Chapter 537: The Red-haired Monk

Once, when Jesha was traveling with his teacher, he saw a tiger walking leisurely in the wilderness.

The master grabbed him: "Come with me, disciple, and avoid him by the god." ”

Yesher shook his hand: "Master, don't panic, the tiger has eaten enough and will not hurt anyone." ”

So the two and the tiger went their separate ways.

Going further, he saw a piece of blood stained with white bones scattered, and the master was secretly surprised, and from then on he looked at him differently.

At the age of fifteen, Yesher was able to recite 20,000 or 30,000 words a day.

But living in the temple, there is no food and clothing, and I have to go out often to make connections, so the chanting daily classes are a lot wasted.

When an arhat saw that he was clever and quick-witted, he thought that this son would become an extraordinary man in the future, so he often asked for food for him, and Yasha worked even harder.

By the age of nineteen, Yasha had recited millions of words.

However, Yasha was arrogant and thought that few people could be his teacher, so the monks around him did not value Yasha, and when he reached the age of ordination, no one came to the altar for Yasha, so he could only be a novice.

However, Jesher's graceful manners and good conversation and laughter also diluted the dissatisfaction of many others.

Yesher didn't care about this, and he learned the Five Masters with his uncle, and he was proficient in all the magic skills in the world.

It was not until he was twenty-seven years old that Jesha was ordained. After that, he concentrated on reading and couldn't put the book down.

Even sitting upright and meditating on the scriptures was seen as a waste of time.

Then Jesha went to the land of Shaal.

Just in time for the king to be unwell, he invited 3,000 monks to attend the meeting, and Yesher was one of them.

When the prince saw that he was dignified and elegant and very radiant in the crowd, he asked him where he came from.

Kumarosh came late and studied with him, and the two hit it off at first sight, and their relationship was extraordinary.

Later, Rosh wanted to return to Qiuz with his mother, but Jesher tried to persuade him to stay.

Soon the king died, and the crown prince ascended the throne, and treated him more generously.

When Fu Jian sent LΓΌ Guang to conquer Qiuzi, Bai Chun, the king of Qiuci, asked Shale for help.

King Shale personally led troops to reinforce and let Yesher assist the crown prince, which had a great sense of trust.

But before the help arrived, Guizi was defeated.

The king returned and told Yesher in detail how Rosh had been captured by LΓΌ Guang.

Yesher sighed: "Although Rosh and I have been together for a long time, but we have not been able to give up our arms, he was suddenly abducted by force, when will we see each other?"

More than ten years later, Yasha traveled east to Qiuzi to spread the Dharma on a grand scale.

Although Yesher is in a highly regarded state, every quiet night, he often misses the moon for his old people.

At that time, Rosh was in Guzang, and sent a letter to invite Yesher, who was about to leave with food, but was discovered by the Qiuzi people, and countless believers knelt on the ground to stay, so they had to live for more than a year.

One day, Yasha suddenly said to his disciples, "I'm going to go to Rosh, pack up quickly, and we'll set out at night, so that no one knows." ”

The disciple was worried: "I'm afraid that tomorrow they will catch up, and they will inevitably have to come back." ”

When Yesher said that it was all right, he took a bowl of water, put medicine on it, and gave him a curse to wash his disciples' feet.

Several people set out that night, and by dawn they had walked hundreds of miles.

Jesher asked, "How do you feel?"

The disciple said, "The wind is very urgent, and I can't stop crying in my eyes. ”

Yesher smiled. The Turtles couldn't catch up anyway.

Gu Zang is right in front of you.

Rosh has already entered Chang'an.

Jesher was slightly disappointed.

Later, when Yesha heard that Yao Xing had forced Rosh to marry a wife and take a concubine, he had broken the precepts, and sighed: "Rosh is like a good silk, how can he be in the midst of thorns?"

Rosh knew that he had arrived at Guzang and persuaded Yao Xing to accept him, but Yao Xing did not know who Yeshe was at that time and did not listen.

