In modern times, many martial arts experts and scholars at home and abroad have visited the birthplace of Bajiquan many times to seek their roots, discuss, excavate and sort out Bajiquan, and seek the connotation of its exercise training system and strong practical technical system, so as to make use of their own advantages of scientific and technological training facilities.

I have practiced Bajiquan since I was a child, although I have not achieved great success, but I am willing to divide the content of the Bajiquan school system into several parts with what I have learned, and explore it together with martial arts friends, with the intention of throwing bricks and leading jade, and the majority of Bajiquan lovers, to carry forward the heritage of traditional Chinese culture - Bajiquan and work together.

The basic skills of Bajiquan - Baji small frame

In the process of development, everything has its own unique form of movement. Bajiquan is a collection of hundreds of schools, and in the course of its hundreds of years of development and evolution, it has gradually formed two forms of movement: confrontation and routine drills.

Taolu is the main form of expression of martial arts, and its historical merit is to connect the offensive and defensive fighting moves together and systematically retain them, so that martial arts has become a relatively complete system. From the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China to the present, the routines of Bajiquan are similar in terms of the practice of the routines. The main routines include small frames (also known as old frames), Bajiquan (also known as large frames), singles (empty frames), six major openings, eight major moves, and Vajra eight styles. In addition, there are many kinds of loose moves and loose hands. Then there is the equipment training system with the first big gun as the core, from the early 50s of the last century to the present, the Bajiquan boxing routine has changed to nearly 100 sets.

As the basic kung fu of Bajiquan, the small frame is the original boxing path, which is the essence of the boxing method, containing a very rich gongli gong and a variety of techniques. The predecessors of Bajiquan in the past generations started to teach boxing, and they all took the small frame of Bajiquan as an extremely important cultivation course, and the requirements were extremely strict. The so-called "foundation is not strong. The earth shakes the mountains", the small frame cultivates abundantly jell feast or not. It is the key to whether the cultivation of the Bajiquan system can reach a high level. In other words, cultivating the Eight Extremes is a crucial way to obtain the subtle true meaning of "melting fitness and technique into one furnace". The small frame change song, the small frame practice essentials, the standardization of the small frame boxing style, the standardized action requirements and the various usages and variations of the small frame fully reflect the cultural connotation of Bajiquan.

Bajiquan is a type of boxing that cultivates both inside and outside, requiring consistency inside and outside, up and down, and integrity. That is to say, the person itself is a complete body, one line and one movement, the inside and outside must be consistent, up and down must be followed, to use the "**" strength, that is, the inner triad of the intention and qi, qi and force, force and body, shoulder and hip, elbow and knee, hand and foot together. It requires the unity of internal and external, coordination, and emphasizes that the internal and external should be complete and unified, with the intention of doing qi, urging with qi, and integrating qi. The combination of intention and qi and qi and qi in the inner triad requires that through the cultivation of the eight poles of the small frame, the various organs of the human internal organs will be stronger and more coordinated, so as to maintain vigorous energy and abundant energy, which is often referred to as the formation of "dantian qi". The outer triad requires that through the cultivation of the Eight Extremes Small Frame, all parts of the human body limbs and body are coordinated to produce the strength of the whole. And to achieve "internal and external unity, up and down with each other, complete and one. And the key to urging force with qi is force and body". Because the power generated by the striking power in the fight is transmitted out by the eight joints of the limbs of the whole body, that is, the innate qi and the acquired qi after training are in harmony to form the "dantian qi".

Bajiquan mainly exercises four kinds of strength: rigid, soft, crisp, and slippery. Eight poles of small frame practice

