A few explanations about the setting
I'm a setup, and I have a serious penchant for rigorous and self-justifying setups.
Although "One Step to Steal the Sky" is a fantasy and not as complicated as the setting of the previous magical science fiction, I still spent about half a year working on the outline, characters and cultivation system - this time I spent a lot more time on the characters than in the previous book, and I don't know how effective it actually is.
Therefore, setting errors that can be recognized at a glance should not occur.
For example, it is clear that there are hauntings everywhere, and the reason why the major forces do not intervene has actually been explained in this book.
1, when the evil moon comes, there are a hundred ghosts walking at night (there are usually them, but they are not so dense), and with the degree of the evil moon coming to the world (from Jiuxi to Yixi or even less than one night), the night walking of the hundred ghosts will naturally intensify.
2, ghosts can't be eliminated, and after they are dispersed, they will gather again to do evil within two or three years (Zhu Xiuqi told Bu'an). So if the evil moon has been in the world for a long time (the longest time is twenty-seven years), then it doesn't make much sense to kill the ghost at the beginning of its death. Reasoning shows that for the major forces and sects, retaining their strength and playing a leading role in the war of changing the dynasty that may come when the evil moon is at its most serious is much more valuable than catching ghosts and doing good deeds as soon as they come up - killing ghosts consumes spiritual energy, not without a price.
3, just because the ghosts can't be eliminated, Bu'an's ghost hunting and doing good deeds are meaningless in the eyes of the various sects and the imperial court, and only the Shengdou people who are not familiar with history will be grateful to him.
Of course, what Bu'an did was actually very meaningful, because the ghost he rubbed really disappeared, but others didn't know it.
