Chapter 138: Billy Wigg Worm

In the midst of the chaos of the crowd, there were many people like Professor Flitwick and Allen who were running away.

Professor Flitwick's short stature was at a disadvantage at this point, and if he wasn't careful, he could be knocked over by the panicked crowd. Alan grabbed Professor Flitwick's hand tightly, and quickly evacuated with the crowd with a clear goal.

Some wizards dressed in uniform black robes hurriedly passed by Eren and the others, running in the opposite direction.

Alan could tell at a glance that the wizard in the middle was none other than William Piquelli, the chairman of the Magical Congress of America. A huge picture of him hung in the hall, and Alan was impressed by his eagle-like eyes.

For the Magical Congress of the United States, the first priority is to capture the escaped death row inmates and capture the scattered magical beasts. The blockade of the scene was definitely not on their radar.

Because of the struggle between wizards, it is so powerful, and it is definitely not a good idea to have so many wizards trapped in the building. On the contrary, it allows everyone to evacuate on their own, which can more effectively reduce casualties.

Before leaving the foyer, Alan glanced at the dial, which represented the level of threat to magical exposure, and the pointer of the dial pointed to a serious: unexplainable grim situation.

Allen and the others were lucky enough to leave the Woolworth building and evacuate down Broadway.

Suddenly, there was a series of earth-shattering noises in the rear, and the screams and wails of people resounded through the space.

All of them turned their heads to find the source of the sound, the Woolworths Building, the ornately carved and towering skyscraper that had stood on the street before.

One of the building's walls cracked, and the rubble on the ground began to shake like an earthquake, and then exploded, breaking away from the building and sprinting forward in the middle of the street. The action was fierce and rapid - people and vehicles were knocked into the air.

After a while, a group of Auror apparitions morphed into the streets, waving their wands and casting the Oblivion and Confusion Charms on the police and civilians who arrived.

"Oops! we need to get out of this place quickly!" Professor Flitwick grabbed Allen's arm, and the apparition shifted.

In the blink of an eye, they came to a long street, lined with similar brownstone dwellings, one of which had been reduced to broken bricks. Someone was shouting, someone was evacuating from the building in a hurry.

A policeman stood in the middle of the crowd, pestered by grumbling residents.

"Hey—hey—it's all quiet! I'm taking notes for witnesses......" Mr. Police yelled impatiently.

“...... I'm telling you, it's a gas explosion, and I'm not going to take my kids back unless it's safe. A woman in bright red pajamas waved her arms and looked excited.

"I'm sorry, ma'am—I can't smell the gas. The police shrugged, disagreeing with the woman's speculation.

"It's not gas—hey, officer, I saw —— it's a big guy—behemoth—a hippopotamus, a tree, a bear, and monkey—" a drunken middle-aged man said triumphantly.

Professor Flitwick pulled his wand out of his sleeve and pointed it at the middle-aged man.

"- Gas, that's gas. The middle-aged man suddenly changed his words, and the people around him agreed with him, "Gas...... It's gas!"

Professor Flitwick led Alan through the crowd and into a narrow alley at the back.

"Professor, why did you cast the Oblivion Charm on that man?" asked Allen, puzzled.

"This kind of destruction is obviously not what the Muggles say, gas! And the middle-aged man saw it!" Professor Flitwick explained simply.

Alan couldn't help but applaud the professor's acuity! As a professor, Alan himself was blinded by the man's drunken appearance, and subconsciously thought that he was talking nonsense, but the professor saw the clue! There was still a lot of learning for him!

"It is the responsibility of every wizard of us to keep the secrets of the wizarding world from being exposed to Muggles. Professor Flitwick spoke kindly, lightly, but in awe of Allen.

"I don't know what kind of creatures have such destructive power?" Alan compared the magical creatures he knew one by one, but he didn't have the slightest clue, there were too many creatures that could cause such destruction, such as at this moment, the bird snake in Allen's pet space could do it.

A small blue creature suddenly buzzed over their heads. Alan felt that he somewhat understood why the big roulette wheel of the Magical Congress of America was pointing to a serious: unexplainably grim situation.

In just half a day, Alan has already encountered three magical creatures: the Motra Rat, the unidentified creature with great destructive power, and the Billy Wig Worm!

The little blue insect with helicopter-like wings that just flew over was none other than the Billy Wigg worm!

Billy Wigg is an insect native to Australia that simply cannot be found in New York. This is most likely a previous escape from the Magical Congress of the United States.

The Billy Wigg is so agile that not only are Muggles rarely noticeable to it, but wizards are also rarely spotted unless they are stung by it.

But for Allen, who has a keen sense of the five senses, in this remote and quiet alley, the sound of Billy Wigg worm flying is very obvious.

"Cobwebs are heavy!" Alan quickly pulled out his wand and pointed at it, and an extremely fine cobweb instantly appeared in front of Billy Wigg, and the Billy Wigg Worm couldn't dodge it, and was wrapped into a cocoon and flew into Ellen's hand.

"What's that?" Professor Flitwick asked, puzzled, as he noticed Allen's movements.

"Billy Wigg worm. Alan handed the cocoon to Professor Flitwick.

"Their stings are one of the ingredients for bee candy!" Professor Flitwick said, taking the cocoon and looking at it.

"Also, it's a nice spell. The professor looked pleased, "Leonard should be happy to see this." ”

"Thank you, Professor. Alan blinked, but what he thought in his heart was that he would resolutely not eat Zizi bee candy in the future!

"Professor, where are we going now?" Alan thought it was stupid to just stand aimlessly on the street and walk around aimlessly!

"We'll take a look at the homecoming. "That's long enough time for the American Aurors to clean up the mess!

Indeed, in the aftermath of the Prison Raid, a group of high-ranking Aurors from the Wizarding Congress gathered to discuss this momentous contingency.

Among them was Leonard, an old friend of Professor Flitwick's, whose face was now scarred. Also present was President William Piquelly, President of the Magical Congress of the United States.

"The question that this emergency has exposed is so serious, why did our Aurors arrive so late, why did the prisoners who should have been executed immediately escape, and why did all the illegally entered creatures that had been properly housed be released?"

Chairman Piquelli scanned the audience majestically, and the senior Aurors present all bowed their heads, not daring to make eye contact with the chairman.