The practice and drill of the Bajiquan small frame is divided into two stages (some teachers have a high level of teaching, and the students have good understanding, or they can not be divided into stages, in short, it varies from person to person, step by step). In the first stage, the teacher mainly teaches and standardizes the movements. The fist shape, palm shape, and step shape of each movement should be in place, and then, the number of exercises should be increased to enhance the proficiency. After the proficiency level improves, let the teacher adjust it one by one. This stage is called fiddling with the shelf. The second stage is the drill stage. In the drill of the eight-pole small frame, it is required that the movement and stillness are distinct, as quiet as Mount Tai, and as dynamic as lightning. When it is quiet, the waist is pulled with the chest, that is, the chest is relaxed and natural (not hunchbacked), and the lumbar spine is naturally upright and relaxed; The root of the shoulder sinks to the top of the head, that is, the head is like a top object, and the loose shoulders are convenient for the smooth flow of strength. The tongue against the roof of the palate refers to the place where the tip of the tongue is closed and licked on the roof of the mouth. Qi is the breath from the nostrils, with the intention to induce the air, with the qi to move the body, the breath is natural, and the qi is stored in the dantian. Shenshui three-throated human dantian, refers to the practice of impetuousness, qi can not sink human dantian, with vi in the self-generated liquid swallowed three times, at the same time on the plate completely relaxed. Tuck the hips, that is, the coccyx is hooked up and raised, and cannot be cocked backwards. Levator ani, i.e., contraction of the anus. Toe grip, i.e. the toes of the toes are slightly inward. The three-tip alignment crotch is self-rounding, that is, when the horse is in the state of step, the elbow tip, knee tip, and toe are vertically up and down, and the crotch is natural and round. When moving, the hand is required to be like a meteor and the eye is like electricity. Immediate development should be extreme, change should be fast, and it must be stable. When punching out the palm, you should induce the qi with intention, use the gravitational force of the air, urge the fist with the force, open the eyes roundly, and the hands will come first, and you can't look east and west, but you should put your eyes together with your hands. Stomping feet like piercing the stone man's hole, breaking through the foot, breaking through the moon like a meteor, the trend of the fist to send ten thousand forces to the waist, walking like a dragon, moving like a tiger, walking like a monkey. The attack is as fast as lightning, and the retreat is as fast as an arrow. When you are strong, you should be strong, and at the same time, blow your breath and urge you, help your fist, and be powerful, and you should be complete inside and outside. It should be noted that the most taboo people who practice the frame and practice Baji Boxing are: bending over the chest, opening the knees and hips, shrugging the shoulders and shrinking the strength, the body is not right, the inside and outside are not compatible, the up and down do not follow, the upper body is too strong and the practice is empty.

When practicing Bajiquan movements, you should appropriately grasp the connection speed between the movements according to your own perception and your own ability, and at the same time master the amount of exercise and grasp the quality of exercise. According to the conventional requirements, when doing each action, that is, there is no time limit when the disc is still and when the disc body is supported to the limit. Then change the next action. When changing from static to dynamic, the force should not be too violent, as long as it can be moved, powered, and forced. When practicing movements, the procedures for closely coordinating breathing from static to dynamic and from dynamic to static are: inhale before moving, breathe during movement, and inhale after moving, while naturally relaxing the whole body, so as to naturally distribute breathing and avoid holding breath.

Bajiquan not only has to fight "stunned" (giving people a fierce and abnormal feeling) in practice, but the most important thing is to practice "live". The work of practice is to do waist work and footwork in the process of boxing trend, to do the qi with intention, to urge the force, the force is natural, not stiff and not stagnant. The power of the shot should be rigid and soft, soft and rigid, and the combination of rigidity and softness is the most powerful. There is a boxing proverb: "The real kung fu is outside the box". There are two interpretations: first, the highest level of art is art. One exhale and one inhalation are a number, slow inhalation and long exhalation, clear and vomit, exercise internal organs, and promote health. In addition to the direct legislation, there are also the law of falling and sitting, sleeping (lying) and so on. The number of breaths gradually increases from forty-nine breaths.

In the number of breaths, you can feel that there is true qi rushing down from the dantian (or the intention is slightly introduced), passing the perineum, taking the queqiao (light levator anus), the upper tail lu, the spine, the jade pillow, and stopping the mud pill for a while; Then go down to the magpie bridge (the tip of the tongue lightly touches the palate), go down to the heavy building, pass through the body, enter the dantian and stop less, if it is called into the yang fire, turn nine times, and then reverse (called the retreat yin symbol) six times, and collect the work, this is the small Zhoutian.

After the practice of the previous stage, you can enter the yang fire 36 times and retreat the yin charm 24 times. After reaching proficiency in the previous stage, he entered the yang fire 216 times and retreated the yin charm 144 times.

2. Do not count the work of breathing (internal kinetic work): Perform in a fresh and quiet environment during the meridian period. The tongue touches the palate, breathes naturally, eliminates all worries, and guards the dantian. Spontaneously, head, neck, arms, palms, fingers, nails, torso, waist, hips, hips, knees, calves, ankles, feet, toes, and do relaxation exercises; The brain is seen as a colorless transparent spherical shape, with blue blood vessels and capillaries, and the blood vessels are extremely elastic, and there are rhythmic diastolic and contraction movements, and red blood cells can be seen running in the blood vessels. In this way, every organ and blood (the mind feels no viscosity, no hyperlipidemia), bone marrow, etc., everything is normal.

