Chapter Forty-Eight: What Is a Master? What is a Grandmaster?
Chapter 48: What is a Master? What is a Grandmaster?
The last rays of the sunset disappeared into the sky, the crescent moon was like a hook, jumping up to the spire, and Ren Shan slowly opened his eyes. Pen | fun | pavilion www. ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ γ infoIn addition to the sunset and moonrise and the brilliant starlight, the day that came into view was still the sky, the tower was still a tower, the tree was still a tree, and the chirping of the summer insects was as noisy as ever. But everything is different from the past, as if this side of the world has been projected into Ren Shan's heart. A wisp of breeze slid through the sky, without a trace, but it shook countless branches and leaves; A drop of dew rolled down from the tip of the leaf, and it was no longer possible to find it but moisturizing things silently, and Ren Shan seemed to feel it in his heart.
At this time, a figure floated behind Ren Shan, as if coming with the wind, silently, without a trace of fireworks. Ren Shan didn't look back and knew that someone was approaching, but there was a wonderful feeling, as if wherever the person came, the natural and stable atmosphere also followed.
Ren Shan looked back and saw that the person who came was actually the old monk from the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion. The old monk smiled slightly, walked straight to the stone statue of the immovable king on the stone tower, and said to Ren Shan: "The donor must have something to ask the old monk, right?"
In a moment's thought, many questions came to mind. Who is this old monk? How did he know he was in Tallinn? Who wrote the book to himself? Why did he give it to himself? How did he know the mysteries of the Scriptures?γγγγγγ There were too many questions, and Ren Shan didn't know where to start for a while.
The old monk didn't wait for Ren Shan to answer, and then said: "If the donor is fine, why don't you talk to the old monk first?" β
Ren Shan said: "The master is good, dare not obey his fate." β
When the old monk heard this, he pointed to the stone steps on the side and said, "Take this as a chair and sit down to talk", but he sat down first.
And so, another beautiful scene appeared. The moonlight is like water, the breeze is blowing, and in the sound of heaven, two people sit side by side on the stone stepsγγγγγγ Of course, it was an older old monk, and the young man was still the same young man in the morningγγγγγγ
The old monk waited for Ren Shan to sit down, but said: "Does the donor know what is a master in the martial arts?" β
Ren Shan didn't expect the old monk to ask this question, and thought for a while: "Naturally, people with few opponents are masters." β
The old monk smiled again and asked, "How many people can be considered less?" β
Ren Shan thought about it, but couldn't answer. This may seem like a simple question, but there is no answer at all.
Seeing that Ren Shan didn't answer, the old monk continued: "I'm afraid that no one will say this number." If you say that the invincible person among a thousand people is a master, then the second person will definitely not be convinced. You say that it is the third person, and the fourth person is afraid and will not accept it. If you say that it is the first 100 people, then the first and second people will not agree. β
Ren Shan said: "Exactly, this is really hard to say." β
The old monk said: "However, in the martial arts, someone is a master, someone is not a master, but most of them still have a consensus. β
Ren Shan said: "This is also true. For example, if you are a master of the Changle Gang, you can pull a gang out at random, and the name is estimated to be similar. He said, "That's true." β
The old monk said again: "I don't know if the donor has noticed that although ordinary people in the martial arts have strength and weakness, their strength and weakness are not worlds apart. For example, among ordinary people, there are not many people who are one against three and one against four. But there are others, who, with the strength of one man, can overwhelm dozens or even a hundred and ten. And these people, no matter how hard ordinary people practice, they can't be as good as one or two. Does the donor know why? β
The old monk's words were really a bit surprising, but Ren Shan understood it. is a little bit stronger than ordinary people, which can only be regarded as a quantitative change, not a master. But if it is ten times stronger than a hundred times, it is a qualitative change, and it is naturally a master. But what is the qualitative change? The old monk didn't say anything. Ren Shan then asked: "May I ask the master, how much stronger is it than ordinary people, and then it can be regarded as a master?" β
The old monk said: "The so-called master of ordinary people is not just how many times stronger than ordinary martial arts. Ordinary people are so-called masters, but they think that he is a master in their hearts, so high that they can't reach him no matter what. For example, most people, no matter how hard they try, will not be better than you. Therefore, in the eyes of ordinary people, the donor is a master. Or there are people, and the strength is two people. But ordinary people often exercise, and they can also multiply their strength, so this person is not a master in the eyes of ordinary people. β
Ren Shan thought about it for a while, and agreed that what the old monk said was very reasonable. In the Changle Gang, who is the master and who is not, everyone's views are not much different. And in the eyes of everyone, the masters do have one thing in common, that is, ordinary people, no matter how hard they work, it is impossible to reach the level of these people.
