Chapter 5 The Pen of Acceptance, the Book of Access

In a nondescript locked tower that has never been visited by a student, there is an ancient book with a black dragon skin cover that has peeled off a little. Ever since the Big Four had placed it there on the day the castle was completed, its pages had never been touched by a human finger. Next to it, a small silver inkwell with a long faded quill stuck in it. These are the Letters of Acceptance and the Book of Admission, the only institutions at Hogwarts that select students.

Even if anyone had known of the powerful and enduring spell that drove the book and the quill, he would not have told the secret, presumably because (as Albus. Dumbledore had lamented) They had spared the faculty's lengthy explanations for parents who were furious because their children had not been chosen by Hogwarts. The decision to admit the Book of Access and the Pen of Acceptance is irrevocable, and to date no student has been admitted to Hogwarts without the name of the yellowed pages of the Book of Access.

When a child first shows a talent for magic, a quill will fly out of the inkwell in an attempt to write down the child's name in the Book of Access. The feathers on the pen are believed to have been plucked from a bird. (It is well known that the bird feather repels water, and the inkwell is empty; No one had carefully analyzed the composition of the silvery liquid that slowly flowed from the tip of the enchanted quill. )

Those wizards who were fortunate enough to witness this process (some of the headmasters preferred to spend hours in the tower in silence, hoping to observe their actions) found the Pen of Acceptance to be more forgiving than the Book of Admission. The slightest sign of magic is enough to make the pen of acceptance tick. At this point, the book of access slams shut, refusing to be written until it receives enough exciting evidence of magical powers.

In fact, the Book of Access is so strict for a purpose: its performance of rejecting Squibs outside Hogwarts is near-perfect. Children whose parents are wizards but have no magical powers will occasionally have a faint remnant of magic that surrounds them because of their parents. And once their parents' magic no longer surrounds them, there is no doubt that they don't have the slightest ability to cast spells. With the sensitivity of the pen of acceptance, coupled with the rigor of the book of access, they never made a single mistake.

Albus. Dumbledore walked into the small dark room with a serious expression. He snapped his fingers and lit the oil lamps on either side of the door, and a faint orange glow immediately illuminated the mysterious room.

"Oh, Albus," said a young female voice on the wooden table, so lively that a quill could be seen swaying in the inkwell, "but I don't need a light to write. I'd say you're too dangerous to put two oil lamps on a pen and a book......"

"Yes," said a calm and reliable male voice, coming from the spread out of the ancient book, "I agree. I don't know how many times I've protested, maybe the fire ash snake was born......"

His voice stopped abruptly, and then he let out a raging cry.

"My dear sister, this is a business discussion!" He expertly closed himself, then pointed the cover at Dumbledore, and said sincerely, "Headmaster, we know that you usually eat too much sweets, and your eyes are not very good, and you need lighting when you come to visit us......"

He looked like he was about to make a tirade, but the quill pointed the tip at him and shut him up.

"Oh yes, I'm not here to observe your work right now," Dumbledore said earnestly, "and you found Castor. Does Blake exist? I made a mark around him. ā€

"Still no," said the female voice helplessly, "how I wanted to find one more new student, but there weren't many 'stars' in that direction." ā€

"Me too," Shu bent as if nodding, "even if you helped determine the location I wouldn't feel anything, it's not normal." But is he really from the Black family? ā€

Dumbledore affirmed, "It's true." ā€

The room fell silent.

Gu Shu made a happy voice: "I have to say that it is fortunate that it is you, Albus." If Phineas had found out that his almost only heir didn't appear on the list in the office, he would have come running over and tearing me apart......"

Dumbledore let out a long sigh.

"Keep an eye on it, okay?" He extinguished the light, and then said leisurely, "Also, I don't believe you're afraid of fire." You haven't left this house for too long because of your work. ā€

"Yes," said the girl, "so I envy the Sorting Hat, for he sings so badly and still has a chance to perform, and I can only sing to this fool." ā€

"Aren't you happy," the boy regained his calm voice, but with obvious doubt, "another new plan for you to lower my vigilance?" ā€

He was struck on the cover with a quill and let out a cry of pain.

Dumbledore sighed helplessly and turned away. His eyes were fixed on the deep starry sky in the distance and he shook his head.
