulder, and walked back. On the way, he meets the goddess Artemis and her brother Apollo. She asks him why he hurt the deer she released, and even wants to take her prey.
"Great goddess, this is not my joke," Hercules defended, "and I am forced to do so, otherwise how could I have fulfilled the task given to me by Eurystheus?" ”
These words finally calmed the wrath of the goddess. Hercules returned to McKenny with a live deer on his shoulder. (To be continued.) )
