Chapter 53: Penalty Shootout

After a short break, Cristina took the referee team and checked the field, and the two teams also began to lay out the strategy of the penalty shootout, and at the same time submitted the penalty list, and then the captains of the two teams, Keane and Vieira, came over to guess the coin, and finally Arsenal took the first penalty. The goal is the goal of Manchester United, and the penalty shoot-out is an exciting and brutal duel, just like the duel between two samurai in ancient times, the International Council accepted the proposal of FIFA at its meeting on June 27, 1970, and terminated the use of the lottery method when the two teams decided to advance or award prizes in the knockout round, and replaced them with penalty kicks at the end of the game, and the following provisions were followed:

1. The referee selects a goal for the penalty kick.

2. The referee summons the captains of both sides to decide that one side will kick first, and the guessed side should kick first.

3. The referee shall make a record of the penalty kicks taken by each player.

4. (a) In accordance with the provisions of paragraphs (c) and (d) below, both teams shall play five goals each. (b) All should be kicked in turns. (c) The match shall be concluded if one team significantly exceeds the other team, i.e. more than the number of balls that the other team could have shot if they had played five full kicks before each team had played five full kicks. (d) If both teams have played 5 times and both teams have scored the same number of goals or neither team has scored, the penalty kicks will continue in the same order until both teams have kicked the ball the same number (no more than 5 goals are required) and one team has scored one more goal than the other.

5. The team with the highest number of shots, regardless of the number of kicks, shall be allowed to enter the next round or be declared the winner of the match, as the case may be, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 4(a), 4(c) and 4(d).

6. (a) Subject to subsection (b) below, only players who are present at the end of the match or at the end of the prescribed extended period of play, including any person who is temporarily absent from the pitch without the permission of the referee, may take part in the kicking of a penalty. (b) In the event of a penalty kick, an injury to a goalkeeper on the pitch may be substituted by a substitute who is not up to the prescribed amount.

7. Each penalty kick shall be taken by both players in turn until all players on each field, including the goalkeeper or the substitute who has been substituted as provided for in paragraph 6, have taken the second kick for the second time.

8. In accordance with paragraph 6, players on the pitch may swap places with the goalkeeper at any time during the penalty shoot-off.

9. (a) All players on the field, except the player who took the penalty kick and the two goalkeepers, shall be within the centre circle when taking the penalty kick to the nearest goalkeeper. (b) The goalkeeper of the same team as the penalty kicker must return to a line parallel to the goal line in the playing field, outside the penalty area and at least 9.15 metres from the penalty spot. (c) Before the penalty kick is taken, the goalkeeper must stand on the goal line between the two goal posts.

10. In the absence of the above; To the extent that the provisions of paragraph 9 are inconsistent, the rules of the competition and the relevant resolutions of the International Council shall also apply in the event of a penalty kick.

Note: If there is a lack of light before the end of the penalty shoot-off, "the match can be decided by coin or lot. Fans on both sides were cheering excitedly, and Christina called the goalkeepers of both sides, Lehmann and Howard, to explain the rules, the goalkeeper could not move on the goal line in advance, and there could be no fouls. In fact, Lehmann and Howard are both experienced veteran goalkeepers, so Christina is just a routine, except for the penalty player and the goalkeeper, all other players must wait in the center circle, supervised by an assistant referee, and the referee and another assistant referee will record and observe the penalty in the penalty area!

It doesn't matter if the referee deals cards in the penalty shootout, the two sides are out of balance. But what if there are fewer than 7 people? It doesn't matter. The rules make it clear that a penalty shoot-out is not part of the game, so there is no requirement for fewer than seven players to be terminated. So, even if you fight to the last man, you can try to win the game for the team!

The four members of the referee team also had a short but important communication after deliberation! This is also Christina's first penalty shootout, that is, in the years when the women's football team was the referee, she did not enforce a penalty shootout, and this time it is indeed the first time, and it is a feast like Manchester United and Arsenal!

And after a period of preparation, the penalty shootout officially began, Henry, who was the first penalty of Arsenal, came to the goal, and Christina also stood next to the penalty spot, ready to blow the whistle! The first assistant referee stood on the right side of the goal and watched the situation in the goal and the penalty area!
