Chapter 19: The Dream Maker
"Ten years ago?" Rivas's entire body froze in this beautiful scroll, and seemed to fall into endless contemplation.
Evas, unconcerned about Revas's musings, continued to explain, "Ten years ago, my father did not say goodbye and disappeared into the sea on the side facing the fire pine, and after he left, my mother dug up this blue-purple hyacinth one by one, and then planted red hyacinths one by one. Ivas walked up to the hyacinths, stroked their drooping flowers, and asked the pensive Revas, "Do you know why? Why did Mother dig up all the blue-purple hyacinths one by one and plant them again?"
Rivas turned around and asked, "Why?"
Mother said that the blue-purple hyacinth was similar in color to the sea, and it was not easy to find from a distance, like a grain of rice mixed with a white salt, and no matter how much you looked, you could not find it, and maybe one day my father would come back but could not find the location of the home. But if you change to a red hyacinth, he can see from afarβthis is home. The reason why my mother did this was so that my father could see the direction of the house at a glance when he returned. She has been taking care of this piece of hyacinths all the time. Evas imagined the beautiful picture of his father when he returned, dressed in a simple light blue fishing suit, holding an oar, with a hearty smile on his lips.
Rivas was silent for a moment, as if he understood something, "I see. β
Evas ignored it and continued, "The blue-purple hyacinth was my father's birthday present to my mother, and I remember very clearly my mother's sad expression when she dug up this blue-purple hyacinth, and every time she dug up a tear. Thinking of this, Ivas had a sour nose, and if he hadn't forcibly held it back, his tears would have already fallen.
He restrained his emotions and calmed his mood, "The teacher said that there is a place called Dream Tower in the Western Continent, and legend has it that the people in Dream Tower can interpret dreams and make dreams. Where you lose your way, dreams follow. It's supposed to be someone like you who can control your dreams. Some of these people are said to be able to predict the future. At the time, I thought that what the teacher said was false, but now when I see it, I am really surprised! It can make the dream so realistic, and even the moisture in the grass is not leaked. β
After hearing this, Rivas was silent at first, and then looked up to the sky and smiled, his tone full of admiration for Ivas, "I guessed it, Your Excellency is so smart. No matter how good the dream is, it can't trap a sober person, and Nornod really taught a good son. β
"Prizes. Ivas clenched his fists and bowed, his tone extremely humble, "Dream making is a unique spiritual technique, although I can't feel the spiritual magic of this world without opening my spiritual eyes. "But since you can create such realistic dreams, your spiritual skills must not be weak, right?" Ivas looked at the man in front of him, although he had the appearance of a father, he was not a father at all. Maybe it's just a puppet made by a dreamer, and it definitely doesn't carry the soul of the father.
"Hahaha, that's good. Rivas turned around and transformed into a noble man dressed in a white robe, with long white hair fluttering in the sky like a long river of white when a waterfall fell from a great height. The well-proportioned face wore a plain and strangely styled white mask, and Ivas couldn't tell where the mask came from. The Dream Maker looked at Ivas with the same eyes as a work of art, and said in an appreciative tone, "You have such extraordinary powers of observation without opening your spiritual eyes, and you will surely achieve great things in the future." It's a pity you didn't open your spiritual eyes......" The dreamer lamented, the peculiar mask had no expression, and instantly turned into a mournful face.
Ivas also has a trace of pride in his heart for the praise of the dream maker, after all, few people can find his strengths in this regard, but he still suppressed the joy in his heart, "As such a powerful spiritual magician, you came to the mainland alone, and you have not been discovered by the coalition forces and the sword of kings, not only your spiritual skills, but your stealth methods must also be very strong, your strength should be above the intermediate spiritual master!" Ivas analyzed, looking at his mask that changed at any time, there was a sense of oppression in his heart.
"Coalition, Sword of Kings, do you think I'm going to take them seriously? I'll tell you the truth, even if the seven artifact holders are standing in front of me, I don't care. The dreammaker smiled, as if Evas's had told a big joke, and the mask on his face immediately changed from a regretful expression to a mocking smile, an exaggerated smile and an alternative look that made people feel sick to their stomachs. He raised his voice, "You Dragon Kingdom people don't think that the sword of the king is invincible in the world, it is not worth mentioning in my eyes. β
Ivas was shocked, he never dared to imagine that someone would say such a thing. Who was this person, what was the purpose of coming to the Dragon Kingdom, and why did it appear in his dreams?
