There are some historical backgrounds that still need to be explained-
After a series of military or political actions, such as the surrender of Murowei, the capture of Liuxi, and the nine counties under the army, Yelu Abaoji finally unified the various departments in 907 AD and became the leader of the Khitan. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info
In 916 A.D., Abaoji became the emperor of heaven, and the founding name was "Khitan", with the birthplace along the Huang River as the capital.
"Khitan", the meaning of iron!
"Huang River" is not the Yellow River, refers to Xila Murong, in today's Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, and the Laoha River confluence, into the Xiliao River.
In 927 AD, Yelu Abaoji's second son inherited the throne with the strong support of his mother, Shu Luping.
Eleven years later, the capital of Linhuang Mansion was Liaoshangjing, and the country name was changed to "Liao".
If the country is strong, it will constantly make territorial claims!
After many battles, the Liao rulers acquired the sixteen prefectures of Youyun and Yun from the Later Jin Dynasty, and extended their influence into Hebei and western Shanxi.
But this did not satisfy the desires of the Liao rulers.
In 1004 AD, in the twenty-second year of the Liao Dynasty, the Holy Emperor Yelu Longxu and his mother Empress Chengtian launched a large-scale southern expedition.
Speaking of the south, after the Song Dynasty unified the Central Plains, it captured the Northern Han.
In order to unify the north, the Northern Expedition was also formed.
However, several times the use of troops against Liao, in the end all ended in failure, not only did not recover the lost territory of the Later Jin, but also lost the Yizhou and other places recaptured from the Later Zhou.
From then on, the Song Dynasty adopted a passive defensive policy of "preparing for the defense when you come, and not chasing if you go" against Liao.
In this way, in the face of Liao's strong southern expedition again, the Song court was shocked and sent troops to resist.
The Song and Liao armies fought fiercely north of the Yuanyuan.
However, the two sides won and lost each other, and neither could put the other to death, so they had to sit down, negotiate a settlement, and finally signed the "Abyss Alliance".
The covenant stipulated: the two sides should strike and stop fighting, on the condition that Song promised to give Liao 100,000 taels of silver and 200,000 horses of silk every year; Song Dynasty emperor Song Zhenzong called Empress Chengtian his uncle; Liao Shengzong promised to call Song Zhenzong his brother.
In this covenant, Liao got the benefits, and the Song Dynasty got a false name, and everyone took what they wanted, which can be regarded as achieving a decent peace.
The Yuan is in Puyang on the edge of the Yellow River today.
After the alliance between Liao and Yuan, both Liao and Song kept their promises and entered a period of peace, more than 100 years.
By this time, Liao was already quite powerful, and its territory expanded thousands of miles away: to the Sea of Japan in the east, to the Altai Mountains at the northern tip of Xinjiang in the west, to the Krulun River valley in the present-day Mongolian People's Republic in the north, and to the Yellow River in the south.
In 1006 A.D., in the twenty-fourth year of Liaotong and the twenty-fourth year, the Holy Sect and his mother Empress Chengtian were on their way back from Lanyuan, passing through a place and deciding a major event.
"History of Liao•Geographical Chronicles" records: "The Holy Sect tasted the shore of the Qijin Mountain and the Tuhe River, looked at the clouds in the south, and had the shape of the Guo and the pavilion, because of the proposal to build the capital", so he "chose a good work in Yan and Ji, and the Dong Gong was two years old, and the system of the palace and the palace, the pavilion, the treasury, the market, and the corridor were suppressed." The number is called Zhongjing, and the government is called Dading. ”
Qijin Mountain, today's Jiutou Mountain in Ningcheng County, Chifeng City.
After nearly two years of construction, a brand-new city, Liaozhongjing, has begun to take shape.
So far, there are five capitals in Liao: Shangjing Linhuang Mansion, Tokyo Liaoyang Mansion, Xijing Datong Mansion, Nanjing Xijin Mansion, and Zhongjing Dading Mansion.
In September of the second year of the founding of the city, the Holy Emperor and his mother, Empress Chengtian, received the Song Dynasty delegation of the Song Dynasty, which was headed by Song Bo, the deputy envoy of the Ancestral Department, and Feng Ruozhuo, the deputy envoy of the Ancestral Department.
This should be the first batch of envoys from the Song Dynasty to Zhongjing.