The old monk asked again, "Can the benefactor understand why this is the case?" β
Ren Shan said: "Presumably, some people practice martial arts and techniques that are clever, and ordinary people rarely have the opportunity to obtain these exercises. β
The old monk sighed slightly and said: "Common sense is true, but there are also people who practice ordinary folk exercises, and they can actually dominate the rivers and lakes for many years." Speaking of this, the old monk paused slightly, but then turned back to the topic and said: "Then the donor can see why some exercises are easy to create masters?" And the others don't? β
Ren Shan thought about it, but he didn't know how to answer, so he simply didn't use his brain, and said, "Please teach the master." β
The old monk smiled when he heard this: "The donor's understanding is so high, the old monk is also one of the best among the people he has seen, and the donor must have realized it in his heart." Then he said, "Does the donor know the meaning of the word "martial arts"? How can Wu be praised? β
Ren Shan thought of what Void said on the carriage here, and said: "Tao is the law, and martial arts must be the law of martial arts." β
The old monk said: "What the donor said is very true, but it is still a little incomplete. Although the word Tao is a Taoist cloud, my Buddhism also has a reference. The Tao is the principle of heaven and earth. Everything has its own way, but it has to conform to the way of heaven. The skin of man also has its own way. What people do, they have to fit the way of the skin. It is like a human face, which can only be forward, but not backward. However, although the skin originates from heaven and earth, human habits are often contrary to heaven, so the way of skin is not in line with the way of heaven. β
"Wu is a method of driving the skin that was realized by the ancestors in the fight. There are advantages and disadvantages to this method, some can make the most of the power of the skin, and some cannot. β
Speaking of this, Ren Shan was enlightened and said: "Presumably, those methods that conform to the way of heaven and earth are the world's most intelligent martial arts, and others are ordinary exercises." β
The old monk turned his head at this time, looked at Ren Shan and said, "Then why can some people become masters with the same exercises, but some people can't?" β
Ren Shan said: "Naturally, some people have practiced, and some people have not." β
The old monk didn't talk about this question anymore, but picked up a piece of gravel beside him, drew a few random pictures on the steps, and said, "Donor, please see, I can easily draw traces on this stone step with the sharp corners of this stone." With this rounded corner, it is not very easy to draw. β
Ren Shan didn't understand what he meant, so he didn't speak, just waiting for the old monk to explain.
Sure enough, the old monk pointed to the sharp horn and said: "This clever exercise is to teach people to use this sharp horn to depict." However, if the man could not find the sharp horn, he would not use it even if he told him to use it. After that, he said to Ren Shan: "Can the donor understand what a master is now?" β
Ren Shan said: "I understand a little." A person who can discover the strengths of his body and make full use of them can be regarded as a master. β
The old monk nodded and said, "What the donor said is very true. Those who can make the most of the strength of the skin can be regarded as masters. β
When Ren Shan heard this, he also realized in his heart. Some martial arts are strong and violent, and those with strong muscles and bones can exert their strengths; And those who have martial arts are light and elegant, but they can give full play to the advantages of physical dexterity. He said: "Presumably, the same exercises are considered clever exercises for some people, but they may be like garbage for others." β
The old monk nodded: "This is very true. The so-called masters, however, must also have the opportunity to get suitable exercises. β
After that, the old monk continued to ask, "Does the donor know who can be called a martial arts master?" β
Ren Shan thought for a while and said: "A person who can start a sect and create his own martial arts should be regarded as a grandmaster." β
The old monk said with a smile: "Decades ago, at the foot of this Shaomu Mountain, there was a gangster in the countryside who also practiced martial arts for a few days. This man had a dream one night, and he dreamed that a god in the sky gave him a book from heaven and told him that he was the leader of the martial arts alliance. After dawn, this person recruited a group of fox friends and dog friends and established a sect called "Tianxiao School". He also created his own set of boxing techniques and passed them on to everyone. For a while, it was also very lively. β
Ren Shanqi said: "The Tianxiao Sect was established decades ago, why haven't I heard of it at all?" β
The old monk said: "Naturally, you have never heard of it. After the establishment of the Tianxiao Sect, there was no money available. The man thought of going to the house of some rich people on the side to extort some money, so he led the people to the house of a rich man. The rich man had no choice but to give him a few donkeys from his family. Unexpectedly, when the man was walking back with the donkey, a thunderstorm suddenly fell. There was a thunderclap that startled the donkey that the man was leading. This donkey turned its head and kicked it in the vital place of this person, but it kicked the founder of the Tianxiao faction to death, and the Tianxiao faction broke off its inheritance. β
The old monk looked at Ren Shan and said with a smile: "According to what the donor said, this person can also be regarded as a grandmaster?" β
The old monk said vividly, Ren Shan was overjoyed to listen to it, and just nodded and said: "Count, count, this is definitely the grandmaster, the grandmaster of the grandmaster, the grandmaster of the leapfrog."
When the old monk saw that he was a scoundrel, he didn't feel it, and then said: "This person is indeed a grandmaster, but he is not a martial arts master. After that, the old monk knocked the stone step in his hand slightly, but knocked out a sharp corner. The old monk used this sharp angle to draw a picture on the stone steps and said, "You can also draw traces on this end." β
Ren Shan realized: "Presumably, the realm of this grandmaster is like having no sharp corners, and you can make a sharp corner." β
The old monk nodded and said, "What the donor said is very true. A master only knows how to use the strengths of the skin, but he may not know why the skin has these strengths; The grandmaster, on the other hand, knows why the skin can be strong, so he uses the whole skin to the fullest. β
"Where the skin is in line with the way of heaven, it is also the strength of the skin. The method of the grandmaster is the method of cultivating the skin bag to conform to the way of heaven. It is the master who can use the Tao, but cannot know all the mysteries; And the grandmaster can not only use the Tao, but also know the mysteries, so he can conform to the way of heaven and earth by himself. β
