Chapter Twenty-Eight: Eight Steps
In the early morning of the next day, Mu Wan deliberately hid in the canopy of the old locust tree and paid attention to the movements in the yellow courtyard. As a result, the Taoist priests in the courtyard did whatever they had to do. Even the boy didn't find out that the No. 2 courtyard where Hu Laosi and 'Little Mustache' lived was empty. As usual, he carried a load full of water into the courtyard, and when he saw that the water in the tank did not move, he sent the water to the next courtyard.
The yellow courtyard basically lives in the wandering Taoist priests who come outside to place orders. Everyone usually doesn't visit the door, and when they meet each other, it's just a fist to say hello. I think I'm thinking too much. Mu Wan shrugged, jumped down from the tree, returned to the house, spread out the paper, and continued to translate the "Four Elephants and Five Elements" word by word from the "Golden Text Ancient Record".
She had to race against time and try her best to translate the exercises before Uncle Zhang returned. It's a lot of work. "Four Elephants and Five Elements" has a total of thousands of words. Even if some of the words in it are recurring, she estimated that there are hundreds of words to rummage through and mark one by one.
Fortunately, there are many texts included in the "Golden Ancient Records". After a morning passed, Mu Wan finally found the forty-two words in the first stanza. This section is actually an overview. It roughly describes the origin and characteristics of the "Four Elephants and Five Elements".
According to it, this exercise was created by God the Father in ancient times, and it is suitable for the Chaos Spiritual Root. What is the Chaos Spiritual Root? It is also very clear - "the five elements are complete and balanced".
When Mu Wan translated here, she was not depressed: before, she had seen the true appearance of her own spiritual root in the dantian. It's just that the five elements are complete, and the five attributes are uneven, so it's definitely not the Chaos Spirit Root.
Fortunately, next, it was said in the overview that the Chaos Spirit Root is really hard to find. The Five Spirit Roots can also reluctantly practice this exercise. It's just that in the Qi refining stage, the Five Spirit Root Cultivators will feel extremely difficult, and the progress of the exercises will be slow. However, as long as you stick to it, the five spirit roots will become more and more balanced. Until one day, the five spiritual roots are balanced and evolve into the chaotic spiritual roots, and the monk will be able to build a perfect foundation naturally. From then on, the cultivation speed was comparable to the mutated single spirit root! The strength is not ordinary monks of the same level can compete!
This exercise is amazing! Mu Wan was deeply encouraged and hurriedly rummaged through the words in the next section.
Fortunately, she found the thirty-seven words in the next paragraph in "Jin Wen Gulu". They are a mantra that mainly talks about how to refine qi and condense divine consciousness in the second layer of qi refining. Previously, Uncle Qingyu passed on her "Spiritual Qi Formula", and there were also two sentences of Qi refining experience in it. Compared with the exercises, it is too crude.
Mu Wan looked at the sky outside. It's not dusk yet. So, she gathered her mind and continued to translate wholeheartedly.
The third section is the mantra of the three layers of qi refining. The word count is the same as the second paragraph. With the foundation laid by the first two paragraphs, the total number of new words in this paragraph is eleven less. So, when she was holding the lamp, she found all the words in the whole section. However, those words were all recognized, connected together, and made into a formula, but she was immediately covered in clouds and fog, and she didn't know what to do.
Could it be that the realm has not yet arrived, so it is impossible to understand? The tip of her eyebrows furrowed, Mu Wan gently stroked the fields behind the bamboo slips, and after thinking about it, she sighed softly: "It's okay." "In order to put the bamboo slips back in the space with the books.
You can't become fat by eating in one bite. The rest of the fields, even if they are all turned over now, are as incomprehensible as the third paragraph, so it is better to wait for the realm to be raised to the corresponding level in the future, and then slowly translate them.
Translating is a very mentally draining task. I was too focused before, and I haven't felt it yet. Now that I've received the book, the headache of my consciousness being exhausted has returned.
With previous experience, Mu Wan knew that this was the best time to practice swords—when his divine sense was consumed, practicing swordsmanship would not only sharpen his sword more efficiently than usual, but also speed up the recovery of his divine sense. So, she took a deep breath, took out the peachwood sword from the storage bag on her waist, went out of the house, and walked under the old locust tree to practice the sword.
She has been busy translating exercises during the day, and she has not practiced a single sword of 5,000 swords today.
Just after entering the meditation, the five thousand swords have been practiced. Mu Wan shook her sweaty arm, feeling that she still had some strength to spare, and thought: You might as well try to learn "Eight Steps of Freedom" or "Luoying Flying Sword" by yourself.
It was the dead of night. The moon is like a string, hanging in the air. The whole Sanshui Temple was shrouded in darkness and silence, only two or three permanent lights were still flashing in the Tianzi Courtyard.
The past is not far away, and the future is the teacher. After the incident with the four Hu brothers, Mu Wan knew that she was only acting in a low-key and low-key manner. Therefore, after looking around, Mu Wan finally did not enter the house and pick up the lights to practice at night, but walked to the water tank in the corner to fetch water and freshen up.
After changing into clean clothes, she went back to the house and sat down on her legs on the bamboo bed. With a thought, I entered the space.
There is no day or night in the space. It's bright around the clock. She has studied the cheats and can condense her soul, so why not?
It's still the same in the space. Xiangxiang was still sleeping by the well, and not even a bud had emerged.
After taking a turn in the courtyard, Mu Wan pushed the door and entered the house. After the space was upgraded, the house was not only upgraded from a small thatched house to a tiled house, but also doubled in size.
