Volume II, Chapter 191: On Trust

After another three days, Saul felt that the time was almost right, so he left his hotel room and took Beth Battier to the slums of Baigalt.

All the glamour is often only superficial, and only a few people can really enjoy it. In almost every territory, there are such dark areas, where the poor huddle in their clothes, struggling to survive, each carrying their own hardships.

Beth thought that Thor was here to find someone, but Thor smiled mysteriously and replied that he had come to steal.

What is there to steal in the ghetto? Beth couldn't think of it.

On the edge of town, Thor picks and chooses old houses, not knowing what he's doing.

Eventually, Thor set his sights on an uninhabited barn, the roof and walls were in good condition, and the interior was empty and clean.

"This is it, you come here. Thor held his hand against the wall and waved at Beth.

Beth stepped forward for no apparent reason, and was suddenly grabbed by Thor by the shoulder. Beth was still a little uncomfortable with this kind of intimacy in front of people, and blushed slightly, but she soon realized that it didn't seem to be the case.

Feeling a flash in front of her eyes, Beth noticed that the barn that Thor had just focused on was suddenly gone.

Before she could be shocked, she felt that the man next to her seemed to be very weak for a moment, leaning on most of his body weight on her.

"This barn will be our new home from now on, oh, temporarily. Although I also want to steal better ones, the size of those mansions is too large, and my own mental strength is limited to steal them. Thor explained with a pale face.

Beth was in a bit of a trance, and she didn't hear what Thor said too clearly, but she felt a strange sense of warmth from the words 'our home'.

Then the two left the territory and came to the grassy area on the edge of the swamp.

Thor had read the map, and it was not worth any adventure, and it was a deserted area, so he was ready to make his home here.

The reason why it is so complicated is because Thor is about to push open the door to the advancement, and the most unstable factor in the process of his own promotion is the crowd. Instead of hanging out in the hotel for a long time to attract some unwanted attention, it is better to run away to the middle of nowhere and settle down.

A small cellar was dug into the ground, then topped with long planks and covered with hay as a camouflage. Finally, the house was placed on the cellar, and the new home was completed in half a day, just like the kind of dilapidated houses that can be found everywhere in the wilderness.

"You're probably going to be bored for a long time to come, because I need you to take care of me in this place for a while, can you do that?" asked Beth, who was sitting by the fire, after lighting a fire in the cellar.

"Take care of you? What's wrong with you? I mean...... Is there anything wrong with you?" asked Beth, for some reason.

"How much do you know about promotion?" said Thor, fiddling with the fire and getting straight to the point.

It was clear to Beth that although she was only a small first-order professional herself, her second-order father had gone through that stage. It's just that when her father woke up, although he was lucky enough to be promoted, he couldn't remember anything, and he didn't leave any useful references.

Beth had heard of promotion, and most of the adventurers had different mindsets.

Some people would rather stay at the first order until they die, and never cross the door of promotion, and there are also many brave people who are fearless of life and death who fall on the way to advancement. More people with a gambling personality claim that it is a gambling game and that it is all about luck.

"So you're doing so much to help my bloody enemy, and you're bringing me here just to find someone who can be relatively reliable and take care of you while you're sleeping, right?"

Thor was stunned, this little shiitake mushroom seemed to have suddenly become smarter, and it was able to connect everything in an instant.

"Yes, then can I trust you? Thor didn't deny it, but asked solemnly.

"You've invested so much in me, you can only trust me now, who made me your maid?, and do you have any other choice?" Bess, shrugged as if you clearly had to be me.

Thor was caught off guard and choked, and seeing her fearless arrogance, he suddenly felt the urge to push her over and spank her. I didn't expect Beth to have such a naughty side, and it seems that she has finally come out of the shadow of sadness.

Next, Thor began to explain all sorts of things. For example, what to pay attention to when living in the wilderness, how to deal with some emergencies, and tell you to go out as little as possible if it is not necessary.

In addition, Thor has left enough food and water for Beth to last three months, as well as some household items that may be needed during this time.

"Finally, let's talk about your compensation, what kind of price do you expect?" Thor looked at Beth.