And the dreammaker seemed to see through Evas's thoughts, and as the mask changed from a mocking smile to normal, his voice returned to his previous calmness, "Don't guess, I'm not here to harm you, nor am I here to be an enemy of the Dragon Kingdom, if you want to know who I am, you can go back and ask your mother, although I haven't met, we are acquaintances." The man's tone was friendly, as if everything was happening naturally.
"What do you mean, mother?" said Ivas, surprised. When he was a child, his father told him that his mother and he met and fell in love on Ava Island, and as for the previous events, his parents rarely or almost never mentioned them to Evas, which has always puzzled Evas. But I never expected to hear my mother from the mouth of the mysterious man in white in front of me here. Ivas gradually realizes that his father and mother have been hiding something, and he is at a loss as to why his parents are reluctant to tell him the secret.
"Your mother, the last prophet, seems to have kept this a secret from you all these years. The white-clothed dreammaker's words interrupted Ivas's doubts, like a dragonfly giving Ivas a clue.
"Prophet?"
Seeing Ivas in a confused daze, the white-clothed dreammaker waved his hand, as if he could grasp the whole world in his hand, "Alright, boy, that's all for today." He straightened his collar and made another stretching motion, his slender limbs like bats flying in the sky, "Although I don't want to go, I still have some things to do, so let's take my leave." Even if we haven't met, you'll forget about me when you wake up. With that, he waved his hand again, and the whole beautiful and realistic world began to gradually disintegrate, like rock candy melting little by little in water.
"Wait, is my father still alive?" Ivas roared at the voice that had disappeared into his dream, his excitement mixed in the air. Ivas knew in his heart that his father's disappearance was definitely not a coincidence, it must have something to do with it, maybe this was a clue, maybe the man in white in front of him knew where his father was, maybe he could find his father, or he could help him tell his father that he, his mother, and his sister were waiting for him on Ava Island. Thousands of thoughts filled Evas's mind, and he shouted at the shattered dream, wanting the man in white who had disappeared into the dream to hear his voice, "Where is he now?" Ivas didn't want anything extravagant, he just wanted his father to come back and not let his mother wait all the time, he wanted to know if his father was still alive, and he wanted to hear his father's words of goodbye.
After a roar of rage, Evas's voice mixed with verve came from the sky, which seemed particularly ethereal and sacred. "I'm sorry, kid. I don't know anything about Revas's whereabouts. But remember, he was a great man, and like your grandfather Navas, they were all heroes. β
"They're gone. Evas said sadly.
But their spirit remains forever on earth. β
"What's the use of that?" asked Evas.
The voice of the sky said: "The beautiful blue butterfly disappeared into the sky, and when I looked back, the enlightening light in the darkness showed people the way forward." The fog on the sea is so big, the waves are so high, but there are always people who like the sea, and in their eyes the sea is quiet. Some people are eager for the flowering season, but the flowering season has not yet arrived. There are no absolutes in the world, and everything will have a time when peaks and loops turn. β
"Really?"
"You have to believe that. β
"I hope you're right. Ivas closed his eyes, feeling his body disappear little by little.
The ocean is gone, the blue waters are gone, the sky is gone, the sky is gone, the sky is replaced by chaos, Ava Island is gone, there is no earth beneath its feet, the fire pines are gone, the wind chimes cease abruptly, and the blue-purple hyacinths disappear into the cobblestone paths. The whole dream disappeared without a trace, and then Ivas's consciousness began to blur, everything that happened in the dream was forgotten, and all the memories in the dream flowed from his mind and all over his body, slid through his fingers, and disappeared into the infinite chaos.
Ivas felt too weak to exert his strength, and he tried his best to tremble his lips and say the last words of his dream: "Sure enough, it's just a dream, and the dream still has to be forgotten." He closed his eyes, lost his sight, and there was confusion in front of him, followed by taste, touch, and smell.
Just as his hearing was about to disappear, Ivas seemed to hear an ethereal voice from the sky, "Rivas is no longer in this world. The voice was very kind, like a lullaby humming by a mother in front of her sister's cradle, "Sleep, child, you will forget all this when you wake up tomorrow, I hope there is really a god in the world, who can bless you......"
Ivas felt a pain in his heart. Countless sorrows began to strike, but I had no choice but to lose all my five senses, unable to release them, and unable to shout. It was as if he had fallen into an endless abyss, surrounded by cold and fear, all struggles were in vain, and all resistance was futile. Just as Ivas began to recall the bits and pieces he had experienced with his father, his consciousness vanished, and the last of his consciousness became an invisible bubble.
