Chapter 9 The Library Room
"This is it, Mr. Phil. This is the registration room of the library, and you can enter the library by registering it. β
Setia led Phil to a courtyard door, put her hands behind her back, shook her body slightly on tiptoe, and said to Phil with a squint.
"Okay, thank you, Miss Setia. β
Phil replied with a smile.
"Will you come in with me?"
"Oh, no, no, I still have my work to do. β
Setia said hurriedly.
"Master Bugatio should have your identification ready, and I'll go and retrieve it and put it in your house. I go straight into your house, don't you mind?"
She asked, bending slightly, looking up at Phil.
"Of course I don't mind, I don't have anything in my house anyway. β
Phil reached out and touched Setia's head and replied.
He didn't know why, he just wanted to do it, he was following his instincts.
Setia was stunned for a moment, her eyes narrowed even more, and she smiled brightly.
"Then I'll go first, Mr. Phil. β
"Okay, goodbye. β
"Goodbye. β
Setia waved at Phil.
Watching Setia's slender back disappear from view, Phil turned his head to look at the courtyard in front of him.
Unlike the other courtyard doors, this one was larger and thicker, large enough for two people to walk side by side, and had a faint grayish-white glow.
Phil can't wait.
He gently opened the patio door.
The courtyard is a different style entirely, and Phil finally finds something different from the style of the Jimenez Mansion.
No longer in the same white gold style, dark brown panels pave the entire courtyard.
The interior of the courtyard is octagonal in shape, and stone book sculptures are placed in each corner.
There is a blue vortex floating in the air in the innermost, this is a portal, he has seen portals in his memory, but they are basically used for teleportation between cities, he didn't expect such a small place to use portals, he was a little surprised.
"This way. β
A middle-aged man sitting behind a huge wooden table heard the voice and beckoned to Phil.
"Put your identification in this crystal ball. β
He watched as Phil walked over to the table, took out a golden crystal ball from under the table, and said.
"My identification hasn't been given to me yet. β
Phil touched his nose, and he saw the man's business card with "Ebanjo" written on his chest.
"Oh, new here?"
Ebenjo looked at Fill.
"If you're new to it, just go in, and I won't record it this time. Ebanjo said, putting the crystal ball back under the table.
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw a young man push the door in, he pouted and picked up the crystal ball he had just put down, and waved at Phil.
"Let's go in, let's go in, there's a hint of what to do when you get inside. β
Phil thanked Ebenjo.
It seems that the library is not strictly managed, or is it too confident in the security force of the Jimenez family, and no one will sneak into this place at all?
None of these are issues that Phil should be considering, at least not yet.
He focused his attention on the portal in front of him.
The portal is a magical thing, it is simply made up of countless blue streaks of magic that rotate slowly at a certain regularity, just so that it can connect all kinds of places that are far apart.
Phil took a deep breath and took a small step forward.
His body disappeared inside the portal.
It was as if the whole person was floating in the air, and in front of him were rapidly flying colored streamers, and he felt an invisible force dragging him to fly.
In less than thirty seconds, the colored streamer in front of him quickly disappeared, leaving only black, and the thickness of the soles of his feet touching the ground made him open his eyes.
He didn't even know when he closed his eyes.
This must be the library.
There are not many people coming and going, and each one is also wearing white and gold clothes, and the style is different.
The library was quiet and nothing special, the same style as the small courtyard, but with many more tall bookshelves and stairs and corridors leading to the other rooms.
Phil felt himself be touched on the back.
He turned his head in confusion.
The man who had just come in behind him grinned and took a few steps back.
His body passed through the portal and was not teleported away. Portals are set to refuse to teleport any portal within half an hour of the same person's teleportation.
Phil felt the man on the other side of the portal take a deep breath.
He came through the portal again, his nose a little red, and his long brown-red hair was messy.
"My name is Kalman. He held out his hand to Phil, "Are you coming to the library for the first time?"
Phil shook his hand, "My name is Phil. Yes, I joined Jimenez not long ago, and it was my first time in the library. β
"Oh~ no wonder. β
Kalman let out a long "oh", if it weren't for Phil's size, his tone wouldn't have been so polite.