Soon Yao Xing asked Rosh to translate the scriptures, and Rosh deliberately said: "To promote Buddhism, the scriptures based on it cannot be without literary meaning, although I have read a lot of scriptures, but I do not have much profound attainment in Buddhism." Only the Buddha Yasha is good at the scriptures. May His Majesty summon him, so that when translating, he can think twice and again, and only then can he be sure of his pen, so that he will not be left behind, so that he can win the trust of a thousand years. ”

Yao Xing sent envoys to Guzang with rich gifts, but Yesher did not accept the gifts, and said with a smile: "As soon as the holy decree comes, you should leave quickly." The benefactor is kind to others, but if he treats me as he did to Rosh, he will not dare to obey. ”

The messenger returned to his life, and Yao Xing praised him for his cautious actions, so he sent another letter to urge.

In this way, the deceased who had been separated for many years was able to get together.

Yao Xing set up a new hall for Yesher in the Xiaoyao Garden.

Jesha took nothing from all the offerings, but ate one meal a day at a regular time.

At that time, Rosh was translating the "Ten Dwelling Sutras", and he hesitated for a month, and it was difficult to write.

When Jesher came, the two men made a decision together. The monks all praised the conciseness and appropriateness of the literature and science.

Yesher had a red beard on his mouth and was good at speaking "Vibhasha", so he was called the red-bearded Vibhasha.

When Yasha was a teacher of Rosh, he was also called Mahabhasha.

The offerings, mantles, bowls, and bedding that Yasha had received filled the three rooms.

But he never paid attention to these yeshes, and Yao Xing sold them for him and built a monastery in the south of the city.

Yesher once recited "Tan Wu De Law", and Yao Shuang, the lieutenant of Sili, wanted to ask him to translate it, but he was worried that his memory was missing and fallacious, so he tested him: let him recite 50,000 words of Qiang prescriptions, and the next day he took out the original text for comparison, word for word, Yao Shuang was convinced, and asked him to start.

In the eleventh year of Hongshi, Rosh passed away, and Yeshe still stayed in Chang'an to teach the Dharma.

In the fifteenth year of Hongshi, he dissolved the throne, and Yao Xing gave him 10,000 pieces of cloth, but he did not take it at all.

Later, Yeshe said goodbye to Chang'an and went to a foreign country, went to Zhengbin, and obtained a volume of the "Void Sutra", so that the business traveler could be transferred to the monks in the mainland. Then I don't know what happened.

An Xiaoyu said with a smile: "Rosh's situation is similar to yours, and he was forced to break the color ring. ”

The little monk said impressively: "How dare I compare with the monk Rosh?"

An Xiaoyu said: "Little monk, don't be vain, you don't forget to recite the Dharma when you are a ghost now, and you will be reincarnated in the future." ”

The little monk folded his hands and saluted, "Thank you for your encouragement." ”

An Xiaoyu listened to a few stories, became interested in Buddhism, and said, "What other stories, tell them quickly." ”

The little monk said, "My lord, I'm telling you the story of the monk Juexian." ”

In the Zongbin Temple, a former Qin monk Zhiyan came. He came here to study the Fa, and when he saw that the monks here were really extraordinary, and that his insights were not comparable to those of the Han and the Tu, he couldn't help but sigh at the east: "Hey, my peers, I have prepared a great wish to study Dafa, but unfortunately I can't meet a real teacher, and I can't become enlightened!"

Zhiyan then asked the abbot, "May I ask the master, who here can bear the heavy responsibility of teaching the Dharma to the guests?"

The abbot pondered for a moment and replied, "If you want to say that in this city, there are naturally many people who are profound. However, in detail, it is still suitable for the Buddha to carry the Bhadra. This person was born in the city of Tianzhu Na Holi, passed down from generation to generation, respecting the Dharma, he was a monk since childhood, has a thorough understanding of the scriptures, and has studied with the great Zen master Buddha Daxian when he was a child. ”

Zhiyan went to visit the Buddha Daxian again, and the Daxian also said: "The person who can control the monks and teach the Dharma is the Buddha Badhadra." ”

Zhiyan went to invite him bitterly, and Bhadra finally agreed.