"Are you sure you want to talk about interests? That might alienate you and me from our current relationship. Beth asked rhetorically.

"You have to talk about something, if you don't talk about interests, you're only left with feelings, do you want to talk about feelings?" Thor continued to observe and probe.

After looking down and thinking for a moment, Beth turned to look at Thor.

"Forget it, three months isn't really long. And you helped me slash the enemy when I was in the most difficult time, and I don't care too much about the reward or anything, just take it as my reward for you. Beth gave a reply that was not too unexpected.

Thor was silent on his face, secretly judging and guessing, after a while.

"In case three months from now......" Beth said again, though she didn't want that outcome.

"Remember the grave that I left aside next to me when I was digging this cellar, and if I never wake up from my deep sleep, don't hesitate to bury me when three months are over, even if you force you to guard me, it will only be torture for me. ”

In terms of the possibility of failure to advance, Thor had already thought very clearly and thoroughly.

"Do you have to go, strength is that important?" Beth muttered quietly.

"It's not a matter of whether it's important or not, there's always something that has to be done, and I need the strength to do more. If I'm lucky, there's a revenge on the back burner. Thor explained, staring at the fire.

The fire crackled, and neither of them spoke in silence.

Or could I try to trust her a little more?

Thor suddenly had a new decision in his heart, and he was going to tell Beth about the Space Ring. There was no such step in Thor's plan, as it would increase Beth's temptation and bring instability to the whole thing.

Thor untied the bandage around his finger, revealing a richly colored ring.

Then, for this spatial ring, Thor began to tell in detail, including teaching Beth how to erase her old spiritual power and become the new owner of the ring if she failed to advance.

As an extension of trust, Thor also taught Beth in detail how to use the ring for trade and thus amass wealth when it comes to the development of the ring. Even the fact that there are more than a dozen dragon's eye gems in the ring is not hidden.

Beth listened intently, but her interest seemed less in the ring and the fortune itself, but more in the face of the man who had suddenly become honest, flickering in the light of the fire.

"You're not afraid...... I'll just run away with the ring and your money?" Beth looked at Thor with the only eyes she had left.

"I was afraid, but I didn't have a choice. But I don't think it makes sense to have wealth in the hands of the dead, and it should be enough for you to start a new life. ”

"By the way, remember to run farther away, in case I don't die...... Forget it, even if I didn't die, I wouldn't have come to chase you, wealth is not high in my life. Thor shrugged and joked.

The two discussed various details like this, but the atmosphere between them seemed to become more cordial and harmonious, and it was already late at night in the blink of an eye.

Thor is seen placing a small, shabby single bed in the corner of the cellar.

"Is there only one bed again?" asked Beth subconsciously.

The corners of Thor's eyes twitched.

"As a little maid, you ask for too much, and it's better to say anything else, only one bed. I'm not dead yet, and you're starting to dislike your master, do you want to sleep until the sky?" Thor laughed and slapped Beth's little buttocks, causing her to bounce all over.

Then Thor took out the water and began to wash up.

Beth washed up and got into the blanket, and when Thor squeezed into the bed, he couldn't help but laugh.

"Well, since you're not wearing anything, I should be cooperative. Saul removed his clothes from his body and lifted the blanket.

When Thor lay down, Beth faced the wall, naturally propping up her neck to leave a gap so that Thor could wrap his hand around her neck, everything seemed so natural and customary.

A good night's sleep.

When she woke up the next day, Beth found herself in the man's arms again, still holding him tightly. And the man in his sleep is aggressively bending one leg against his own leg, wrapping himself tightly.

Beth blinked, then tightened her hugging hand, and quietly pressed the other side of her intact face against the man's strong chest, eavesdropping on his heartbeat.

She had already realized that it had only been a few days, and from the initial restraint, she seemed to be used to being held by him, and even consciously shrunk into the blanket in advance and waited for him to hug her.

Almost every morning she could feel the hardness of the man, and even she was hot with herself.

She has never sorted out the relationship between them, obviously they have embraced each other naked, but nothing has happened. It wasn't until last night that she talked about death that she suddenly understood that maybe this was a subtle love for herself by this man.
