Chapter 04: True Seal

Goku, who had eaten the meal, walked in the direction of the back mountain. The voices of the monks in front of the www.biquge.info mountain seem to be isolated by the surrounding pine waves, making this forest path seem extraordinarily quiet, stepping on slippery stones and stepping through a clear mountain stream, and the six Fayuan Zen Master Pagodas come into view.

The tower of Hongfo Temple is in front of the mountain, and the monks can go to worship or pay respects. The six towers here are different from the Tallinn outside, the towers are mottled, covered with moss, and the materials are not surprising, just ordinary stones quarried in the mountains, but without exception they are seven-story towers.

This is the resting place of several monks who have great merit in promoting Buddhism and helping the world to live since the establishment of the Hongfo Temple, and only six monks are qualified to set up a tower here for nearly 10,000 years.

The six towers, like their masters, do not seek to be heard in front of people, but quietly and solemnly hidden in the mountains and forests, allowing the carving knives of time to leave their marks on their bodies, and occasionally the mountain wind blows, bringing a few birdsong in the distance, making this place even more secluded.

After Wukong bowed in front of each Fa Yuan Zen Master Pagoda, he went down the steps made of bluestone strips, and came to a simple and elegant building, with blue bricks and gray tiles, single eaves and corners, which looked chic and rigorous, and the plaque was written with three crimson characters - Tibetan Scripture Pavilion.

"Third Senior Brother!" Wukong, who walked into the pavilion, bowed to the monk who was sitting there on his lap.

The monk who sat there had a long figure, silkworm eyebrows and phoenix eyes, a nose like a hanging gall, lips like jade, and a fair complexion, and he was a rare beautiful man. I saw that he was holding a string of prayer beads in his left hand, standing in front of his chest with his right hand, his lips opening and closing, and the chanting sound that was not inferior to the second senior brother faintly came out of it.

He ignored Wukong, still staring tenderly at a rosewood box on the table in front of him. Wukong didn't care, as if he knew that there would be such an outcome, and after the salute, he went straight to the bookcase on the other side.

Wukong, who sat down on his knees, first took out a roll of white silk from under the bookcase, put it on the bookcase in front of him and smoothed it with both hands, and then gently and slowly opened a scripture book on the left side of the bookcase with his left hand.

With his right hand, he picked up the brush on the ink inkstone on the right side of the bookcase, and transcribed the words on the scriptures on the white silk word by word. The room was quiet, save for the almost inaudible sound of chanting and the occasional sound of turning the pages of a scripture.

It's hard to imagine that Goku, who has muscles as iron, can make such gentle movements, and can also write small characters like a fly's head with a brush. The scriptures were very thin, and even if Wukong copied them carefully and carefully, he could have transcribed them in less than a moment.

Wukong carefully checked word by word, and after confirming that it was correct, he spread out the white silk covered with handwriting and placed it in front of the bookcase. Then he picked up a thin, blank book made of mulberry paper from under the bookcase, and wrote again on the scripture he had just transcribed.

After transcribing and checking the blank scriptures, Wukong gently blew the ink on the scriptures, tightly tied the white silk in front of the bookcase, and wrote the name of the scriptures on the label hanging down the scroll. Wukong transcribed the book on white silk and blank scriptures ten times before stopping, and after packing up, he sent his work to where it should be.

The newly transcribed scriptures were placed in a cabinet on the second floor of the Cabinet and were mainly used for the devout laymen. The white silk is placed on the shelves of the reading room on the third floor, where the monks in the monastery can borrow books or use them to communicate with other monasteries. The old one was originally placed on the top floor of the Scripture Pavilion, where the real scriptures were stored, and it is said that there are treasures of scriptures that are older than the Hongfo Temple for nearly 10,000 years.

When Wukong had everything in order, the monk who was sitting down just pinched his head bead and completed his chant. He raised his eyes to look at Wukong, who was standing on top of him, and there was a coldness in his dark eyes, and there was no emotion that belonged to the world in them, and there was no tenderness that he had just looked at the rosewood box.

The third senior brother is also very well maintained, and his tight skin looks younger than the second senior brother, but it does not have the healthy vitality of the second senior brother. The face, so pale and transparent that you could see a trace of blue capillaries beneath the skin, as if its owner had never seen the light of day and came from the netherworld.

"Who!"

Seeing the third senior brother looking at him, Wukong's legs were slightly apart, his body was sitting slightly, his hands were clasped with ten fingers, his left hand was outside, his right hand was inside, and he made an external seal on his chest, and at the same time he spat out the truth, and the power of heaven and earth around him seemed to be guided by some power, gathering towards the third senior brother and Wukong's body.

"Pro!"

The third senior brother, who was still sitting there, also spoke the truth, his voice was gloomy and hoarse, with an inexplicable magnetism. After the fingers of both hands drew a mysterious trajectory, they formed an exclusive seal on his chest, and the power of heaven and earth that gathered on his body seemed to be blocked by something, and he could not go any further.

"Fight!"

Wukong's knotted fingers spread out like lotus flowers, the middle finger clasped the crossed index finger, the ring finger tightened, the thumb extended forward together, the little finger extended downward, and the mouth changed to an outer lion mark while spitting out the mantra.