This Buddha Bhadra, that is, Juexian, lost his father at the age of three and his mother at the age of five, and his uncle Kubhari took pity on him and made him a novice.

At the age of seventeen, together with several classmates, he made a career by reciting classics. Juexian is very intelligent, and the master often sighs: "He can reach others for thirty days a day!"

After Juexian was ordained, he became more diligent and diligent.

As a young man, Juexian was known for his mastery of Zen law.

Later, he traveled with his classmate Sanghadatta.

In the past few years, although Dado admired his intellect, he still did not know the details.

One day, while he was sitting in meditation in a secret room, he suddenly saw Juexian come in and asked in surprise, "Where is my brother from?"

Juexian smiled and said, "I just went to Tushitian to pay my respects to Maitreya Buddha." ”

Juexian finished speaking and disappeared.

Tata knew that he was a saint, and later saw him repeatedly show his powers, and after careful inquiry, he learned that he had already attained the results of non-return.

After Juexian's cultivation was completed, he wanted to travel all over the world, promote Buddhism, and investigate customs, so he agreed to Zhiyan's request.

Juexian bid farewell to the monks and traveled eastward with grain. After walking for three years, it took all the cold and heat to get through the green ridge. Along the way, he passed through six countries, and the kings admired him for his travels to spread the Dharma and did their best to support him.

When you reach Cochin, you will take a boat along the coastal road. The sea was foggy, and the boat sailed to a small island.

Juexian pointed to the hill with his hand and said, "Stop here." ”

The owner of the ship said: "Passengers are in a hurry, cherish the time, and not to enjoy the mountains and rivers, where can you not go with such a tailwind?"

The boat walked more than 200 miles, did not want the wind to change suddenly, and blew the boat back to the island, and everyone knew that he was not a mortal, and they worshipped him as a teacher, and it was up to him to decide whether to go or stop.

Another tailwind blew again, and other boats raced to travel, and Juexian said, "You can't go." ”

Soon, the one who went first was gone.

One day in the middle of the night, Juexian suddenly ordered all the ships to set off.

Everyone was staying in their dreams, and they were too lazy to move, so he untied the cable himself, and a boat went alone.

Soon the pirates arrived, and those who remained were killed.

Juexian arrived in Donglai County, Qingzhou, and when he heard that Kumarosh was in Chang'an, he went to look for him.

At this time, Fu Jian's former Qin died, and Yao Xing's later Qin was sheng, and the two were very happy to see each other, discussing the law together, expounding the subtle principles, and realizing many subtle truths.

Juexian once asked Rosh very suspiciously, "What you have expounded is not unexpected, how did you get such a big reputation?"

Rosh smiled: "Just because I'm old, I don't necessarily deserve a good name!"

After that, if there is any doubt, the two must explore it together.

Prince Hong wanted to listen to Juexian's words, so he ordered the monks to gather in the East Palace, only to see Luo Shi and Juexian asking questions back and forth, and everyone held their breath and stared.

"What is the emptiness of the Dharma?" Rosh asked.

"The multitude of motes forms the things of the world, and these things have no self-nature, so although they are things, they are also empty. Juexian replied.

"If you can break the boundary between color and emptiness with very small motes, what can you use to break the motes?"

"The scribes may be able to analyze a speck of dust, but I don't think so. ”

"Is mote permanent?"

"For the sake of a micro, the microscopic is empty, and for the sake of the microscopic, a microscopic is empty. ”

At that time, Baoyun interpreted, I don't know what it meant, and the monks thought that Juexian was saying that the dust always exists.

Later, the Chang'an monk asked Juexian to explain in detail, and he said: "All laws cannot be self-generated, they are all the products of cause and harmony. Because there is only one microscopic and many microscopic and the fine dust has no self-nature, it is called emptiness. How can you say that the dust is always there?"

This is the gist of the question and answer between master and apprentice.