It was the first time that Ivas experienced the feeling of death, disappearing from a world.
Ivas had been asleep all night, and in the blink of an eye it was six o'clock in the morning. In the morning, Du Cheng had not yet woken up from his sleep, only the scattered street lamps in the city gave a faint light, and the nightlife on Twelfth Street finally came to an end, and the trendy young people played and returned to their warm bed, and slept until the afternoon. Even though it was a hot July, the cold air of the morning turned into fog and water, and it was shallow all the streets of the Dragon Kingdom, moistening the damp moss on the side of the street. The tuk-tuk and the sea-birds began to migrate, and there was still a long way to go, after all, the end was on the other side of the sea.
"Mr. Evas, Mr. Evas?"
Knock knock
The waiter tapped on the mahogany door, but Evas didn't respond. The waiter began to get anxious, and the knock on the door became more and more urgent.
Asleep?, the waiter thought.
Should I knock the door? Will it make the guest inside angry? But the person in charge asked me to wake him up at six o'clock in the morning.
After a moment of hesitation, the waiter made up his mind.
"Mr. Evas, Mr. Evas, are you still sleeping?" the waiter asked the room, controlling his voice.
Knock knock
The waiter knocked on the door again, this time with more force. He wished he had torn down the entire door and grabbed Ivas from his bed.
Ivas tossed and turned on the soft bed and breathed a sigh of relief. It felt as if I had a dream, but all the details of the dream vanished, leaving only a blank space.
"Is it morning?", he propped himself up and fumbled with the switch of the bedside lamp, his body shaking. As he struggled to get out of bed, he almost lost his balance and lost his footing, and almost fell to the ground.
"It's so uncomfortable to wake up early!" he cursed to himself, reluctantly changing into the clothes he had rested on the pillow last night.
On weekdays, Ivas gets up at half past seven to go to school, and today an hour and a half early makes Ivas very uncomfortable. Loose muscles, inelastic, feeling powerless to do anything, cerebral neurasthenia and decadence, as if the waste left by the previous day has not been drained, even when I button my own clothes, I have to buckle again.
Knock knock
There was another loud knock on the door, louder than the last, and Ivas could feel the mahogany door shaking. "Mr. Vas, wake up, you have a voyage this morning at nine o'clock in the port of Calmerou. The waiter's voice sounded anxious, but also childish, presumably the waiter was about his own age, Ivas thought.
After arranging the corners of his clothes, Evas shuffled to the red wooden door with heavy steps.
"It's coming, it's coming. β
"I'm sorry, I've been waiting. Evas embarrassedly opened the door, which creaked.
Evas walked out sleepy-eyed, one hand stretched out, the other rubbing his hard-to-open eyes. Under the light of the corridor light, he could see the waiter's face clearly. Ivas was shocked, this was just a boy who was about the same as himself, but his mature face and his childish voice didn't look like the same person at all. At a young age, there are already wrinkles at the corners of the eyes, and the skin is rough, as if it is caused by a lack of nutrition. Her complexion is pale, as if she hasn't been exposed to the sun for many years, probably due to working indoors all the time. The eye sockets are sunken inward, like two dry oases in the desert, and the thick black eyebrows have faded their original color, leaving a regrettable gray. His pupils are dark green, and his long eyelashes look very spiritual. Small nose, big ears, and a tightly closed mouth. He was dressed in an upright dragon kingdom new-style dress, and his already thin figure was even thinner, and the empty cold wind passed through his sleeves.
Ivas observed that the waiter was not used to being stared at, so he immediately put away his surprised expression and replied politely, "Thank you, please call me so early." If it weren't for you, I might not have gotten up. Evas scratched his head, smiled, and apologized for not hearing a knock on the door.
"It's okay, as long as you're awake, you said you had a flight at the port of Camero this morning, it was nine o'clock in the morning, and I thought you weren't awake, for fear that you missed it. The waiter explained, those bright eyes revealed the courage to face and overcome all difficulties, and the fate was like this, and the persistent hard work touched Evas very much.
Ivas patted the waiter, who was a head shorter than him, on the shoulder, and said as if he were a friend, "Thank you, man." β
"It's a matter of duty. The waiter said modestly.
Ivas looked at the waiter for a moment and said, "You're the best waiter I've ever met." β
"Really?" the waiter was happy.
"Really. β
"Thank you very much for this recognition. β
"Where are you from?"
"Zhuwen, I am from Zhuwen. The waiter said proudly.
