Chapter 2: Dream Exploration
The room was so quiet that Kevin Li panicked, and he grabbed the remote control on the bedside table and canceled the mute mode of the TV.
I felt a little better when I heard the sound coming from the TV.
Li Kaiwen walked to the bedroom door, took a deep breath, slowly reached out and pressed the handle, and then gently forced, sure enough, it still couldn't be opened.
Turning around and walking back to the bed and sitting down, Li Kaiwen thought hard, who could this old, ugly and obscene old man be? Why was he tortured and killed by a madwoman?
Li Kaiwen habitually raised his wrist and glanced at it, on his short and furry arm, he was not wearing a watch, so Li Kaiwen turned around and looked in the direction of the bedside table, and saw an electronic alarm clock, the time was 3:18 in the morning.
Kevin Lee didn't believe it was just a dream. However, there are too few clues to think of a clue at all.
If you can't think of clues, then look for clues, so Li Kaiwen began to carefully look at the environment in the room.
The floor-to-ceiling windows are divided into five pieces from left to right by six stainless steel window frames, and in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows is a long row of low cabinets in light brown wood. There are some ornaments on it, including the vase he used to smash the window in his dream last night, and at this moment, the simple white ceramic vase is placed intact on the low cabinet, and the white lilies in the vase are blooming wantonly.
Li Kaiwen walked to the low cabinet and squatted down, casually opened a drawer of the low cabinet, the drawer was neatly filled with CDs, and he opened another drawer casually, which was also a CD, it seems that this low cabinet is specially used to put CDs.
I pulled out two discs and saw that they were burning discs with handwritten labels on them.
Li Kaiwen glanced at the TV cabinet and saw that there was a disc player in the TV cabinet, so he casually put one of the discs back on the disc shelf, took another disc with the word "buried alive" and walked to the TV cabinet, pressed the exit button of the disc player, put the disc in his hand, switched the video signal, and pressed the play button.
Then Kevin Lee continued to look for other clues, he walked to the bedside table and opened the drawer, which contained several packs of cigarettes, lighters, chargers, data cables and the like, as well as two books.
Li Kaiwen picked up a copy casually and flipped through it, and then showed a surprised expression, the words in it should also be Chinese characters, right? But almost half of them are those he doesn't know, those words, how to look at how it feels awkward, of course, those words he doesn't know are not ancient characters, some words according to the context, he can probably guess what it means.
Li Kaiwen felt more and more that the world in this dream was really not the real world he lived in.
A man's cough came from the TV, Li Kaiwen glanced at it curiously, and in the TV screen, a man lit a lighter, as if he was in a small and dark space.
He just glanced at it casually, then turned his attention back to looking for clues.
Li Kaiwen walked around to the other side of the bed, there was a wallet, a mobile phone, and a car remote control key on the bedside table.
Because until now, he finally saw a brand he knew - German BMW.
Putting down the remote control key, Kevin Li reached out and pulled a drawer and locked it. So he picked up the wallet, opened it and took a look, there was a pile of banknotes inside, Li Kaiwen randomly pulled out a brand new banknote, this 100 yuan bill is similar in size to the 100 yuan banknote issued by the Imperial Bank of China, but the 100 yuan bill is bright yellow, and this 100 yuan bill is red.
Then Kevin Li saw the identity card in the transparent mezzanine of the wallet, and he pulled out the identity card.
There is a photo on the front of the identity card, which can be seen that the face seen in the mirror is the same person, and the name is written "Wu Xchao", born in 1969, so it is 48 years old, no wonder it looks so old.
On the back of the identity card is written "China X People's Republic X", there are two words that Li Kaiwen does not recognize, but the last word should be the word "country", but there is a little more stroke.
As for the other word, if he guessed correctly, it should be the word "Hua", that is, the country in the dream world is called "People's Republic of China".
There is no country called "People's Republic of China" in the real world, and Li Kaiwen boldly guessed that this country called "People's Republic of China" should be another Chinese empire in parallel time and space, but at a certain point in history, because of a certain event or a certain person, the world has branched.
Putting down the wallet and identity card, Li Kaiwen picked up the golden mobile phone, and it was very textured, and the back of the mobile phone, like the portable computer in the workshop, was also an Apple logo that had been bitten.
Li Kaiwen searched left and right, and quickly found the power button, pressed it, and the screen lit up. See the password again, but there are only four small circles above the virtual button, which seems to be a weak four-digit password, Li Kaiwen tried to enter a password like "1234", tried several times, and the results were not correct.
So, Li Kaiwen picked up the identity card and guessed several times against the old man's birthday and identity card number, but the result was still that the password was wrong, and then the phone was locked, prompting the words "iPhone has been deactivated" and "connect to iTunes".
Li Kaiwen reluctantly put down his phone and continued to look for other clues.
He opened all the doors to the closet, opened all the drawers that could be opened, and rummaged through the bedroom, workshop, and bathroom, and found no key to the bedroom door, or any other more valuable clues.
In the end, Kevin Li's eyes were attracted by the half-way content of the movie, so he simply leaned on the bedside, quickly retreated to the opening position of the movie, and watched it again.
An hour and a half later, the movie was finished.
This movie, called "Buried Alive", tells the story of an expatriate labor worker belonging to the American CRT company, who was attacked by a group of Iraqis while working in Iraq, and woke up to find himself buried alive in a small coffin.
Kevin Lee is sure that this is not a movie in the world he lives in, because it is absolutely impossible for such a creative film to be so unknown that he has never seen it or even heard of it.
Therefore, this should be the movie in the dream, this parallel time and space.
