Chapter 138: Doing "OEM" in the 80s (1)

On this day, the phone in Yang Zhi's office rang. As soon as he picked it up, Yang Zhi's mouth not only showed a smile, it turned out that it was Chen Weiguo calling. Since Yang Zhi left and dragged to the county for a temporary post, although there are fewer opportunities to meet, after all, the love for so many years has been there, and there will be phone exchanges.

"Brother Zhi'er, I have big news to tell you today! Guess what. Chen Weiguo's familiar voice came from the other end of the phone. As a young man for so many years, even through the microphone and telephone line, Yang Zhi can strongly feel the joy that this kid is trying to suppress under his seemingly calm words.

"What's so good about you kid? can make you so happy, I guess I'll meet another beauty! Yang Zhi said a little jokingly.

"What! You're talking about me too inconnotatively, aren't you? Chen Weiguo immediately protested. However, in a good mood, he seemed to really need someone to share with, so he lowered his voice: "My dad is done!" ”

Well? What happened? Yang Zhi was still a little confused when he heard it, because Chen Weiguo was using the office phone, in order to avoid bad influences, his voice was a little small, and Yang Zhi didn't fully hear it.

Chen Weiguo had to repeat: "My dad! ”

Chen Deshan? Yes! Now Yang Zhi understands everything. It turned out that after Feng was transferred to Beijing, Chen Deshan, who served as the director of the General Office of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, was finally approved by the Central Committee and served as a member of the party group of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, and became a deputy ministerial-level member! At the age of just 50, he can cross the big hurdle from the department level to the deputy minister level, and Chen Deshan's future can be said to have opened a new door. No wonder Chen Weiguo is so excited!

Provincial and ministerial cadres! A seemingly prosaic concept that is actually infinitely substantial. Under normal circumstances, even if you are a senior cadre at or above the deputy department level, you can enjoy many benefits in politics, medical care, travel, retirement and other aspects. And provincial and ministerial-level cadres are even more powerful, and they can be regarded as famous in the whole of China. If you can take a step further, according to the words of the past, it will really be a province and a big party!

As Chen Weiguo's good brother, and has received a lot of care from Chen Deshan in the past year or so, Yang Zhi is naturally very happy for the Chen family: "That's really to congratulate Uncle Chen, but it's a pity that he is not in Jinyang!"

Chen Weiguo also said regretfully: "If only Brother Zhi were here, let's have a good drink tonight and celebrate!" ”

But this little regret is nothing compared to this great news. Soon he left it behind and talked to Yang Zhi excitedly and repressively.

After talking about Chen Deshan, Chen Weiguo also told some about the situation in the factory. It's nothing more than Kuang Ping playing with friends, and Li Yang was forced by his family to go on a blind date and other trivial things. However, suddenly, one of the things mentioned by Chen Weiguo attracted Yang Zhi's great attention.

Because he was not used to Liu Yajun very much, and he had previously declared his personal vendetta like that, tossed Yang Zhi, Chen Weiguo, Wu Yanli and others around him all hated this person very much. So Chen Weiguo specifically mentioned a recent incident related to him, and ridiculed him for relieving Yang Zhi's anger.

"You don't know, Brother Zhi. A few days ago, the leaders of the Jiangling Machinery Factory came to us to drag it, hoping to cooperate with our factory, and our engine factory cooperated with them to produce engines. It is said that they have already been discussed, and this time it is just a formality, and the old turtle who didn't go to Liu Yajun first didn't know which tendon was pumped, and suddenly began to put up a shelf in five or six places, and wanted to increase the requirements for cooperation. It is said that Liu Yajun was full of iron and blue face, and he couldn't say a word! That scene, it's so funny, hahaha"

hung up the phone, but what Chen Weiguo said just now was still in Yang Zhi's mind. Gangneung Machinery Qì Factory wants to cooperate with YTO to produce engines? Yang Zhi felt that there seemed to be some fame in this. After spending time on other channels, Yang Zhi finally inquired about the matter.

Jiangling Machinery Factory is actually a state-owned military enterprise with a long history, which originated from the Shanghai Port Gun Bureau founded by Li Hongzhang of the Qing Dynasty, and was relocated to Jinyang during the construction of the third line and expanded, becoming an important national fixed-point production unit of military off-road vehicles.

In April 1979, the state put forward the 16-character principle of "integrating the military with the people, combining peacetime with wartime, focusing on the army, and raising the army with the people". In the early 80s, the Gangneung plant, which has experience in automobile production, purchased two Japanese Suzuki mini cars from Suizhou, and the Gangneung factory originally decided to disassemble and map the whole vehicle and copy it, but the technicians were surprised to find that the technology of the Suzuki car at that time was far beyond their imagination. Technical difficulties forced the Gangneung Plant to decide to introduce Suzuki's products and technologies from Japan.

After initially approaching Suzuki of Japan, the Gangneung plant realized that if China's automobile industry wanted to develop, it must overcome the difficulties of production technology in the face of the Japanese representatives' skeptical attitude towards China's automobile manufacturing industry. During the negotiations, the technicians learned that the three problems faced by the Gangneung plant were the manufacture of the engine, instrument panel and cab. At that time, the technicians of the Jiangling factory only had the survey and drawing papers of two cars, and the processing of the cab was extremely difficult, so the Jiangling factory invited the workers of the Jinyang Automobile Repair Factory 2807 to manually knock the cab, and the most difficult instrument panel was produced by the Jiangling factory itself.

When machining the instrument panel, because there was no machine tool with enough force, the workers had to use a crane to lift one side of the workpiece to reduce the weight, and then place the other side of the workpiece on the machine tool for processing. Eight months after the first negotiation with the Japanese side, the Gangneung plant drove two assembled trucks to the Great Hall of the People, one of which used the previously purchased Japanese Suzuki light truck engine, and the other parts were all domestically produced, while the other was the opposite, using a domestic engine, and the rest of the parts were all Japanese Suzuki light trucks that were disassembled and restored again.

When the Japanese representatives who came to the second negotiation saw the two prototypes, they were almost speechless, and they could not imagine that the Gangneung plant would be able to successfully copy the prototype in only three months, so the Japanese representatives were impressed by the technical strength of the Gangneung plant, which also added confidence and bargaining chips to the cooperation between the Gangneung plant and Suzuki of Japan. In the following period, the Gangneung plant purchased the Carry ST-90 series models produced by Suzuki of Japan for disassembly, mapping and design.

On May 2, 1985, during their inspection of Jinyang, the central leading comrades specially examined the miniature trucks trial-produced by the Jiangling Factory, and gave instructions that "the production of automobiles by a consortium can be carried out." Shortly thereafter, the Gangneung Plant and Suzuki Corporation of Japan signed a technical and trade cooperation agreement to cooperate on mini vehicle and engine projects. On November 15, 1985, the first batch of Gangneung SC184 mini vans and SC162 mini trucks officially rolled off the assembly line, which also marked the official transformation of Gangneung Plant from a military enterprise to a civilian vehicle manufacturer.