After passing through the stage of counting breaths, it is necessary to enter the meridian meridian Dazhou Tian operation. Its running route is: when exhaling, the true qi goes down from the mud pill palace (Baihui) to cross the Tianmu and Queqiao, divides into two to the shoulders after going down the heavy building, travels along the inside of the shoulders to the palms and fingers, and then passes through the back of the hand along the outside of the arm to the confluence of the Tiantu from the fingertips, descends along the Ren vein to the lower dantian, and then goes around the body along the belt vein, and descends to the Yongquan acupoint from the outside of the left and right ring jumping points to the Yongquan acupoint, and opens the Yongquan acupoint to discharge the sick qi and turbidity; Inhale the aura of the earth from the spring with inhalation, go up along the inside of the leg after the big toe of the foot, meet at the perineum, cross the lower magpie bridge, go up the tail, pass through the life gate, the spine, and the jade pillow, and go up to the mud pill to stop for a while, at this time I feel that the mud pill is opened, and the aura enters. In this way, a cycle is completed, and then the cycle is repeated, and the true qi is concentrated in the lower dantian at the end of the work, and the smaller the better. After a period of the above-mentioned exercises, the true qi runs around the body on its own, oscillating between the upper, middle, and lower dantians, and the mind concentrates the true qi of the universe in the lower dantian at the time of harvesting.

3. Living method: Sleep to the west, meditate on the surrounding scenery after waking up, and check all parts of the body and blood flow with qi (mind). and rub his eyebrows, ears, and chin with his hands; Rub your eyes, buckle your teeth, and rub your occipital bone. Seventy-two fingers and toes of the fingers. Rub the two ribs nine times clockwise and counterclockwise with both hands; Push and rub nine times from top to bottom on both sides of the spine. Legs straight, hands on tiptoe, head resting on your legs. Rub the heart of the foot, heel and outside of the foot 36 times with both hands. Invert for more than 3 minutes after washing (contraindicated in patients with high blood pressure).

4. Eye-nourishing skills: close your eyes with your back to the sun, turn your eyes to the left seven times (nine, twelve, twenty-four, thirty-six), and then turn right again, the same number of times, and then try your best to open your eyes to see distant scenes. The root and eyebrow area can be used as an auxiliary movement for the above two exercises. Night eye work can be performed in the courtyard or in the field at night.

5. Deaf ear skill: Listen to the subtle sounds around you, and you can be deaf for a long time. Rub the base of the ear. In winter, use a hot and dry towel to properly iron the roots of the ears and both sides of the neck.

6. Tooth-fixing exercises: percussion 36 (or 72) times before going to bed and after waking up, or when sitting.

Second, the work of the operation?

1. Basin step (horse step, turf): The basic skill of the introduction to Bajiquan, through which the practice of qi descends, not only enhances the strength of the shins, but also avoids the rise of qi and blood, so it can be fixed. The toes are slightly buckled inward, the feet are three feet wide apart, the ten toes grasp the ground, the body squats, the knees do not exceed the toes, the upper body is upright, the body is upward, the two hands are crossed (or the hands are stretched forward, the palms are turned outward, and the arms are round), loose shoulders, loose waist, loose hips, two front visions, natural breathing, and qi through the dantian. At the beginning of the establishment, the legs and feet are often sore, and after a long time, they feel loose and weak, which is a change of force. Step by step until you can stand for two hours and still feel relaxed and natural. Practicing this skill can make the shin strong and the lower plate stable.

There are four taboos in the eight-polar territory: five hearts are not true. Do not bend your back when standing, and if your waist is bent, you can't get down your qi. If the legs are unbearable to bear the pain, the progress will be slow and fruitless. Avoid shrugging shoulders, tilting heads, stiffening heads, staring at the eyes, knee-toe and buttocks pouting. Ma Bu is the first of the basic skills of martial arts, but it must be practiced hard before practicing boxing, and it should also be practiced diligently in the sleep at night. The teacher said: "Kick the wall (or the head of the bed) with both feet into a horseback riding posture, and the legs must not get cold, because they are prone to cramps when they are cold." "When you do horseback riding, your leg muscles must be relaxed."