"Whatever you want to see, the shelves are described in great detail, whether it's learning history or studying magic, there are instructions on the shelves. He laughed twice and continued. "The first time I came, I was very surprised that there were so many books, and the next time I got to the library, I had to leave the portal quickly, this is the unwritten rule of the library. β
"Thank you, Mr. Kalman, I took note. β
Phil nodded in reply. This Kalman is not bad, and he also tells himself the unspoken rules of the library and how to use it.
Kalman seemed a little surprised that Phil was so good at talking, Phil didn't seem to have a good temper, and he was even ready to be beaten after saying these words.
"Mr. Kalman, where is the bookshelf for learning magic?"
Phil believes that magic is more attractive than history.
"Uh...... The entire fourth floor is full of magic and moves, and if you want to learn magic, you have to go to the fourth floor. β
Kalman scratched his chin and thought for a moment before saying.
"Okay, I see, Mr. Kalman, thank you again. β
Phil smiled and continued.
"Then I'll go over first, and I'll see you later, Mr. Kalman. β
"Okay, goodbye. β
Phil doesn't know any magic and moves, and he said in his memory that all the spells of their race were lost with the demise of the demons, and he was originally a demon with a particularly strong racial talent, and he would slowly awaken some racial skills during his growth, but Phil was the last nominal demon created by the human body, and he couldn't awaken it, and he could only become stronger by constantly learning human skills.
He was a little speechless, the racial skills of the demon race were extremely strong, but he couldn't comprehend why it had to be a human body.
Thinking about it, I have already reached the fourth floor, and from the spiral staircase, it should be three or four floors to the top.
This level is much smaller than the first, less than half the size of the first, and there is a door next to each shelf.
"Basic magic, deep learning, please enter the practice room, return to the original position after mastering, it is forbidden to practice in the hall, and it is forbidden to take it out. β
It is written on a wooden sign hanging on the first shelf.
Unlike other thick books that are used to learn the basics, these shelves are filled with crystal balls that are the size of a normal male head.
"Little Fireball. β
"Little Flame Blade"
"Little fire tornado. β
"Small flamethrows. β
......
There are all kinds of fire magic, and the next bookshelf should be the basic magic of the next element. Most of Montelte are single-line mages, especially common elemental mages such as fire, water, and wind, and only the famous Holy Barry, the monarch of the Otis Empire, is the only three-element mage, a powerful mage who masters the three elements of fire, wind, and electricity, which is widely known in this continent, but in memory it is said that he is not only the three elements, he also has a certain amount of spatial power.
I don't know how many elements my body can master, Phil thought silently.
He picked a small fireball spell and a small flamethrow.
Entering the practice room was actually through a portal, Phil was a little surprised, he didn't expect this Jimenez family to have such a deep background, even a small room was entered with a portal, could it be that all these rooms were entered with portals? This is a little terrifying.
The practice room was like a dimly lit cell, with no windows, only a glowing stone hanging from the wall, no more than ten square meters in size, and nothing but a cushion on the wall.
Phil sat on the cushion, he took a deep breath and put his hand on the crystal ball of the small fireball technique.
Streams of orange-yellow energy sprang out of the crystal ball, burrowed into his hands, and vanished.
He felt like his brain was being eaten by worms, and the intense pain that came from the depths of his soul distorted his countenance. He didn't know how the mages survived, or if he had a problem with his constitution and couldn't learn magic, he didn't know.
It hurts, it hurts!
"Ahh
Phil wailed and gritted his teeth, tugging at his hair so hard that he rolled back and forth on the ground in pain, and even the roots of his hair were oozing blood.
He heard a buzzing sound echoing in his ears, as if far away from him and very close to him.
The ground was littered with strands of hair that he had scratched, and he lay on the ground motionless, his white dress jacket was covered with dust and a few drops of blood oozing from his scalp, his eyes were out of focus, his hands were limply resting on his head, and Phil was so painful that he lost consciousness.
He felt that his brain was blank, his ears were still full of buzzing, and the pain was not painful, but he was in the dark, and it was pitch black in front of him, and he had lost control of his body, and he couldn't even move after struggling.
His mind can still stay awake, he doesn't know if it's sober or not, but he can still think, he can't help but think, is this his death painful?
In a tranceββββ
"Phil, hey, Phil, wake up. β
"Wake up, Phil, don't sleep anymore, wake up. β
"Phil ......"
He heard a woman whispering in his ear, the voice of a woman who was a complete stranger.