Mu Wan is a person who suffers hardships and is also very good at enjoyment. As long as she can, she will serve herself comfortably. For example, she standardized the empty house, and initially divided it into two functional areas: the storage room and the living room. Among them, the living room has windows and doors, which occupy two-thirds of the entire room. In the living room, she put the long-backed chair and the square table brought out from Mu Mansion under the window, and used them as desks and chairs. There are pen holders, inkstones, jade paperweights and other things on the table. The chair is covered with a thick square cushion inlaid with begonia red brocade. It's a pity that at that time, she was weak and had little strength, and she couldn't move bigger beds, couches and other things, so now she can only put bedding, pillows and other things on the ground and make them on the floor.
"When you have the chance, you must buy a comfortable couch first." Mu Wan pursed her lips, sat cross-legged on the thick floor, took out "Eight Steps to Freedom" from the storage bag and studied it carefully.
"Eight Steps of Leisure" is a light footwork, with a total of eight layers. It is oriented to the Taoist Bagua, and there are only eight basic steps on the first layer, and then, with each additional layer, there are eight more transformation steps. Up to the eighth floor, there are actually eighty-eight sixty-four steps.
After memorizing the footwork of the first layer, Mu Wan took the cheats to the courtyard and tried to walk. Before starting, she took out her peachwood sword and silently drew a circle in the open space in the middle of the courtyard, with a diameter of one step. Then, in the circle, she identified the eight cardinal directions.
After getting ready, Mu Wan pinned the corner of the robe to her waist, held the cheats behind her with one hand, and stood on the position, facing the position. The right foot is stretched out at 45 degrees to the right front side, stepping on the kun position, and the center of gravity falls on the right foot. Then, take a half-step on the left heel. The center of gravity falls on the left foot, and the right foot taps at the same time, changing from a real step to a virtual step. This is the first step.
The second step is the retreat footwork. First, the left foot becomes solid, the right foot turns solid, and the center of gravity moves forward. Then, step back with your left foot, step on the dry position, shift your weight to your left foot, and retract your right foot by half a step. The weight is then shifted to the right foot, and at the same time, the left foot becomes a virtual step.
The third step, like the first step, is also a right-hand progress. It's just that the orientation of the footwork is in the exchange position.
The fourth step is to turn around, face the shock position, and go out with the left foot first, step on the gong position. The center of gravity is the opposite of the first step.
The fifth, sixth, and seventh steps are all left-hand progressions, which are just the opposite of right-hand progressions such as the first step, and the footwork orientation falls on the seismic position, Xun position, and off-position respectively.
The eighth step is the big retreat, which is much the same as the second step. The difference is that you first have to turn around, stand with your back to the position, and then take a big step back with your left leg, and finally land on the position.
After walking eight steps, it happened to start from the kan position, return to the kan position, and complete the eight directions of the eight trigrams. In the middle, advancing or retreating, sometimes turning, between virtual and real, the body is elegant.
Mu Wan walked three more times according to the cheats, and finally memorized the footwork routine of the first layer. After receiving the book, she left the space in high spirits and went to practice in the small courtyard.
She is familiar with the routine, and she no longer needs to draw circles and mark directions in the open space, as long as she can distinguish the position and the departure in advance.
With her hands behind her back, she took a deep breath, first according to the breath-by-step pranayama method, controlled the strength of her feet, and walked slowly.
After a trip, my back was wet.
However, it is not enough to qualify! The requirements for the first level are: to switch freely between eight steps, at least to be able to walk out of eight steps within one breath. Mu Wan knows that her qualifications are inferior, so she can only make up for her clumsiness. After a moment of pranayama, she began to practice again.
When she felt exhausted, she took a pill and continued to practice.
……
Before you know it, the night has passed. The first rays of light appeared on the horizon.
Mu Wan just finished another trip and returned to the position. After one night of practice, she practiced the first layer of footwork perfectly, she could switch between eight steps freely, and completed four steps in one breath!
Although she has not yet reached the standard, seeing that she has been able to pull out one or two afterimages in the rapid march, Mu Wan felt a little proud in her heart - sister's footwork, this posture, and this speed can completely overturn any martial arts master she has seen in her previous life!
Who would have thought that more than a month ago, she was still a medicine jar that gasped like a cow after walking a few steps!
Therefore, no matter how many difficulties and obstacles lie ahead, she feels that she is lucky to be able to choose cultivation in this life. It was definitely a wise move for her to firmly embark on the immortal path at the beginning.
Every day, I am getting stronger little by little, and after a period of time, I suddenly look back, and before I know it, I have been reborn. It's so cool to grow and transform like this!
Continue! Now is the time of day when the aura is at its highest. Mu Wan didn't rest, just went back to the house to change out of the wet clothes on his body, and sat cross-legged on the bamboo bed to practice.
With the new exercises, of course, there is no need to use the "Reiki Technique". Mu Wan first silently recited the first layer of the "Four Elephants and Five Elements Formula", and then according to the formula, she operated the five elements aura in her body that was spiraling forward.
Great, the new exercises are so efficient! It took only half the time for the aura to run for a week. Mu Wan opened her eyes, exhaled a breath of turbidity, and then started to run a new Xiao Zhoutian.
Next, Mu Wan nested in the small courtyard every day to do penance. After three days, she was finally able to take eight steps in one breath.
The first layer of the eight steps of leisure, breakthrough!
On the fourth night, after practicing five thousand swords, Mu Wan did not take the hot iron to practice the second layer of the eight steps, but returned to the space and took out "Luoying Flying Sword" and watched it.
The reason is very simple, with her current physical strength, she can only support eight steps. After eight steps, the physical strength is unsustainable, just like the skillful daughter-in-law is difficult to cook without rice, no matter how exquisite the footwork is, it is in vain.