……

According to legend, before the immeasurable eons, there was a Pure Land Buddha country in the West, where people lived a free and easy life. One day, the king of Linguo was greedy and raised an army to attack, because the inhabitants of the Buddha country only strengthened their bodies in martial arts, so they ascended to Bliss, and those who survived also became slaves of Linguo.

From time to time, there was a monk who had never cultivated martial arts incarnated as an angry eye King Kong, from the depths of the Buddha country all the way to the capital of the country, the truth flew out of the soul, the handprints scattered, and the thousands of miles traveled millions of corpses, and finally resolved the catastrophe of the Buddha country with boundless killing.

As a result, there is this kind of cultivation method that is born out of Buddhism's Three Tantric Blessings and Mahamudra, and combines mantras with mudras, which can be regarded as a kind of martial arts cultivation. Most of them are used to bless various states, such as positive states such as mindfulness, enlightenment, correct view, etc., but there are also negative states such as shock, stiffness, deafness, etc., and there are also real ones that are used for attack or defense, but there are not many.

Different from the legendary Killing Quartet, to this day, there are very few people in the martial arts who choose to cultivate the True Seal Technique, not because of their requirements for Buddha nature, Buddha mind, understanding, etc., these requirements are nothing in front of some geniuses.

There is only one reason why there is really no market for this kind of martial arts - the time spent practicing this method is too long, and most of that time is still spent in boring copying, chanting, and visualization; However, the corresponding effect of this long-term investment is not obvious and can be replaced.

For example, Wukong used the word "者" mantra at the beginning, which is a shock to the opponent while blessing the enlightenment effect on himself, in fact, the enlightenment effect added to himself is only a false move that can see through the opponent, and the shock effect is to make the opponent have a short distraction.

Although these two effects are very useful when the master makes a move, they are not as good as imagined compared to the time it takes. To see the opponent's false moves, you can do it by playing with others more often, or by increasing your experience; The effect of distracting the opponent is much simpler, and it is not much better to have a good record or reputation, or to roar unexpectedly.

As a result, even in the Hongfo Temple, there are very few people who practice, and even the senior brothers have not been touched, except for their master and a few senior monks who are in retreat among their peers, only the third senior brother in the temple is the most proficient in this way.

And the reason why Wukong learned more was because he didn't want to waste it - copying the scriptures was the same as chanting the scriptures, it was the responsibility that fell on him after he learned it, and he also cultivated the true seal recipe in the spirit of not cultivating in vain.

……

Wukong was defeated again without surprise, he looked slightly out of breath and looked more tired than after a fierce fight with Shirahoshi, and turned to look at the high incense burned in the huge incense burner outside the pavilion, before he and the third senior brother competed, the incense as thick as an ordinary person's thumb was still about a third of the length - it seemed that the time to hold on this time was about the same as yesterday.

"It's thirty moments longer than yesterday." The third senior brother, who had read through his thoughts, spoke.

According to Ah Qi's calculations, a flick of a finger is equivalent to a second in his previous life, and the so-called flick of his finger is sixty moments, that is to say, thirty moments is half a second, which can be seen from the strength of the third senior brother's concept of time.

Wukong didn't have any surprised expression, in his opinion, it was too normal for the third senior brother to behave like this, just as his master said, several senior brothers were all high monks with great wisdom and great perception in some aspects.

"Your outer seal is not right, and the distance between your index and middle fingers should be two more threads closer when you seal it...... The speed of the little finger is too fast, so be careful to make the mark at the same time as the other fingers...... The inner binding seal is too tight, and the tighter the seal is not knotted, the better, to maintain a certain elasticity, so that it is convenient to make a mudra, and it also helps the circulation of qi and blood in the hand...... "Among all Wukong's senior brothers, the third senior brother is the most patient and the most taught, which is completely opposite to his cold expression.

“…… You are already proficient in all the scriptures and mantras of your Vajrasattva Hammer Puxian Bodhisattva, go back and practice more mudras. The mantra and visualization of the Great Day Nyorai Heart Sutra are not enough, so I will copy it ten times on the white silk and the sutra in a while......"

Staying homework is a unique rule of the third senior brother, not only to stay, but also to check the next day. And the scriptures that are placed on your desk when you come every day are the contents to be studied that day.

The third senior brother was a high school champion before he took refuge, and his schoolwork was a habit left by ten years of hard study, and it is estimated that the Buddha wanted to borrow his hand and let Wukong make up for the homework owed in the previous two lives in this world.

“…… Copying the scriptures and mantras is not only written in the scriptures, but also imprinted in the mind through visualization. All the mantra does is to awaken the memory of the mind and body; And the mudra is the bridge between itself and heaven and earth, and any difference will not be fully recognized by the power of heaven and earth......"

This passage is a concluding speech to be said every day, Wukong can already recite it word for word, and even the tone and tone can be imitated vividly, but it is useless, in addition to persisting for longer and longer in the competition of mantra, he is still defeated again and again, and the most powerless thing is that the third senior brother seems to be at ease every time, and he does not use his real skills.

"Go and finish today's schoolwork, or your understanding will come again in a while." After speaking, the third senior brother gently put the rosewood box in front of him in his arms, and then began to copy the scriptures like Wukong had just done.
